Diamond c anyway I can get a video of a deck over tilt with the 2 12k axels. I have contacted via Facebook a few times but I don't think the person running the Facebook knows what they are doing
They said the 12k jacks would be mounted to the deck and not the frame

I remember the video where Andrew Camarata's trailer had to be repaired b/ of the stress fracture break in the C-channel. Andrew carries some heavy machinery. Hopefully your trailer holds up for many decades. Great review and thank you. I intend to get a Diamond C trailer then I'll do a review as you had done. 👍🏽🙂
Hey Carson! Good detailed review - thank you for your effort at being fair and thorough. I guess it's about as good as can be expected for a high-volume production unit. It would be easy to nit-pick the welding (I'm a CWI and a welding instructor), but by the time you get all of those welds in the way that most welders would expect them to be done, you'd be looking at a $25,000 trailer! (And DC would be two years behind in production!) I agree with the issue of the stress raiser between the frame doubler and the lead spring hanger; you're certainly going to want to keep an eye on that area. The right side usually cracks first for two reasons: the camber of the road places more weight on that side, and the shoulder of the road has more pot holes. The convexity of the welds on the outside of the gooseneck members shouldn't be a problem, but I was disappointed to see just having tack welds on the inside. Seems like that's gonna be a corrosion trap. You might want to put a bead of silicone or urethane sealer along the inside of that joint to keep it from holding moisture. Keep up the good work!

This is what I was looking for
2 things I have done to my last 2 trailers that makes them more durable. 1 I have al surfaces were stones can hit the trailer covered with bed liner and I have the beaver tail and fenders done too. 2nd I have the trailer sprayed with Krown rust proofing underneath.

Took the words right out of my mouth! I had Line-X spray all of the stone chip prone areas on my gooseneck, and I spent 8 hours spraying Krown underneath the trailer...crossmembers, I beams,, axles, hidden tight spots. I jacked it up and basically worked front to back.
Good review. I agree, this trailer is adequate for the average joe. If you can keep road salt off of it and store it under cover when not in use the longevity will be very good.
I am a welder by trade. With that being said all trailer manufacturers have the same problem with poor welds and splatter being left on the plate that I would be ashamed to let go and let people see that it looks extremely unprofessional
Some of those welds look like the first time I put wire to steel- HORRIBLE. For the price of these trailers (and Diamond C seems to be one of the best) workmanship like that should never roll off the lot without being corrected IMHO.
Personally I think they price is pretty competitive from all brands. Andrew Ralph has a RUclips series where he builds a Gooseneck Trailer to to behind his Ford Raptor. He did a phenomenal job! But the cost for materials alone was at or above what you can buy a trailer from a dealer. The margins must be pretty tight. I’m sure they get a discount on bulk materials and all but I can see what your saying. You would think that someone has the ultimate build quality that blows the competition out of the water. I’ve seen poor, good and better quality. Still waiting to find the absolute premium builder.

Very good review. I had some issues with my FMAX212, but Jacob Crabb made good on his word and took care of everything, even though TrailerWorld put up a fight to do anything. Jacob made sure the trailer was right. I was impressed with Diamond C, so much so that I'm about to order a FMAX312 with triple axles, and upgrade to the 40k pound specs.
I've been watching your warranty process. It appears that Jacob is really involved with their reputation and is willing to do what it takes to keep customers happy. From what I've seen so far I'm definitely impressed with Diamond C.
@@ThriftyGarage The dealer was a disaster, but Diamond C, specifically Jacob Crabb made sure things were right. Many people expressed dislike that I took to RUclips with the problem, but if I had not done it, the dealer, Trailerworld, would not have done a thing to fix the problem. Little problems can turn into big problems, and a manufacturer that acts like a little problem is no big deal is not any better than a vendor selling cheap Chinese products that they know will break quickly and be thrown away. Quality matters! Because Jacob stepped up, I will be buying more Diamond C trailers in time.
@@ThriftyGarage Well I am having a problem with my 3 month old Diamond C trailer. The 7k torsion axles used on this trailer are over rated. I had 9200# GVW and the axles went tits up after a 200 mile trip. Diamond C are trying to weasel out of the warranty, claiming these axles when loaded correctly can not fail by hauling a load such as mine. Keith Barnes is claiming it must be user error. Well we will just see who has the final word here.
Dealer support makes a huge difference. I’ve reached out to my dealer with a few issues and they have been great to work with so far.
@@ThriftyGarage From the looks of your trailer, Diamond C must have ran out of paint during the build. There are many flaws in the finish work. Guess that's what we get when buying a trailer with weak quality control (:
the width boards on top can b composite decking boards & wood underneath stays dry & no sun damage.
Great video, love how in depth it was. No trailer is perfect, not even close, but Diamond C does a good job, some other brands would have been a way longer video with all the wrong cap. Spray can white lithium grease in the trailer jack handle really helps keep it smooth

lumber & plysheet comes in diff grades, boards hve knot grade & less knots, & ply has framing or finish/cabinet or exterior grade
I think the cross beams are put there because that’s where the weight of the load will be sitting so added support is a good thing. Like a skid steer
I agree! Looks like they did their homework.
Watch out for wasp nest build up in the front box in warm months. I had to seal up open areas in mine (pj trailer). Could happen with any brand.

If u want double tail light the need to stake vertical to keep from getting ticket.
The boards being staggered believe it or not is a huge portion of the strength of the trailer overall
I’m not worried about it being structural. More or less an area to get snagged by equipment/materials and damaged.

double decking the board like back road bridge would b an easy upgrade.
Diamond C makes some beautiful trailers, but the welds and quality control on this one missed the mark.
those boat steering wheels vs handle jacking up would make a diff, even girl 110 lbs both hands could jack it up, better design.
The welds look fine, it’s a bit built up weld reinforcement, looks robotic welded.

How loud are the ramps going down the road
I never notice them. I don’t think they make much noise if anything at all.
axles r under tremendous loading needs improvement some kind of tri axle shaft 3 holes acting as 1 that spins around. Instead of 1 big mother axle, 3 little all turning together smaller axles in triangle formation. U get 3 bearing not 1 to fail killer problem all at once. U can hve 1 big bearing that rounded 3 but then u hve 4 not 1 bearing. 3 & 1. A crack or bad axle doesn't crash out just gives out & other take the load.
I bought a diamond c trailer that I tow behind my rv. The welds are atrocious.
Very disappointed in the welds. Looks good from far but far from good. My rig gets a lot of attention. But when I show the welds nobody wants any more info on diamond c.
Very sad.
I've seen way worse welds on other brands. Have you seen another brand that has better welds?

I would not be happy with this trailer. My 25' lamar bumper pull has two jacks on the front fat ramps on the back and an 8" I beam frame, 16" stack ahead of the axles. This trailer you purchased was a "training trailer" watch for failure in all areas. Scary welds for sure!!!!! Thanks for the video!!
Usually if the jack feels "gritty" it means the jack was ran through sand blast and is full of media.

I'm a real welder. That weeks looks fine
I have a similar trailer except mines not gooseneck. I didn’t get the conspicuity tape or the rubrail on mine which I believe is 96” wide with drive over fenders. Oh and mines only 10k. Initially I was told it was 14k but anyways I’m pleased with it as it gets used daily.
The bad:
I had a car pull out and almost run up on the trailer and when I reached out to Diamond C for support for the paint code and replacement parts I was left in the dark. Very disappointed in Diamond C on that.
Diamond C has touch up paint available on their website. What color paint code do you need? The codes have been shared numerous times on the DC Trailer Owners group on Facebook.
Looks like farm tolerance , about 1/4” either way .
It’s dovetail. Dove as in the bird not as in you dove in the pool.
The electrical is absolutely brutal it wouldn’t last one winter in northern bc

weld spatter and booger welds everywhere! these are expensive trailers! I would expect much better!
I think they should set axles up as double axle only then u can chose to run doubles or only if tires goes down do u air down & put spare on. Less tires less drag & less tire cost but if set up for double customer has the option.
If I understand correctly that sounds exactly what is on the larger, more expensive trailers. Honestly, for my setup, the more simple the better. Tires aren’t all that much even if you have to replace a full set yearly. But I’m sure some folks with similar sized trailers might appreciate that option; especially if they are dead heading a lot.
When u don't know just go big & heavy oldest school way iron over build by 2 or 3x or more. In trailer that means les carry load range. We can 1840s do better w/triangles & trusses & computer modeling & real world testing.
I just wated an 1840s patent truss for railroad video, & the way we make trailers is wrong!, Very weak in the sign cosign game but the trailer game is just starting to innovate & use computer design but better has been out there a long time. Some sky scrapers use triangle but rest 90ish % r old school same thing only more so w/trailer.
wood comes 8ft,10ft, 12ft, or 16ft, but stay dimensional & least amount of board to get over all length is idea, sat 10+12=22' or 8+10= 18', or 10&10=20' but then back road bridge use shorter width 1 board on top double deck style.
why can't the tires b on the inside 1 set middle & then the outside has the suspension prt other tires set. So f-ing what if a little higher in middle. Why put both sets of tires at max width apart wrong design. 2 inside & 2 outside that can move up & down far better. There not drive tires being max distance apart gives u most travel not best way to carry wt. If 3 axles 1 axle needs to b float style not go down in pothole & other 2 axles can travel up & down into pot trap.
the truss designs r long ago free use to any1 solid well worked out designs tested & weaknesses worked out.
Disappointing to see such poor quality welds and spatter left before it went to paint. And the numerous holidays in the powder coating.
The chain location is your fault not trailers
All trailers have chains that lie in the bed loosely. Please ell me this isn’t a nit picking tour?
2:35 I agree. Coming from bumper pull trailers I was accustomed to crossing the chains. I always did this on the PJ Dump Trailer and those chains and hooks were larger and longer and allowed for a cross without issue. The chains on the Diamond C were shorter and cannot be easily crossed. I have since changed my ways and no longer cross the chains. Since then I have also swapped out the chains and hooks for a larger size. Oh wait, at 2:57 the sticker says to cross the trailer chains... Hmm... now I'm confused.
$8500 retail for a trailer like that? I can’t even buy a 3500kg (7k) car hauler in Australia for that. Sound like your trailer industry is as cut throat as ours. LAST 10x7’ box trailer I bought the guy couldn’t even throw in a spare Tyre because it would have cost more than his profit margin (according to him)
Most trailers here don’t come with a spare. That always seems to be an add on with extra costs. Trailer prices have skyrocketed the past few months. These Diamond C trailers are going for 30% more now than they were a year ago.

How long did THIS trailer sit on your dealer's lot? Who's fault was that? Knocking and yet you did not inspect your trailer at the time of purchase. Shame, shame. Where did you get your engineering degree from? Just asking. Gee, no clip-on break-away cable. All are your opinions. You are right, you are not a welder. If you were, you would know those are triple bead welds. Continuous welds from one direction and then back on top of the weld for strength. Gives that "Hump" look. Then back over the top for basically three beads of welding.
Who are you defending? I’m simply showing what a detailed inspection at the dealership would have looked like. Meanwhile sharing my thoughts. Genuine customer questions regarding the quality of the build. Trailer didn’t sit on the lot for long. I requested a quote for a trailer with the specs I wanted and this dealer said they just got this one in. I had to wait to pickup because it wasn’t fully ready. You have to admit there is room for improvement in the quality control department. Overall it’s a great trailer and I’m happy. But one of the biggest issues I have had is the brakes which wasn’t even covered in this video because it was basically brand new at the time of filming.

🤔 Hmm... Nah, I’m good sticking at 26,000 lbs and less and doing non CDL work. The Bobcat T650 is right around 10,000 lbs and so it is the Bobcat E35 MiniEx. Both are perfect for the landscape and equipment work we perform.
