Yes, I've read that the earlier version of the RotoVibe is better but I'm not sure what's different in the actual circuit. If you know, please comment and share.
I've had a couple of Deja Vibes, Sweet Sound Mojo Vibe, and some others. Use a Rotovibe now, an older JH4S. It's 3 pedals to me: vibe, phaser and vibrato. Love it.
Don't mind the sound of the Rotovibe...I love Univibes but the more throbby the more you are aware of it as an effect ...a more subtle use is less in your face but it can impart a sort of gentle psychedelic swirl to rhythm playing that is less obtrusive and melds into the tune more easily.
I have all 3 of these pedals, my Deja vibe is an early hand wired version though. All great pedals. I really like the Dunlop roto vibe it has internal trim pots that you can dial in for more throb.
I think that if you (knew that there are; I don't think that you even know they are there) tweaked the internal pots on the RotoVibe, you would rate it as the best of the three. The Fulltone is decent, but nothing as lush as the RotoVibe once you dial in the internal pots (there are just two of them, and they are easy to adjust).
I wish someone would do an in depth video on how to do this. I adjusted mine but the pot closer to the front of the pedal seems to be the only one that does anything. Finally got it sounding good but it took awhile. Pot closer to the front at about 9:00 and other one at about 6:00.
If I didn’t do this in the video, I’m sorry. It would have been an oversight as I’ve used it a ton and know it so well that I forget that others are not me. It has a very usable speed range. The slow is just right to still be heard and the fast has that rapid “laser gun” sound but doesn’t ever turn into a ring mod.
I cannot understand how or why he's for lack of a better word, "slamming" the rotovibe it seems to me to 'throb' very well, plenty of 'life' not dull by ANY means, also the intensity knob was NEVER demonstrated, if you take the time to work the intensity knob it has more than enough range hi's low's and yes, there's even middle ground with plenty to spare. At one point the youtuber guy backs off pedal because there is too much speed and range for him so it seems quite obvious that he's somewhat biased and not all that genuinely honest about the capabilities of the "Rotovibe" pedal. I for one would like congratulate Dunlop on manufacturing a wonderful, unique, and very dynamic piece as far as these types of effects units go. I'm just surprised how frankly, dishonest the reviewer is and I wonder what the motivation for such bias is. Respectfully, thanks. J.
Your ears got better? Wow!, you are a unique one. All of us are getting older, while you're hearing is possibly getting better! What else are you getting better at. Not dissing, just curious. Perhaps you know something we all do not? Respectfully, Thanks. j.

Is there any significant difference in the Dunlop JD-4 and JH-4 Rotovibes ??? The "JD-4" is for Jim Dunlop and the "JH-4" obviously stands for Jimi Hendrix, which is the reason I bought a Rotovibe when they first came out. But is their any circuitry differences that you know of? I was about to pull the trigger and get another Rotovibe, but you changed my mind, and I'm going to get either the blue or the cream Deja Vibe. Yeah, I agree with you on the BS 🐂💩 on the Black Lives Matters issue, he should have have kept his ignorant opinions to himself. That's one of the good things the hippy era was about, creating a utopian society of peace and brotherly love. I guess that we can put a sticker or something over the Fulltone name !!!
i love my Fulltone pedal, now i heard your story about the woke part, i love it even more, not leaving my pedalboard ... even more looting going on now, i don't support woke and people wining about everything
Amen dude. Mike Fuller wasn’t drinking the Kool Aid and asked some legitimate questions that the woke mob subsequently piled on and used to paint him as some sort of bigot. It was absolute BULLSHIT. I will do everything I can to support Mike’s business and any future endeavors he dives into.
The best sounding Rotovibe are the early ones JH-4S. You can just leave it on all the time hell down and rocket to accentuate chords. Love it.

I love my rotovibe. Dunlop really should do a truebypass version with a less craptastic buffer stage.

I love the Univibe..In my opinion Jimi Hendrix's best sound was Electric Ladyland..I like the Fulltone the best.. Thank you.

Awesome! @@JeffStarr
Good review. The Deja Vibe is an awesome pedal!
Fulltone pedals have always been at the top in quality and sound.
good video but how did you not rock the pedal back and forth on the fulltone??

All 'Vibes Matter, but I'll be getting a Fulltone.
I’ll recently picked up a Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe+ that I’ll be comparing to the DejaVibe. Should be epic!
Go ahead, berate Mike Fuller, or grow up. I'm not up for your kind of bad talking someone accused of being politically incorrect.

I made a follow up video about the Rotovibe and what internal trim pots do: ruclips.net/video/Bo_gFknOP-w/видео.html
I have the original Rotovibe and it's amazing in chorus mode also owned the dejavibe and didn't love it
I’m sure the Rotovibe was better years ago. Maybe my ears got better because it sounds terrible to me now.
To be fair to the Rotovibe, I think it sounds better in this recording than I expected. I didn’t care for how it sounded in the room though.
@@JeffStarr I have an old Dunlop UniVibe. I plugged it in a few days ago and it sounded unimpressive. There are so many great vibes on the market now.
Any specific vibe pedals you like these days?

Did you turn the internal
Pots up on the roto? It really throbs.
Yes, I posted a follow up video to demo this: ruclips.net/video/Bo_gFknOP-w/видео.html
