Philogene superb. I love games when wingers swap wings, always makes a game more memorable, such as Saka for england this summer. I thought he was going to go for the overhear kick for the disallowed goal, but smartly dealt with it and earned a ghost assist (infront of the Holte End). bayern were very good and the margins were in our favour,,,,, just,,, but we can play like that and have shown we can keep a clean sheet if the god in goal is on it,,,,,, and there was so much space to get at them and we came close but duran just nailed it

Bailey was not 100% fit, unusually we got into the ground early , we sit lower Holte row H right at the front and he was undergoing a fitness test away from the other players and his right leg was strapped by the knee. He’s never great if he’s not confident in his body and Emery recognised this and subbed him off early.
Ah, interesting you spotted that. I agree entirely that he underperforms when he isn't confident in how his body holds up. Might explain why he had a tough year or so when he joined Villa as he had a lot of injuries. UTV!
if we do end up having to sell Duran... he can NOT go to a prem team... has to go to europe, cant have chelsea have him banging in screamers against emi lol
Ref was an outrage. Always the same issue with euro competitions and even world cups. UEFA and FIFA try and spread the nationality of referees really wide but the standard drops below acceptable level. Romanian ref just hasnt got the experience or skillset to spot cynical and professional fouling.
