I don’t know if this was in the original game, but I love that line of Amy telling Sonic and Shadow to get out of the way of the ARK. She realized that it was the end of all life on Earth, and to an extent herself and her friends. If the ARK had continued to fall to earth, both likely would have died as well. It just goes to show that Amy is so passionate about the people she loves that she accepted her fate and wanted Sonic and Shadow to continue their lives. Thankfully she was wrong.
That’s funny I never knew that was a real line from the game because I don’t think I ever came close to failing the final boss, haha. TBH I’d the ARK & Earth are destroyed it’s not clear where they would go anyway! Sonic & Shadow might as well go down fighting!

God, 8 yr old me thought this was absolutely PEAK gaming experience. I'll never forget this game, it was my first gamecube game and the first official game I got when I bulit my first PC 10 years ago.
Nah Sonic 3 won’t contain this sa2 has too much content in it for one movie and if they try to fit all of it in it would end up being rushed and the community would hate it.
Would remakes even be any good at this point? I can't imagine them doing a faithful recreation of Sonic Adventure gameplay and not a horrid mishmash of everything 3D Sonic's been doing for the past decade.

TBH I thought the Biolizard's animations were pretty stiff. The rest looked good though. Maybe could have used a bit more fire on parts of the ark other than the tip of the cannon.
I love the details implying that the ark is gradually entering atmosphere. The fact that you're getting closer and closer to earth as the fight goes on, the air friction on the tip of the eclipse cannon. The air visibly getting thicker. I feel like it adds a sense of urgency to the fight that wasn't there originally

this is actually a remake they are working on, trust me, it's worth playing, a demo of this is coming out next week actually, they just released a teaser yesterday, it's called Sonic Adventure 2 Redux!

@joshshrum2764 they play live n learn for about 15 seconds before cutting away to robotnic spanking himself for a minute. They did that like 4 times instead of playing out the cool team up moment with all the characters radioing in cheering them on
You just brought my childhood and made it bloody EPIC!!!!! BRUH I played this game so many times to the point I STILL know the lyrics by heart!!! Bet if the movie has this song I know I won't be able to handle the urge to not sing it even in a theatre. I couldn't hold it when playing up to this part. God when we said the game didn't age well... but look how amazing the whole fight looks here!
@@syzorst No Biolizard, the ark didn't start to fall into the earth, no chaos control to return in to orbit, Live and Learn playing just for a small bit rather than the full song. Those are the changes that I didn't like. At least the movie was great ❤️
@kassandrajade3643 That's fine but I think not having the biolizars made sense when you think about it. Remember, the biolizard was failsafe to for the ark to collide with the Earth after Gerald was dead 50 years ago but since Gerald is alive, there was no need for it but I do see your point. As for the Ark not falling towards the Earth, there was the threat of the core meltdown which would've resulted in the Earth covered in deadly radiation which is why Eggman sacrificed himself as Shadow destroyed the canon. I do agree with you that it would've nice to see biolizard and the Ark collision course but I think it's fine with what we got. Unlike the game, we already did see a sacrifice (Eggman).
Oh wow, that's impressive ! The beam cannon effects... very pretty. And the recreation of the final cutscene with Sonic and Shadow warping the colony away with Chaos Control... Very nice effort
It looks really good buddy! Friendly observations: 1) The ARK and the bio lizard look kinda dark. I think that could be a detriment in gameplay 2) The sky looks empty, the original is more filled with stars 3) The camera angles for the fight are weird. If i don't misremember, the OG is closer to Sonic/and Shadow 4)I'd also pay attention to the cinematic angles, the shake and the pan at the beginning seem of in comparison to the OG I don't know if this is helpful or if other users can point the same things, just wanted to help
I hope the Final Battle in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is similar to this, there is no way the movie would be stupid enough to remove something this epic and awesome, Edit: even though Biolizard didn’t play a part in the finale the movie was still amazing
I do wonder how they are going to portray this in the movie because if they go with the option of shadow falls to earth and gets amnesia and then G.U.N possibly convinces him to join them that would open up the potential for a shadow series or have him be a returning character if they make a fourth movie where as if they have shadow sacrifice himself instead and all that’s left is his one of his inhibitor rings that would be more cinematic I think
They didn't use Chaos in any of the previous movies, so I'm not too confident they're gonna use Biolizard either. Although Chaos has the downside of its design being mostly water, and water is a pain to recreate in animation.

Why we don't have an HD remake of Sonic Adventure 2 yet is beyond me. I guess SEGA doesn't like money. But at least this gives us a glimpse of what we could have.
I've always thought this is one of those games they actually don't want to screw up a remake with because of how much the story/cast of Sonic changes. But I'm betting it's actually any number of reasons why, like finding out how to monetize it, maybe it's a buggy port and they'll want to start from the ground up and the team hasn't figured out how to restyle the physics in a new fun way.
I 100% agree, it would be a major dissapointing crime for that studio to not adapt this part into that upcoming movie, they can't be allowed to leave it out of that feature film or replace it with a different battle scene!

Thanks for sharing the video! Sonic Adventure 2 was actually the very first game I played on Dreamcast, so watching this brought back a flood of nostalgic memories. Nicely done @JeliLiam It'll be great to compare this to Sonic Shadow Generation in the fall alongside the 3rd movie. 1st Biolizard fight is definitely in the game, but I doubt we'll see either in the 3rd movie unless the studio really shoots for the moon (literally). We'll see. Great time to be a Sonic fan. Thank you again for making this in Unreal Engine 5.
The amount of times I’ve imagined a modernized this fight would probably completely weird someone out of they were to read my mind. Also the fact that this is probably the first actually reimagine I’ve ever seen of this fight nearly 23 years after the games release genuinely confuses me given this games popularity this only got worst after the Sonic symphony’s Live and Learn for me but finally someone has made it. I think my favorite part of this got to be the beginning with egg man saying their names as they blast past the camera it was just so citematic.

I love Everything of that, I would have just Appreciate more to see Final Biolizard move more Slowly into Space to Feel it's actually in Space, not just on Earth with Regular Gravity. Outside that, it's Truly Beautiful to Watch! ^^
When I was a kid I had a friend who was ~2 years older than me. I really looked up to him and he introduced me to Sonic. I remember once he came over to my house when I was on this boss and we did it together. He played the shadow parts and I played the sonic parts. We lost contact for a while but I found him almost 10 years later. He got kicked out of his house and was hanging out at a local McDonald’s alone. My family and I took him in and the first thing we did was boot up SA2 and hang out like old times.
Visually MUCH better than your previous sonic adventure 1 work. I think what helps is that SA2 was going for a more realistic aesthetic compared to the 1st game so making UE5 remakes won’t look as weird and jarring. It’s not perfect but 100% an improvement over your other projects so good job
Definitely appreciate that you kept this looking like a cartoon (like it should be). I've seen some Unreal Engine recreations of the Sonic Adventure era that try to go for a hyper-realistic look and it just looks wrong once you put Sonic in there. For a 4 day project, this will impressively well done and a tasteful application of the modern graphics engine.
Holy shit, this looks amazing man! This is not a critque, just a personal preference, but if there is any possible way to give shadow his original color aura... that'd be tight. Why they changed his silver color to gold in every game afterward, I have no idea- it made him even more unique! Sorry for your loss, by the way man. The loss of a beloved pet is never easy... they become a part of us. I lost my cat, Ian, after 18 years. I thank God everyday that I made it home just in time for his final minute of life. I walked up, helped him out of the blanket he was struggling in, he looked up at me and calmed down, about 8 seconds passed and he stopped breathing.... that cat loved me so much, and I him. ... I have no idea why I gave you the details on that, but either way, I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm glad your sorrow has not seemed to lessened your motivation. Tremendous work man, thank you! The only thing missing was shadow waving off sonic from saving him, as SEGA revealed in one of their youtube twitter takeovers This is ! Love the red hot moon core showing, that is kinda accurate to how it'd look!
Between this or a sonic heroes remake/master, I wouldn’t be able to decide. Heroes would definitely need it more but Adventure 2 getting a remake would also be incredible.
This may not be as soulless looking as the average unreal stuff. But... Biolizard is barely visible here and maybe smaller, super Shadow and Sonic being literally white instead of light yellow and yellow, Sonic dash aura being blue and chaos control being pure green in super form. The ending also doesn't feel as impactful as SA2 animations.
I struggle to find the works to describe how amazing this is! I've lost count how many times i fought this boss, back in the days on the dreamcast. It gave me goosebumps bumps back then, because how great the experience was. And now this amazing fan recreation has giving me that same feeling. Loved every bit of this!

No biolizard is a crime plus then the eggman could have fought longer.

Nicely done @JeliLiam It'll be great to compare this to Sonic Shadow Generation in the fall alongside the 3rd movie. 1st Biolizard fight is definitely in the game, but I doubt we'll see either in the 3rd movie unless the studio really shoots for the moon (literally). We'll see. Great time to be a Sonic fan. Thank you again for making this in Unreal Engine 5.

The amount of times I’ve imagined a modernized this fight would probably completely weird someone out of they were to read my mind. Also the fact that this is probably the first actually reimagine I’ve ever seen of this fight nearly 23 years after the games release genuinely confuses me given this games popularity this only got worst after the Sonic symphony’s Live and Learn for me but finally someone has made it. I think my favorite part of this got to be the beginning with egg man saying their names as they blast past the camera it was just so citematic.

This is amazing! the graphics, The Gameplay it all looks amazing! Not to mention you can see the ark getting closer and closer to the earth it’s a really nice touch!
I love Everything of that, I would have just Appreciate more to see Final Biolizard move more Slowly into Space to Feel it's actually in Space, not just on Earth with Regular Gravity. Outside that, it's Truly Beautiful to Watch! ^^

Awesome job! I really like how the moon is in the background still damaged and the added effect of the ark heading into the atmosphere.

When I was a kid I had a friend who was ~2 years older than me. I really looked up to him and he introduced me to Sonic. I remember once he came over to my house when I was on this boss and we did it together. He played the shadow parts and I played the sonic parts. We lost contact for a while but I found him almost 10 years later. He got kicked out of his house and was hanging out at a local McDonald’s alone. My family and I took him in and the first thing we did was boot up SA2 and hang out like old times.
Visually MUCH better than your previous sonic adventure 1 work. I think what helps is that SA2 was going for a more realistic aesthetic compared to the 1st game so making UE5 remakes won’t look as weird and jarring. It’s not perfect but 100% an improvement over your other projects so good job

I've seen some Unreal Engine recreations of the Sonic Adventure era that try to go for a hyper-realistic look and it just looks wrong once you put Sonic in there.
For a 4 day project, this will impressively well done and a tasteful application of the modern graphics engine.

Holy shit, this looks amazing man! This is not a critque, just a personal preference, but if there is any possible way to give shadow his original color aura... that'd be tight. Why they changed his silver color to gold in every game afterward, I have no idea- it made him even more unique! Sorry for your loss, by the way man. The loss of a beloved pet is never easy... they become a part of us. I lost my cat, Ian, after 18 years. I thank God everyday that I made it home just in time for his final minute of life. I walked up, helped him out of the blanket he was struggling in, he looked up at me and calmed down, about 8 seconds passed and he stopped breathing.... that cat loved me so much, and I him.

This is really good! My only complaint is that sonic and shadow are literal white dots. Their brightness needs to be toned down a notch.
Gameplay looked a bit stiff but the presentation, sense of urgency and graphics, blew me away.

Holy fuck this is amazing! Perfect hype to build up for the movie in December especially after that Project Shadow fan film!
Between this or a sonic heroes remake/master, I wouldn’t be able to decide. Heroes would definitely need it more but Adventure 2 getting a remake would also be incredible.
This may not be as soulless looking as the average unreal stuff. But...
Biolizard is barely visible here and maybe smaller, super Shadow and Sonic being literally white instead of light yellow and yellow, Sonic dash aura being blue and chaos control being pure green in super form. The ending also doesn't feel as impactful as SA2 animations.
I struggle to find the works to describe how amazing this is! I've lost count how many times i fought this boss, back in the days on the dreamcast. It gave me goosebumps bumps back then, because how great the experience was. And now this amazing fan recreation has giving me that same feeling. Loved every bit of this!
