    1. Onions which are antiviral & antibacterial, use skins & all. One large or 2 small onions with skins.
    2. Water to cover simmer 30 minutes not boiling.
    3. Ghee & sea salt, add to onion broth
4..Garlic optional. Use entire bulb cut horizontally with skins on, add to the pot.

I used to put a garlic clove in my children’s ear when they had a cold/sore throat. Big enough so it just sits at the ear canal but doesn’t get in there. I also used to rub menthol and fresh pressed garlic rub on the soles of their feet with bed socks on to sleep overnight
My children never needed antibiotics other than natural remedies

Hi Mary. My wife and I caught covid from the in-laws. I remembered seeing this video and decided to make it for us even though we are on medication. You can't beat natural! I made it with the onion, two cloves of garlic and four quartered mushrooms. I didn't have any whole ginger. When I added a little sea salt to it, it reminded us of a delicious onion soup we get at our favorite Asian restaurant. I think it would be fantastic with the little floating round crackers in it. I feel a little better already! Thanks, Mary.

    Hello Mary! :)
Jsyk, in 2003 I caught SARS1. After 18 days of flu-like symptoms, it turned into pneumonia. After 8 weeks of pneumonia someone suggested I eat liver. I felt like I was dying. I was 32. But within 2 day of eating a lamb liver casserole with onion, red pepper and carrot, I felt right as rain! Liver is a powerhouse of nutrition which supports lung health and immunity.

I use this regularly just as an immune booster too, and switch it up when I have more of any ingredient at a time...I use olive oil sometimes, add in parsley when I have it...I also do a 100 clove of garlic soup with whatever else I might have on hand, the garlic gets sweeter on a slow simmer which my family loves!!! Ginger is amazing, it takes away the tiredness and limb aches for me. Lemon is antiseptic as well.
My favourite onion recipe is natural cough syrup: you take a small to medium diced-up onion in a smaller jar and cover it with honey. Let it sit overnight and then strain the liquid the next day into another jar. Cough syrup done. Not the best taste but not the worst, either. I remember 1 tsp an hour (?), but you can also try less first.

I make chicken broth with 4 large onions and always find that makes a difference to get me over it quickly .
I thought it was the chicken, but the onions are likely adding to the effect . I used to use a whole chicken but too expensive these days so now I just use 2 chicken breasts. Cold water on the chicken, and bring it to a boil and skim it, turn it on low to simmer add salt and pepper corns .Then add 4 large onions whole. Some celery with leaves, carrots and a tomato will clear it . (Use them whole also). Score the tomato on top if fresh . Simmer for at least 3 hours. Enjoy. Not as hard to take as onions alone.

This is simmered with, onions, garlic (I’ll be leaving the skins in it now) celery , carrots ,ginger, black pepper, sea salt and water to cover. Usually cooks for a couple of hours. Strained. Give clear soup to anyone who isn’t very well. Everyone else gets shredded Chicken breast and noodles. Even if it’s me who is sick this is so easy to throw into a slow cooker.

Husband and I had some virus last January and we used old home remedies my grandmothers and great grandmothers used on me: onion cough syrup, mustard plaster and Epsom salt soaks. We shook whatever we had in 3 days.

    Miss Mary,
I made this as soon as I saw the video. Luckily, I had everything already here in the kitchen! It turned out beautifully! And might I add, very tasty 😋!
After sipping on it a few times, I decided to add about 1/4 tsp of homemade green powder I have been working on. Yum! Bonus!- additional health benefits and even tastier. Thanks so much for walking us through the process, sharing your recipe and for you and your sweet husband taking the time and making the effort to educate us all with your recipes and reasoning behind why Nutrient Dense foods and Integrative Medicine are so important.

Great recipe! We use it all the time. I would just add that we add ginger towards the end of cooking because the medicinal ingredients in ginger are destroyed if you cook it more than fifteen minutes. We also leave chopped onion and garlic for roughly 30 minutes on the counter to allow the reaction to occur. In the meantime the amount of active ingredients greatly increase. Love your channel and your energy.🙂🙂

What my mom used to prepare during the cold season by making a hearty soup for the family using loads of onions, garlic and ginger. She’d also chopped up a whole small chicken and threw in potatoes , tomatoes, celery, carrots and whatever other vegetables in season into the soup pot and season with salt, pepper and herbs.

My great grandmother used to make a similar concoction. She didn’t have ginger. She used a hot pepper. Maybe that’s a Texas thang. She gave it to the whole family all flu season. I know when I’m sick I want something spicy. I’ll be making this for winter this year, for sure.

Hi Mary great video I do we have to give you another little tip you can also use during the cold and flu season or if someone in your house is sick slice some onions in half and leave them sitting around the flu virus Or other viruses will go right into the onion itself once I started leaving the sliced in half and sitting out on my counter or one in the living room one in the bedroom wherever you’re going to be you can move it around with you it will absorb the virus itself really works

I always keep a homemade vegetable stock on hand in a mason jar in the fridge. I drink it daily to boost my immune system. I keep a container in the freezer and add any vegetable scraps to it and when I have enough I make a pot of stock. Our grocery store also has a produce markdown rack so I check it every time I’m there and pick up any veggies cheap that I can add to my stock.

A raw fermented version is made from these very ingredients in as much water but uncooked. Add some sea salt & maybe apple cider vinegar or ripe apple slices. It will be ready in a week or two or up to a month depending on your ambient temperature.
Also you can include horseradish, mushroom, parsley (for green power), rue & maybe tiny bit of red hot pepper.
