we dont know if they escaped though, and infact it is more plausible that they actually died in the escape and got pulled into the pacific ocean.

@@ChristopherGray00 no, there’s more of a chance that they made it considering a numerous amount of things. Bodies were never found, footprints leading onto angel island along with the raft. Another thing is that they’re still looking for them, even though they’re “dead”😉

The only survivor was Clearance Carnes who was spared due to his age of 19 as well as for the mercy he had shown toward the bullet ridden captives. He spent the next 7 years in D-Block before becoming a collaborating informant in the 1962 Great Escape. The other 2 participants Sam Shockley and Miran Thompson were executed at San Quientin's gas chamber.
