      GitarStu, we are sorry for your difficulties. May we know if you need to fly the drone with the mobile device directly, or fly the drone via the controller and have the transmission image on the mobile device?
      If you need to fly the drone only with the mobile device, please long press the aircraft's function button for about 9 seconds until you hear 3 beepings, and connect the WiFi of it.
      If you need to fly the drone via the controller, as you can fly with the controller, please check the connection between the mobile device and RC, please try another connecting cable, remove the left cable first before using the USB connection port on the bottom. You may also try to reinstall the DJI GO 4 app, if needed, please note to do a backup like syncing the flight record and saving the pics and videos before your reinstallation.
      Please keep us updated if the issue persists, or we misunderstood your case. You can also contact us at m.me/DJISupport or www.dji.com/support.

    For anyone having problems linking the controller, simply turn on the controller without your phone attached, make sure the DJI app isn't open. Then press the flashing yellow light on the back of the drone until it beeps once then turn on the controller hold the Pause, FN and the far right back button on the controller. The controller should start beeping. After a few seconds (with the phone not connected the controller and drone will pair with a green light on the controller and a green flashing light on the drone. Now connect your phone and connect to the drones WiFi which you can do by holding the button on the back of the drone until it beeps 3 times. Connect and enjoy. I do wish this process was made simpler though.

    • @christophercaioni908
      @christophercaioni908 6 лет назад

      I did every step you mentioned but once the controller and drone are paired, after I connect the drone WIFI the controller is not connected anymore. What to do ?

    • @SligStorm
      @SligStorm 6 лет назад +1

      Christopher Caioni Turns out you don't need the drones WiFi. Make sure you phone isn't paired to it and don't even enabled it by holding the button until it bleeps 3 times. Just press the button on the drone until it beeps once and pair the controller with the button combination. Once it's paired this way, every time the drone and controller are turned on you wait until they pair automatically. As long as the drone isn't on the phones WiFi you can connect the controller whenever and just fly once the light turns green on the controller and flashes green on the drone. WiFi isn't needed.

    • @SligStorm
      @SligStorm 6 лет назад

      Christopher Caioni Does the controller and Drone have a green light? Don't open the app until they do and make sure it's not connected to the WiFi. If they are both green after you sync connect the phone and start the app. That's what I did and it's worked ever since.

    • @christophercaioni908
      @christophercaioni908 6 лет назад +1

      they do have a green light but my problem after that when the remote and drone are connected, then my phone is not connected! i cannot connect with wirred connection so only with wifi, once both the controller and the drone have green light, if i try connecting the phone with wifi, the controller is not connected anymore.... you see my issue ?

    • @DJISupportGlobal
      @DJISupportGlobal  4 года назад +1

      Hi there, the drone can be controlled by the RC without the mobile device and app. However, a new drone needs to be activated by the DJI GO 4 app first. Besides, the flight altitude and distance will be limited if the drone and controller have not been connected to the app once in a flight. Hope this provides you with some info.

  • @stankoehler6099
    @stankoehler6099 6 лет назад

    Here's what worked for me: Follow the DJI Go 4 app directions under Wired Connection. In about step 3 where it states hooking up the mobile device, make sure to connect at that point (I had to disconnect and the reconnect the micro USB connection). That triggers the directions to continue and allow the rest of the linking process to start up.

    Hi, I'm a newbie with a question in regards to using the remote controller; I understand when the right joystick is pushed up with the camera facing you the Mavic Air will move away from you. If you pull down, it will come back to you. Left is left and right is right. Now my question; If the Mavic Air camera is away from you does the joysticks act in an opposite manner? Example; down is forward, up is back towards you, left is right, right is left? I can't find any info. on this anywhere. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you, Ray

    The BEEP BEEP BEEP on the RC is really painful during the linking process (especially considering that most of the time it doesn't work) I really don't understand the use of such a LOUD beep in any other situation than DANGER.

      Hi crollens, we are sorry to hear about the issue you encountered. May we know if you have a Mavic Air controller?
      There are 4 types cases with a beeping RC in the majority situation:
      1. Extremely low battery, charger it;
      2. Firmware upgrading failure, upgrade it again;
      3. RC sticks are not at the midpoint, calibrate it;
      4. Disconnect with the drone after 5mins, re-link the drone and the RC.
      Please check if it meets your case, if the issue persists after calirbating the controller, please check if there is any abnormal input on the controller, if so, please send it back to our service center for further diangosis and service.

    The biggest problem anyone is having is the fact this aircraft is labeled as being connected wifi. So upon purchasing, most people think they have to connect the wifi of their phone to the air craft for it to work. This leaves mass confusion because once connected to wifi, your controller is no longer connected. The reality is that the wifi connection method is for virtual controller ONLY. And that version of wifi is very limited in range. The correct way to connect this is to link the remote controller and then connect it to your mobile device via the USB cable, NOT WIFI. You then click enter device and view mode. You never actually connect your mobile device via wifi. Wifi is what they are calling the connection between the RC Controller and the Drone. The controller is the connection to the drone, and then your mobile device is only connected to the controller to transmit the app commands and the video signal. You don't even put your mobile device wifi on, unless you want a virtual controller and very limited range. It's probably one of the most stupid and confusing things in the world world, but i finally figured it out. I hope this helps someone.

      Hello there,
      I'm sorry but i realy think that this drone is controlled by a wifi signal which is transmitted from the tx.
      The reason for this is...I have only one other drone as apposed to a GPS quad copter of
      which i have three as well.
      I got my first drone back in 2015...it was a Parrot BeBop which i insisted on buying even after all of the advice and warning's i had recieved from various contact's I had when i was on a Multi Rotor Forum on FB.
      I paid a similar price for that machine that came with a rediculous Big orange monstrosity of a tx which you also mounted your mobile device to.
      The Parrot BeBop1 was very similar in design to the Mavic appart from the folding arm's and over all portabillity.
      As with the Mavicair...the Parrot was a bit difficult to master in comparison to a regular quad copter.
      In fact...I had noting but trouble from day one with that unit...It was constantly needing updates and recalibrating.
      I lost count of the amount of time's it flew away on me always at very low altitude and close to the Tx which is also wifi.
      I have never once had any control issue with FHSS controlled quad copter's which all of mine are,,,from my first Hubsan H107 which i got back in 2014 to the 3 other 350 size GPS quad copter's I bought between 2016/17.
      like i said...the Mavic is my second drone and i have had very similar issue's from the slightly less complicated updateing and calibration procedures.
      I got my Mavic air two week's ago and i've had to do a fair amount of update's and recallibration.
      Also...the drone lost connection with the Tx the other day at just 10 meter's directly above...it veered to a point 29 meter's away and dropped 1 meter (behind a structure) almost as if it were playing hide and seek with me...to my great relief it returned to home about 75 second's later.
      Lesson learned...i will never fly this machine in a built up Urban area again.
      Over all...I am happy with the Mavic air and i am satisfied with DJI Help and support so far.
      I am still on a slow but gradual learning curve with this machine and hope to start using the more advanced features in the very near future.

      I am confused. So many vids on boosting wi fi, selecting channel, etc. The DJI tech told me you don't need wi fi if you're using yhe remote

    • @rcfanaticdublin
      @rcfanaticdublin 5 лет назад

      Hello Tamlin,
      i was confused myself untill i had a total loss of signal at close range in a Densely populated area.
      this would never happen with a regular rc machine which utilises FHSS transmittion to control the air craft.
      the transmitton method used with the Mavic air is called Enhanced WiFi..(As explained to me by DJI).
      while you see the symbol 5.8g in the app...what that actualy mean's is that your machine is connected with the Tx on the highest band of WiFi...hence the term Enhanced.
      Unfortunately this pose's a problem when trying to fly in a built up (Urban) area as many of the latest Smart Phone's have what is known as Dual Band WiFi to connect to smart Device's and other app controlled Gadget's including other brands of Drone's such as the Parrot Rolling Drone's and the Tello drone which is a beginner machine you can fly indoors using an App.

    I bought my Mavic air, I managed to do a 4 or 5 flights with it, after that the remote control no longer connects to the Drone, I have tried all the procedures including, bring it to the factory default, and whenever I use the DJi Assitence when arriving at 100% accuse an error and asks to restart the process, I have been waiting for a 3 months for a solution from DJi but until this moment I did not get any better answer than to send the drone to the factory. It happens that I am in Brazil and this is not feasible.
    Has anyone ever had this problem? Is there any solution to get the upgrades done by DJi Assistence?

      Hi Robert, please help to confirm if the drone and RC are connected properly, you can try to check by whether the gimbal can be controlled by the RC. If the gimbal can be controlled, the drone and RC are connected.
      For starting the motor, if you are in Beginner mode, please go to a place with good GPS signal, refer to the way to start and stop the motors on page 49 on the manual to get the propellers started, you can also try to use the takeoff trigger on the DJI GO 4 app. See if this helps. dl.djicdn.com/downloads/Mavic%20Air/20180525/Mavic%20Air%20User%20Manual%20v1.2.pdf

    Well there MAY be a "simple"workaround for this problem and then again there may NOT be one. I've yet to see a solution that is simple or even one that is reliable even if it's not simple. Bottom line is that for what the consumer pays for this product, they really shouldn't expect so much trouble out of the box. If this problem is as big as it seems, why are solutions not included in the box with some DETAILED help files? Is it not obvious that this problem isn't limited to people who are clueless or newbies? Personally, I was super excited to try this new and exciting device only to be completely discouraged and EXTREMELY annoyed by the difficulty in connecting it. I went from excited to a whole lot of other undesirable emotions that I wasn't expecting. I know i'm not alone here. It is a shame that the manuals included (or the ones online) are inadequate in resolving this problem. More good customer service is expected here considering the cost no? Cheers to those who aren't employed by DJI for attempting to assist those like myself in their moment of disgust and disbelief. I just wish that DJI would have put more thought and effort into helping its customers. Please make it right DJI and provide more detailed documentation and or videos. To many, trying their 1st drone experience is hard enough (not to mention costly) to learn to safely and adequately fly a drone not to mention even getting it off the ground.

      BTW, the WiFi we replied to the OP is not the internet source, but the WiFi that launches from the aircraft, which is used for connecting the aircraft and mobile device directly. Thank you for your attention.

      Thank you. I managed to figure out how to get it off the ground and be able to fly. My advice is for DJI to invest more in user manuals and get a more comprehensive set of videos. I have to rely on independent youtube channels to learn how to use your product. Thanks all the same@@DJISupportGlobal

    Totally upset with my mavic air today, I use it for spotting lost dogs. I went out today to find a dog and my drone won't connect to the controller, I've uninstall go 4, reinstaled and still no luck. Totally disappointed and left a family gutted as couldn't help them.

      I've sussed out that the dji software is not compatible with modern Samsung phones, so I'm selling my dji to replace it with a Parrot drone.

    I am so fed up with this product. Linking the remote to the drone is an on going issue. I have tried all the ways your video suggests and it does not work. If I knew I was going to have this much
    problem I would not have bought it. I cannot recommend Mavic air to anyone.

      Stable of Speed
      , we feel sorry for your trouble. For the linking issue, please kindly help to confirm if you had updated the firmware for both the RC and drone to the latest version. Besides, please check if you can control the gimbal by the RC, if you can, the drone has already connected to the RC, you may need to check the connecting between the RC and mobile device.
      If you had updated the firmware to the latest version but the drone and RC keeps disconnecting, please kindly provide us with an operating video for further confirmation. You can send us the video via Facebook Messenger: bit.ly/2pm7tfV. Or you may need to send the drone in for diagnosis. Thank you for your understanding.

      @@DJISupportGlobal I have done all that is required, not just by your video but have tried other suggestions. What I am finding is that by the time I get connected the batteries are low. This has been a daily occurrence. What is the point of selling a product that obviously has a design fault. I am not the only person complaining about this issue.

    Awful beeping terrible design, clunky interface, glitchy app. a really poor user experience every time I go to fly this pos. the app hates apple and android. The constant app warnings about being in ever present flight paths makes this drone damn near unusable five years later.

      @@DJISupportGlobalI use a pixel 3XL and an iphone 13 pro. ive tried dgi pilot and dji go 4 apps. neither apps really work that well both apps will hard lock my windows phone trying to open, and my iphone works for 10-20 minutes before the heat buildup becomes an issue, i was hoping for a dedicated controller solution for the mavic. Using a flight app on a phone that is designed to lock every 30 seconds or over heat with constant screen usage was not a good design move, and thats when the drone can actually get off the ground without needed constant compass recalibration or the controller alarm attracting a security guard, or homeless person to come have a conversation about what i'm doing.
