The rant about people being angry over palworld can unfortunately apply to sooo many games now. People *need* negativity in their lives in order to feel something, and algorithms know that. I’m just glad there’s people like you who aren’t caving into the negative hive mind for views.
Also, this is coming from someone who hasn’t even played palworld yet. I see my friends having fun with it and that’s really cool to see.
@windebiesteultima3317 I agree. I haven't played Palworld, but yeah, the internet as a whole is too polarizing. Everyone at each others throat. I've actually had thoughts about making a new social media site that will hopefully disincentivize people being negative, but I have no idea how I would do that effectively.

@@PyroIce1I don't think that would work large scale as big social media is too top heavy, too much power centralized in whomever or whatever is running it, and that kind of power *will* attract the kind of people you don't want having that kind of power. The resource costs alone would open numerous subversion vectors, for example, the people who finances things want to make money, and happiness doesn't make enough for them, so they'll pull out unless you compromise the entire project.
I think going back to the earlier internet, with hundreds of smaller, more niche messaging boards run by people more intimately involved would be better, but then you run into issues with convenience, security and consistency. We as a species demand efficiency, and thus prefer solutions that puts everything all under one roof. I am not convinced that my idea would survive long term either, I mean the decentralized earlier internet has died and turned into this hyper-centralized corporate nightmare that we all know and love after all.
Honestly, I do not know how to remedy this either, and I think neither do the people that run our society, they simply have contented themselves with taking advantage of the flaws that do persist to maximize their own personal benefit, even if at the expense of others. Everything is a mess, but at least we have people still making the best of what is offered.
Every day, we get new games developed by single devs on shoestring budgets, new songs made by passionate artists and fantastic stories made by people who wanted to make movies all their lives but weren't hired by hollywood. Every day dreams are being made by people who believe in them. We just gotta try to be the change we want to see in the world. Try to be reasonable, try to find good things to believe in and stick by them, just *try* to not succumb to the bullshit being crammed down our throats by miserable people trying to have company in their quagmire of self perpetuating agony. It's not a perfect solution, but until we all collectively get superpowers and can magic our problems away (hopefully that'll come sooner than later lol, I want me some lazer eyes), it'll have to do.

You want Pokémon dmc? That's basically spectrobe origins for the wii. Sad we will never get a sequel cus it was made by Disney,also had a very unique "capture" mechanic where you brought fossils back to life.

Exactly, if Nintendo/Game Freak didn't get complacent there wouldn't be a space for Palworld to fill. But because they did Pocket Pair/Palworld took that hole they left and filled it with something of their own. Their negligence is the exact reason why Palworld succeeded.
glad you talked about this game. it's crazy how this game gotten so many controversies going on. I tried it and it's not for me. yeah it's crazy how people are going on about the pals looking like Pokemon and needs to get DMCA'd by Big Nintendo

I'm a little disappointed that there isn't nearly as much ruins, different camps, and fighting humans aren't nearly as chaotic as it leads on. Also, no vehicles and the AI when trynna automate things freaks out a ton.
Other than that, 10/10 I got over 120 hours in it so far and counting.
Keep in mind this is an early access game and the devs have stated it's only about 60% complete currently.
pls cover Zortch - I usually don't advertise games in the comments, but it's a hidden gem you certainly will enjoy. oldschool fps that's so authentic and well made you hopefully will love it, I'd love to hear your thoughts about it.
Man, I remember when people got upsetti over Genshin copying things from BoTW, then realized the story was amazing, the gameplay was fun and the designs and world are beautiful. The pokemon fans will subside their anger once the game has been around long enough for some of them to go "....hmmm maybe I'll just try it. JUST TO SHOW HOW BAD IT IS OF COURSE!"

Yeah the AI criticism didnt make sense to me either given this game was in development for certainly a few years while AI arttools only really have been around since 2022 or so.
it makes extra less sense when you actually take into account what they are saying which is:
The dev likes AI, he made an social deduction art game where one player is actually using AI art to draw.
There is literally no, nada, ZERO proof about Palworld using AI, it's nothing more then an adhominem attack.

Palworld is clearly a parody of Pokemon and one couldn't exist without the other, but also Pokemon was obviously inspired by Dragon Quest and Shin Megami Tensei to the point where several of Gen 1 are direct 1-to-1 copies of DQ monsters. And that's alright, video games are iterative. Nobody points out Nintendo's obvious Namco envy in the early years of the NES or how the trajectory of arcade games are clones of more popular titles that spun off into their own direction. People are airing their grievances with Game Freak and Pokemon Company and it's like you don't have to defend a billion dollar mega franchise, Pokemon will still sell more copies than the bible without your help.
I like the dragon but as weird as it might be to say, I also enjoy seeing your face.

Thanks Jarek, I never knew about ALOT of those games till you brought them up in your "Their not playing it because it's not Pokemon" as I'm new to Steam and PC (Well new in that I'm just RECENTLY getting back into PC gaming after 18 years of being a Console "good boy" LOL! Still am a "good boy" but I want to EXPAND how I'm playing my games and many PC only's got my interest!) I really don't give a FUCK about that "Oh I have to be loyal to a brand just cause" because I love what I love and I enjoy what I enjoy! I'm only as loyal as you keep me loyal (meaning disrespect me or try to trick me out of my money for no reason but greed, and I WILL go to your competitor! Great thing about competition is if done right, it will keep a side's nose clean....especially if they get greedy and lazy and notice their loss of sales because of it that make them "about face" whatever stupid scheme a Executive with too much clot and not enough sense was able to put in the boards mind! Some like Disney it may be too late before the idiots lose enough power that the pull back at last on the stupid shit costing them money! But others like Nintendo REALLY need some slaps in reality to start improving lest Spiritual successors of their properties they CAN'T Cease & Desist/Sue cost them money! As this will force them to UP THEIR GAME! Especially in the Pokémon department with how GAMEPLAY WISE Scarlet and Violet were treated (seriously never thought I'd see a half broke mess like S/V! I know they don't care about the laziness of OTHERS using their hardware! But they've usually AVOIDED making those same mistakes with THEIR OWN PROPERTIES! As you could trust them to not be that lazy. But they got complacent and they need competition in THEIR neck of the woods to avoid fucking up more (they don't NEED to compete with Steam/PC OR Sony/Microsoft! A primarily Halo, Destiny and CoD gamer, I have sunk my teeth viciously into this game. I have difficulty deciding if I want to play Baldur’s Gate, Armored Core or Palworld right now. It’s a problem. I was sold when I first saw the trailers to this game and fuck me running they have my full attention.
It's interesting how for once in Steam,We got ourselves an Early Access that isn't busted or broken on release and is surprisingly Fun, Content Rich, Polished, Optimized and Affordable comparing to the ones it's been compared such are Ark and of course Pokemon
and yet unsurprisingly Twitter has a special kind of Spiteful Hate boner for this specific game purely because it's doing very well and some dude found an excuse to accuse the game for plagiarizing,using AI generated model and ripped Assets just so everyone can also hate the game.
It's just too damn spiteful and people are still trying to sabotage the game by spamming Nintendo to a point they actually came out and made a response in which to no one surprise, They denied all accusations.
Like....Where was that same heat when Pokemon released all half arsed,half baked,broken,ugly and over priced ?

I'm amazed that I haven't seen anyone call it a Breath of the Wild ripoff due to it having a glider and being able to climb any vertical wall. Lord knows they will at some point

Surprise how many people complain about the monster design being too pokemon like. I don't see the problem really, because games like og doom have borrowed its iconic demon designs from d&d. I wonder why people aren't moaning about that?
Game isn't for me, it looks cool and I understand why people enjoy. I honestly maybe interested if it's like cybersleuth digimon but expanded to be like this game, but no guns just the monsters and maybe your hacker ability skill to help them and yourself.

for early access its one of the most polished games iv played, its by no means flawless but its pretty good for whats already in the game
18 million sales now, what the hell!!! i mean... dont get me wrong i bought it iv so far played it for just over 199 hours, but i struggle to belive what im seeing, so many player,s so much success, for an indie game its almost unheard of!... this is th ekind of thing that happens maybe once in 10 years! like with minecraft!. the modding scene for this games exploding just as fast too! its awesome i already got a list of quality of life mods, and cheat mods to get rid of the game mechanics im not into like weapon duribility and hunger, also you can give the chikipis bewbs... : 3 modding! XD ahhaahahahaah!! wtf!!... sigh/... :3 yeah i put on some lewd mods to like the one that makes the female characters breasts bigger. and the mod that turns jetragon into an actual jet!
Nintendo is a trend-setter, but they are really bad at following it up. They are good at putting out great ideas, but fail to capitalize on it and often follow it up by focusing on the wrong things.

and the funniest part is, the game is kinda like your average forgettable survival open world game. that also is better than anything we got the past few years. THIS IS WILD.
I was never really into turn based strategy games in general, I hate card games with a passion, and I'm a hardcore PC gamer. I want to like Pokemon, it's a cool looking world, but there's just never been anything for me, except for maybe the animated shows I liked growing up. Palworld is the first game I saw that even tried to scratch my pokemon itch, and honestly, it's done a pretty good job at it. I love how it's a freeform rpg type game where I can actually help my pals, instead of just standing there barking orders like a walking monster vending machine like the pokemon games make me feel like.
I feel that a big chunk of Palworld's success is because gamefreak simply has just outright refused to innovate, either by breaking into the PC market or by developing new kinds of games. Pokemon is a huge world, with rich lore and all kinds of ideas and concepts to explore, but they just keep making the same game over and over again for the same people.
Pokemon has: Keys, Bats, Slimes, Cats, Wolves, Dragons, Horses, Ghosts...

Pokemon has so many obscenely basic designs, that similarities are inevitable. If anything, people pointing out similarities just points out how lackluster a lot of Pokemon designs really are.
Okay there's a ton of things you can say about pokemon but lacklaster designs isn't one of them
I don't why people are angry about the "abuse" in this game, some people really have no seen Conan exiles where you beat people into submission.
Lets be real here, those of us who played pokemon, who at some point, under some influence, we said "I wish I could give Lucario a revolver and go ye haw chuckle fucks, you yeed your last haw!"
Also another thing, riding your pokemon as mounts, in pokemon the best was aquatic to go over water and lets be real, we as humans are not adapted for water nor without extensive and years of training, swim lessons, we will last long in the open water.
Riding flyers to get to discovered locations is great, then pokemon Arceus does not give you the open of riding and instead restricts it to one specific pokemon.. Never played but I was disappointed, the game still has merit.
As for putting your pals to work... Seriously people? Pokemon in lore are used similar in the setting, fire types to help heat homes or start fires, water types to put out fires, flying to deliver letters and such, certain bugs to collect fruit and pollinate and so on.
Also slaughtering your own pals for materials? I am sorry but I played Ark, I played Conan exiles and I can tell you that this is a major waste of time and resources to slaughter your own tame, especially in ark where you will have to sacrifice your tames to tame certain and very specific animals which ultimately not worth it.

Have you thought how perhaps this game isn't like Conan Exiles? I played Palworld and the real use of Slaughtering is for early game resources or really, if you have pokemons with shitty traits, like having your direwolf be both pacifist and brittle.
It's so easy getitng new pokemons that you don't really lose anything.
Palworld is going to be forgotten about in a few months. Look what happened to Valheim and V Rising. It's just another hyped up survival game in a dry month of gaming.
