Raptor, I think you didn't use the capacitors to their fullest.
If I'm not mistaken, power is meant to run from solars to guns and capacitors, via the grid (duh), at least during peacetime. Let's write this as follows: Solar > grid > guns&caps.
During combat, the capacitors are meant not only as an energy reserve as you did (caps > grid > guns), but also as a _power_ reserve, to recharge the guns without using grid bandwidth (caps > guns). As you can see at 35:33 , most guns are charged via the grid, but one gun gets power from a capacitor directly. Even worse, I'm not even sure if the pylon charging the other guns gets any power from the caps; the capacitors could well be programmed to supply the guns and _only_ the guns (most imp. not even a pylon in range of a gun).
It's also a bit unsettling that a youtuber who's doing a lot of Tower Defense doesn't build what I call a "Funnel of Love" - walls which aren't meant to keep the enemy out completely, but redirect them diagonally, into a terrain where they will receive lots of "love" from turrets and garrisons. The narrow end of that funnel would be about the place where the 2x2 capacitor bank is at 35:33 , and garrisons would do the biggest share of the work there, mostly because the turrets don't traverse fast enough in that use case.
Hey Raptor, I like the series already! A few tips:
1. Spacebar pauses the game, you'll need to do this when you're building in later levels to keep up.
2. Build roads around your community center, the yellow trucks gather rent from each individual house. It can reach more houses that way = more money.
3. The darker brown ground after you've build a community center shows where house will be built if connected to a road. So build a road around it :) (more houses = more people)
4. If you have a closed road circuit from greenhouse to community center, the food will be delivered to the community centers faster.
Ps. sorry if you don't like me giving tips and want to discover everything yourself, kinda new to your channel. :)

Tried the game... so far it's good and challenging... highly recommend... I would like to add with regards to get the most with the greenhouse and community centre... build it without any roads around it yet... then place a rod in front of the main building of those structures... it should give a 'U' shaped layout... giving you more houses... making the most for your 200 coins...
^there is nothing to discover. 1 sector shows how to build and area around com. center shows where are houses gona be placed. its just logic that u need roads there. never played this game but it is easy to figure it out :)
Man, my heart is aching each time you put buildings asymmetrically or using space inefficiently but thnx for video (* * ;)
I think the unnecessarily long circuits are way worse. He could attach farms to the 12 and 6 o'clock positions of the circuit and the habitats at 3 and 9, to distribute 2 truckloads per circuit, but his layout manages one at best. There are cases where cars have to drive by another unnecessary building, like a second farm, too.

You do understand it's supposed to be like a satire, right? Yeah, they are taking to the stars but look how socialist this fictional faction is. It's a space faring race and they purposefully didn't automate mining and farming so that the people will have menial work to do.

They are valueing the society above the individual pursuits. And if this society truly valued profit, it wouldn't use human miners picking up rocks by hand and human farmers working the fields with hand tools. These are labors long mechanized in even the most backwards countries on the 21st century earth. And this is being done on a harsh alien planet by people wearing spacesuits. The implication is this "country" outlawed automation purposefully in order to give people jobs to enforce social stability which it favors over progress. This is socialism. Also the elites keep the masses busy with manual labor, telling them everyone is equal while filling up their jowls with the spoils. This happens in corrupt socialist countries.

I LOVE Your videos and because your a raptor
a real shame that development was stopped on this game... Good graphics, intuitive, fun base building, and gameplay, and a ton of potential. Wish some group of idle developers would just keep developing the game, would love to see this game in its full-fledged form, but it'd a really big project for anybody who might try to carry development. Base building and defense games are hard to make for a small group of developers.

Glory to Raptorio! A star system is given a name chosen by it's discoverer. The star at the center will be given the letter A, with all planets being named the next available letter in order of their discovery.

@Raptor: Thanks for sharing! I watched 5 minutes, downloaded the game and played it half way thru. Then resumed to watch you. Quick tip: Build a road AROUND the Community Center (CC) to collect more money. Only houses near the road are being used, that is why you needed so many CC´s. It´s a game about efficiency in capitalism - the more workers you can settle and tax with a single CC, the better. And you can / should maximise your Greenhouse (GH). You can see how many squares a CC or GH could use (faint shadowy area) ...and optimize the roads with small Roundabouts at intersections ;-)

"Proxima Centauri A or C" C would still be a planet but I'd be impressed if they try to colonize A. In naming conventions, a is the star then b onward are planets. I'm actually rather curious how a game would spin their take on colonizing a star instead of a planet.
Proxima Centauri is a binary star system so the B refers to the star
@@grantcawby7225 Sorry mate, but no. Proxima Centauri is part of a trinary not a binary. That's also called Alpha Centauri C. Third star found of the trinary. Since Proxima already pin points a single star of a group, the next letter would denote an exoplanet orbiting it.

This game appears to be abandoned. Version Alpha 9 which raptor is playing is the latest one, ~1.5 years ago from now.

The capacitors...don't seem to be....Capacitating. Even full, when the duststorms hit, you still loose power immediately. Unless it's not prioritizing defense, which seems.....silly...
