Clearly everyone here isn’t a pro either, including me (I’ve been playing for only 3 years), you are supposed to tilt the toms a little facing you so he is right
@@NotAC. well you're not a pro at common sense then either because 1. that tom IS tilted, just slightly, enough that someone sitting correctly at that specific setup could comfortably hit it, and 2. no, you're not "supposed to" tilt the toms a little. You're supposed to have your toms in a position that is conducive to your own comfortable playing. But again, just imagine a person sitting at that kit with the snare just about leveling up the tops of their limbs - unless they're 4ft 8 or below, that tom is piss-easy access. In fact, that is, judging from this angle, the exact way I set up my drum set. I'm not a pro and not claiming to be one, but I can confidently tell you that rack tom is perfect as is, for any non-midget.
@@Somemusicguy1995 just watch Rick concerts and look at the angle on the toms , I’ve seen many bands and pro drummers and I’ve never seen the with flat Tom’s that’s just jazz players that do that
I literally seted up my drumset the 1st time like the 1st one but then after an hour i set um up like the 2nd but with the extra tom totally spended my time about ergonomics before buying my kit..

I'll take a pro setup with a 12" rack tom and a 16" floor tom, add a second crash next to the ride, a china next to the second crash, a splash above the hi-hat, make them all Zildjian cymbals, and then get me a cannon kick, a 13" snare, Aquarian Drum Heads, and a double bass pedal for the kick. And that'll be all.
Are you crazy???? I want that same setup but im broke. I have the double pedal and both racktoms the china and the ride and the splash and the crash and the hi hat. But i can't afford a cannon kick Drum and the 13" snare is too loud
Stage custom. Best to upgrade to a tour custom at least. Stage custom 10 tom ringy, snare sucks. Hardware / hoops light duty. Tour custom rocks! Maple is open warm! Birch is darker punchy. Maple Custom Absolutes much better! Hybrids great, Recording custom are great, birch. Phoenix is top of the line.
Why are all pro drummers always glazing on beginners, I'm tired of it. We've all been beginners so why are y'all on their meat and I've NEVER set my drums like that, if you do your just some different breed.
Most pros preferred two rack toms fyi.. but for them time is gold thats why usually you see 1 rack tom for gigging or recording for faster set up or sometimes the provider only have 1 rack tom on the venue..

It really, really doesn't. Only if you're under 10 years old, then maybe.
setting up your drums is literally about personal preference and what makes playing feel good for you.
Absolutely correct. I agree. Not every mom is going to feel good with that setup.
Mostly true. Just make sure you don’t have wacky drum angles.

i am NOT putting my drumset perfectly straight😭 i need my toms and ride leaned toward me
