Totally agree regarding your comments on Newcastle. Really struck me when they beat us at VP earlier in the year how full on their style of play is. Constant pressure on the ball. Playing like that will always catch up with a team eventually over a long season.
I checked the rule. VAR by the rule, are not allowed to go back to when possession was gained. Watkins hand never even touched the ball. VAR was a disgrace. Villa took a bit to get going. But thoroughly deserved the win

Think the Conference League gave this squad a really good grounding in European football which will help this season.
