    Such a great lure. Excellent video. I've switched from using the Kreh Loop to a clinch for 27MR and 17MR. It definitely keeps the leader from tangling around the forward hook.

      I know that one here and there have that issue unfortunately. But I put them in a separate box for fishing skinny, clear water when sonic sound is a negative. Always appreciate your input TC!

    Love it!!! Thank you for all your tips. This lure has always been a tough one for me AND I own over 80 of them. Got on a kick with them. I have mastered the action BUT your mentions are noted. FYI - your Cajun Chew is amazing down here in STP-TPA area. Especially at night.

    One additional technique I’ve found that works surprisingly well is trolling a mirrodine in my kayak until I find where the fish are. It’s got very low drag through the water and trolls very well on shallow flats without getting hung up on bottom like a crankbait does. Just something to consider

    Biggest red i caught on the flat was on a suspended twitch mullet hard bait. Sits perfectly in the middle of the column of water in 2 to 3ft with a nice chill retrieve mixed with stops! It was not mirror dean but it dosnt quite matter what brand! Just right presentation at the right time! Biggest trout and red on hard plastic!

    My box is mainly 27mr’s but I think it’s good for now. About half are from Texas customs. May need to rethink the 17 sizes

    • @flatsclassyoutube5502
      @flatsclassyoutube5502  6 дней назад +1

      Honestly Tony I like the 27MR size the most but the majority of anglers buy the 17MR because it catches everything!

    I agree bait casters are more sporty and accurate for me at least. I fish spinning reels alot too. But bait casters are deadly accurate if u know what ur doing

    • @flatsclasscharters
      @flatsclasscharters 5 дней назад

      I know a bunch of anglers who are at Flats Class University that are deadly accurate with spinning gear but that being said… the lure speed and ability to use various line weights gives the casting reels a huge advantage

    I only have to work Monday next week and if it's not ugly out I'll definitely be fishin' as much as possible. There's a good spot to wade for trout near my house, if I use my waders and thermal. It's a place where lots of people use Mirrolures so I'll try mine. I have a new Salt Strong Flea Flicker that's very similar to try also.

    Definitely not a fan of inlines with the 14MR and 17MR. Changes everything about the bait when you switch them out. I still use a loop knot 80% of the time. Only in windy and skipping mangroves do I use a clinch. Great content Cap!

  • @auggyboy284
    @auggyboy284 6 дней назад +3

    Hey Capt, you mentioned using a clinch knot for consistent action. How would speed clips or tactical clips affect the action?

    • @MysteryOutdoors
      @MysteryOutdoors 6 дней назад

      From my experience after a couple redfish a clip will break

    • @flatsclassyoutube5502
      @flatsclassyoutube5502  6 дней назад +1

      They actually act the same way as a loop knot which allows front hook to foul too often… just my opinion

      @@MysteryOutdoors The Tactical Anglers clips are super solid. I’ve caught Striped Bass in the 20lb to 30lb class frequently.

    15:22 big thumbs up for "mash the barbs down". Tiny thumbs down for not inline... Can play with sizing and thickness to get action right but true can't always.
