It looks like the devteam was a fan of C&C: Generals so they decided to make a game similar to this after EA mishandled the entire C&C franchise.
I need this game.. sadly no company makes games like C&C anymore.
C&C is being remastered , progress going atm , and part of the staff working on it is from westwood "original creator" , waiting for that

@@93streak Its being remastered by Petroglyph, which has 85%+ of the original Westwood staff and they release quite a bit on Steam, look them up (and yes, the same people that gave us C&C gave us SW: Empire at War)

I love the music and it is fun to watch the gameplay. It definitely reminds me a lot of early C&C games, although I think this game has its own unique and fun character. Kudos to the game developer!

sucks doubly bad for people like me who also helped fund generals 2 and basically had our money stolen

For the Legion, it's look like it's a charge mecanism for buidling unit. You consumme a charge for buidling a unit. Up to 3 charge (or 2 for the bigger factory for what I saw) can stack on a buidling. Said charge slowly(-ish ?) build over time. You can actually see how many charge you have, it's the little number on the corner of the icon of the unit you want to build.
For the end, you hit the population limit it seem (the n/200 counter right next to your ressources counter). Was still funny seeing you smacking the Leopard 3 button while wondering "why it doesn't work ?!" !
Now, just put the voice overs from Generals and we have ourselves Generals 2.
