+joyce michaelson No rock singer ever matched JD's ability to put such depth of feeling in everything he sang. Could melt even the coldest heart if it really listened. My favorite male vocalist ever.
wow, so there are others out there with good taste in music... Rock on everyone, RIP Robin and James, may your music be rediscovered through the ages... hope you're both smashin out those tunes in some alternate universe.. peace out...
Yep: People who think hes not worthy do not know about Guitar Gods." Of the 70s. He was really good in the younger days. Like the tone of his Fuzz ...He is a Guitar God. Imho.
When Robin Trower played with Procol Harum guitar style was totally different. Then Robin heard Jimi Hendrix that was it! Claims Trower on an interview. Trowers Idol. He's a guitar God Eric Clapton never had him on any of his big events where he invited everybody but never Robin Trower! Or Frank Marino.
I agree with b3arcub Dewar was one of the best vocalists ive heard and Robin was at his peak when James was his front man ,loved Caledonia off Misty Days
Yes, it was so sad that he was affected and died too young from the inherited disease, CADASIL. I read that one of his daughters was similarly affected.
Sweet Jesus,,,gives me shivvvverz,,,,play on,play on....................... I am soooo blessed to have lived in their lifetimes,,,,,the Greatest,,,,,,, The 60's- the mid 70's ...60 yrs old and Still playin it LOUD ! Peace-Out
I went to see Robin at Wembley in 1975/6 and when I tried to start my parked car outside I literally could not hear the engine fire up. My ears were ringing for days afterwards. Brilliant concert! RIPJames.
KAYAKERSTAN There are loads of absolute rock legends who've been snubbed by the RnRHoF, yet they fill it up with rap and hip hop shite.... Fuck 'em, they're a joke.
3 people aren't enough to make a power trio. It takes 3 VERY skilled and gifted performers so that the band sounds like there were even more members. Trower's was a power trio in every sense of the phrase.
I had this music on a shelf for so many years while life happened. This is the soundtrack of my youth. So glad I saw this line up. Thanks for the upload, and don't nobody tell me a Brit ain't got no soul. Good God Almighty.
I'm a 60's child, love Robin, I've been playing since I was 4 on mandolin went to guitar when I was 12 and never looked back, Robin was a huge influence on me.Rock on brother.
yes his name was reggie isidore (drummer - rip) who recorded with the robin trower band 1st & 2nd albums along with james dewar (lead vocals & bass - rip)! these musician (in my opinion) were the best backing lineup for sure! though Trower had others backing musicians who were also good in most of his recorded albums, but the first two albums broke the ice for Robin Trower, cheers!
I just saw Trower for about the 20th time this past April....and he's still smokin'....I played with his back up band one night in Greensboro NC in '77...best night of my life.....Jimmy Dewar had the sweetest voice I ever heard!
Thank God some of you younger guys are interested in this style. Now in my 60's, I have been fearing that the really great music would die with my generation but maybe not. FYI....have seen Robin many, many times live back in the day and as recent as March 15, 2008.
Thank God Almighty that Robin Trower is on my top list of favorite artists for the last two years . I'm from Saudi Arabia BTW and I'm 25 . I assume this is a proof that there's still hope 4 this generation to get rid of the man and mainstream , souless sound .
Trower power,.. immense, full of attitude, string bends, big riffs, lots to enjoy,... James ,..R.I.P,.. great vocals, Robin keeps it going , howling sound , no one in this life will experience anything better, thank you ROBIN,JAMES and BILL, you are the best.
IMO: The Bridge of Sighs is one of the best recordings of its era. At one time I had it on album, 8-track and cassette. I was that much into it (in the 70s). I still think it is worthy of Hall of Fame recognition. Probably is, I don't know. But Little Bit is the deal.
Im 60 i was lucky enough to see Robin Trower concert in a Club maximum crowd 721 people. Thank you Johnny Zaragoza Big Richard Jimenez for taking me there .James Murrieta and Edward Sanchez aka Bruno went too . Talk about Wonderful Memories ❤❤❤❤
To me, james dewar's voice goes hand in hand with the robin trower sound.dewar's voice and ability to use it says to me that he could have done well fronting his own band had he chosen to.
I saw them on this tour as a warm up act for King Crimson. The original band with Reg Isidore on drums were the best! Saw them with Bill Lordan on drums, after For Earth Below, and they kind of lost that raw-ness.
Trower makes playin look so simple, you can always tell the great guitarists by their expression when they play, and have fun doin it!! trower always lights up the day!!
James Dewar had the classic blues singer voice with silky smooth bass tones that are soothing, unlike today's girly-sounding, musicians. Classic and under-rated! The standard by which his peers should be judged!
Robin driving Fender Bassman cabinets through Marshall head? Great live sound! Master of the Stratocaster for sure! If you ever get a chance to see this guy live, DO IT!!
Brilliant from Trower & Dewar & Isadore! Different take on the drummimg that i have heard on this track performed live! Maybe the live album had Lordan drumming by then?
Man. I love reading the reactions of younger rockers, to music that came out when I was in high school. The late 60's to mid-70's were the best years of guitar rock. Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana......
Grew up with Robin Trower when I heard my father listening to him all the time. The 2nd coming of Jimi Hendrix in my opinion. Does a lot of guitar riffs that was his trademark style. Uses a lot of 1st and 3rd string notes simultaneously with 2nd string muffled while he moves up and down the neck. Unique sound.
A great killer lineup real powerhouse trio. Saw Robin and co. with Wishbone Ash - Madison Square Garden NYC March 24, 1976 Absolutely awesome night of guitars and Wishbone was great as always too !
Saw Trower in Denver 8 times ,starting with victims of the furry tour ,and every couple years there after.last time was about 2004.I sure do miss James Dewar, Davey Pattison, was also awesome .I don`t need to say anymore, if you have seen Robin Trower you know hes the best.
My funny Robin Trower story; we went to see Robin live. As a guitarist I looked forward to watching him play, (No RUclips then). I got so stoned during the first act that I spent Robin's entire show sitting on the floor and not seeing anything😊Those we're the days!
Yoda whippin out some serious Jedi shit. If you have ever been to a concert you've seen it. Tiny little guy puts The Force into his playin and suddenly Majik flys. Trower was Yoda before we knew who Yoda was. He quietly laid down ballsy confident licks as a Master. No tricks, no flash, just Mastery. Rock on Maestro!!!
I was going to reminisce about watching 1.5 hour of trower band and 3.5 hr of Jethro Tull together.. but tempered to hear about Mr. Isiadore. Condolences.
He's been ending his shows with this tune forever, and it's perfect 'cause of the dramatic finality of the finish, not played on this video. Trower is amazing.
Noticed that in this clip Robin is using a Marshall head with what I believe are Fender speakers. Thanks for the vid. Classic Trower. It just gets no better.
On Twice Removed From Yesterday and Bridge of Sighs it was Trower / Dewars / Isidore, then on In City Dreams and For Earth Below it was Trower / Dewars / Lordan with Rustee Allen playing bass on In City Dreams. That was one of the smokinist Trios of all time!
MamboSons I think it's just because he went for a similar sort of tone, with a Strat through a cranked Marshall stack... But in terms of technique, Trower and Hendrix are quite different.
@@morganchatsworthiii9178 I've always thought so in fact there's no doubt in my mind. I can't explain why but Jimi did nothing for me, Trower and Marino on the the other hand...my guitar heroes 👍
TROWER POWER ROCKS ON IN 2024
You CANNOT compare this era of music to anything coming out today. So, soooooo superior. Peace!
Well..there is No one that plays at their level....Joe Bonnamassa is very good
No one better than James Dewar! Best rock voice ever.
+jocye michaelson You're absolutely right.
+joyce michaelson
No rock singer ever matched JD's ability to put such depth of feeling in everything he sang. Could melt even the coldest heart if it really listened. My favorite male vocalist ever.
Blues Voice From God
wow, so there are others out there with good taste in music...
Rock on everyone,
RIP Robin and James, may your music be rediscovered through the ages... hope you're both smashin out those tunes in some alternate universe..
peace out...
Amen to that
Robin Trower is an icon. The quintessential guitarist. Anyone who doesn't like this is dead inside.
Yep: People who think hes not worthy do not know about Guitar Gods." Of the 70s. He was really good in the younger days. Like the tone of his Fuzz ...He is a Guitar God. Imho.
Anyone who doesn't like this is not your concern. It's enough that lots of us still do.
Damn right....
Reg Isadore on the skins
I miss James Dewar. He was without a doubt one of the best vocalists for this style of music.
I agree with b3arcub Dewar was one of the best vocalists ive heard and Robin was at his peak when James was his front man ,loved Caledonia off Misty Days
this was the best Robin Trower rock group/band lineup ever!
RIP Jimmy Dewar...a voice for the ages. So much more from you we never got to hear...
Yes, it was so sad that he was affected and died too young from the inherited disease, CADASIL. I read that one of his daughters was similarly affected.
😥
I just love the way Robin lives every note...James Dewar....THE voice.
And the drums
Damn this is some serious rock n roll. Jim Dewar was the Scottish Lord of Blue Eyed Soul, RIP.
Reg Isadore was absolutely an amazing drummer!
Greatest power trio since Cream. Nothing since comes close.
Sweet Jesus,,,gives me shivvvverz,,,,play on,play on.......................
I am soooo blessed to have lived in their lifetimes,,,,,the Greatest,,,,,,,
The 60's- the mid 70's ...60 yrs old and Still playin it LOUD !

I went to see Robin at Wembley in 1975/6 and when I tried to start my parked car outside I literally could not hear the engine fire up. My ears were ringing for days afterwards. Brilliant concert! RIPJames.
Trower, Dewar & Isadore, the original Trower Experience.
How the hell is this man not in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame? Should be called the Rock N Roll Hall of SHAME!
YOUR KIDDING ME ??? ROBIN IS NOT IN ???? FUCK THAT HALL OF FAME ! THEY KNOW SHIT about music !!!
KAYAKERSTAN There are loads of absolute rock legends who've been snubbed by the RnRHoF, yet they fill it up with rap and hip hop shite.... Fuck 'em, they're a joke.
DA BOMB OF TRIOS
KAYAKERSTAN he doesn't even make top 20 on their stupid little lists... When he should be in the top 3 for certain
Unreal huh ... along with Jethro Tull the hall of fame voters are fools .
3 people aren't enough to make a power trio. It takes 3 VERY skilled and gifted performers so that the band sounds like there were even more members. Trower's was a power trio in every sense of the phrase.
Bring back old memories of our rock n roll days. We grew up with the best!!
I had this music on a shelf for so many years while life happened. This is the soundtrack of my youth. So glad I saw this line up. Thanks for the upload, and don't nobody tell me a Brit ain't got no soul. Good God Almighty.
on a shelf? turntable M8.
One of the best bands to ever play. Robin,James and Reg put down the JAMMMM! What a performance!
Rip mr James Dewar your voice will never be silent
Rush
Montrose
ROBIN TROWER
Phila Spectrum Nov, 1976
Great Concert!
Let's hear it for Reg!
...such joyous lyrics.....see and let yourself be seen...
I'm a 60's child, love Robin, I've been playing since I was 4 on mandolin went to guitar when I was 12 and never looked back, Robin was a huge influence on me.Rock on brother.
Legend has it that if Robin does not make a particular face his guitar will not play a certian sound
Brilliant. Robins guitar and James singing. Reg is pretty damn good 'n all. What a band.
what a great trio, three class musicians and 1 sublime vocal!
yes his name was reggie isidore (drummer - rip) who recorded with the robin trower band 1st & 2nd albums along with james dewar (lead vocals & bass - rip)! these musician (in my opinion) were the best backing lineup for sure! though Trower had others backing musicians who were also good in most of his recorded albums, but the first two albums broke the ice for Robin Trower, cheers!

👉 In my eyes,,They are in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame … i’m so lucky to have grown up during such magnificent musicians & masters !!!
Definition of a power trio
One of the very best of all time!
Who knows why these guys aren't in the hall of fame as long as we know their greatness that's what counts
Gotta love Reg Isadore's unique style and sound. Really complimented Trower's style.
Robert Ellison Reg was a powerhouse of a drummer and I believe he often drove Robin to play with more even more intensity-(if that's possible)
Trower on guitar and Dewar’s voice......magic!
Great please check out Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs Album Review on my channel
Thank God some of you younger guys are interested in this style. Now in my 60's, I have been fearing that the really great music would die with my generation but maybe not. FYI....have seen Robin many, many times live back in the day and as recent as March 15, 2008.
There has never been, nor will there ever be anything like this again. Pure genius.
Robin Trower - Little Bit Of Sympathy - 1974
Trower has always been amazing !!!
Thank God Almighty that Robin Trower is on my top list of favorite artists for the last two years . I'm from Saudi Arabia BTW and I'm 25 . I assume this is a proof that there's still hope 4 this generation to get rid of the man and mainstream , souless sound .
I like Reg's cowbell @ +1:46! So did Robin and James as you can see.
Yes, Reg Isadore was a beast on the drums. He passed away due to a heart attack at age 59 - same age that James succumbed to his condition.
Good spot. Never noticed that before. Reg was such a great drummer.
REGGIE WAS THE BALLS 🥃😎👌
Haha awesome! They did like it!
+Paul Baker
Spot on my friend! These times have unfortunately passed, but the genius, and the memories live on! :-)
REGGIE'S DRUMMING WAS THE BALLS...😎👌 BILL NEVER WAS.
IMO: The Bridge of Sighs is one of the best recordings of its era. At one time I had it on album, 8-track and cassette. I was that much into it (in the 70s). I still think it is worthy of Hall of Fame recognition. Probably is, I don't know. But Little Bit is the deal.
The most underappericated power trio of all time. It's no wonder that Trower is still the master of the stratocaster
Robin is one of the most underrated guitarist ever.
Great please check out Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs Album Review on my channel
Robin is awesome. Saw him in 99 in the states. He can rock it still.
This music sounds as good or better than when i first heard it. Timeless quality. Thank you for posting!
Robin Trower band should be a houshold name in rock history
like Cream, Rush, and Triumph.
RIP Jimmy
I saw them twice in 1974. They were the opening act at both shows and blew away the main act at both shows.
Always amazed on how such a little power trio can make so much noise. Rockin' Robin!
To me, james dewar's voice goes hand in hand with the robin trower sound.dewar's voice and ability to use it says to me that he could have done well fronting his own band had he chosen to.
These guys are the best there ever will be....period. Just saw him last month...still awesome.
I saw them on this tour as a warm up act for King Crimson. The original band with Reg Isidore on drums were the best! Saw them with Bill Lordan on drums, after For Earth Below, and they kind of lost that raw-ness.
Saw him (front row) at McGuffy's In Dayton, OH bout 15 years ago. STILL crankin'-absolutely excellent show!
Trower makes playin look so simple, you can always tell the great guitarists by their expression when they play, and have fun doin it!! trower always lights up the day!!
Every time i listen to Robin and James, it just makes me smile. Great great sounds.
The best blues power trio ever. Superb guitar and vocals.
James Dewar had the classic blues singer voice with silky smooth bass tones that are soothing, unlike today's girly-sounding, musicians. Classic and under-rated! The standard by which his peers should be judged!
Robin Towers music touches Your soul
Robin Trower live! One of my favourite albums of all time.
Great performance, great song, fantastic sound !
Thank you for uploading this.
Three people can't make a better noise than this.
WoW!! ..Thank you so much for posting this !!
Oh man..65 years old and still love this song
Best all time power trio. This song transcends
James Dewar left us WAY too soon ! His voice was as much a part of the Robin Trower experience as Robin's guitar.
Can't help but laugh at the faces he makes, but not with the guitar playing... Man, he rocks!
Man. I love reading the reactions of younger rockers, to music that came out when I was in high school.
The late 60's to mid-70's were the best years of guitar rock.

great tune, great vocal
@docurrhodes yeah R.I.P Jimmy Dewar. He's so underrated in the music world, bass playing and singing...
Best 3piece. Well done...crisp
smokin hot vocals rip james
I was going to reminisce about watching 1.5 hour of trower band and 3.5 hr of Jethro Tull together.. but tempered to hear about Mr. Isiadore. Condolences.
Dewar has one of the best voices ever!
Saw them in Ludwigshafen back in the day with Thin Lizzy opening - good times !!
Excellent *TROWER*!
These tres hombres....well ...ya cant
get any better...Just perfect......
He's been ending his shows with this tune forever, and it's perfect 'cause of the dramatic finality of the finish, not played on this video. Trower is amazing.
Love this! Love Robin Trower music. RIP
WOW !!! IT'S 2024 AND I JUST FOUND THIS !! This is AWESOME !!!!
Noticed that in this clip Robin is using a Marshall head with what I believe are Fender speakers. Thanks for the vid. Classic Trower. It just gets no better.
Thanks Doug. It's good to hear great music. Theirs nothing like hearing that Strait moon and groon. I love it. From Chris S.
Love it….Where has all this great music gone ??????

Here we are, forty years later, and people are still comparing him to Hendrix? WHY? Come on...there's so much more to Robin than that.
MamboSons I think it's just because he went for a similar sort of tone, with a Strat through a cranked Marshall stack... But in terms of technique, Trower and Hendrix are quite different.
yep, he was similar to ONE of Hendrix tones lol. But Trower is WAY more disciplined and tighter whereas Jimi was wide open and loose
Dare I say it? Robin is better than Hendrix. Especially when playing live.
@@morganchatsworthiii9178 I've always thought so in fact there's no doubt in my mind. I can't explain why but Jimi did nothing for me, Trower and Marino on the the other hand...my guitar heroes 👍
Actually he' s smoother and cleaner live than Mr.jimi.
Those guys were freakin' good!
been a RT fan since 73 he & Bonamassa are Just TOO bad Ass !!!
Trower and Dewar.. Simply the best.....
You'll find them in my Love Stories playlist, why? I love them. Yes, was very popular.
