We had a set of tri-toms in school, they were CB 700 and they were like 12, 14, 16 and it was the heaviest thing you can march with, it had NO weight relief, and the toms weren't even set close to the body to help with center of gravity issues. Imagine marching with an entire drumset... it was heavier than that
You forgot to play some rimshots with the carbon sticks. You should have because doing that makes you feel the downside of these sticks. Because the material is so hard and dense compared to wood, you're really gonna feel the vibration of the stick hitting the rim in your hand.
Dude your just… straight up, doubles, (like LL RR for those who don’t know), They Are super tight and you do them evenly across the different degrees of rebound on the different drums very well ! Damn!
3:27 he is VERY much right in this. In order to even FEEL comfortable on the drum kit and begin playing, you NEED to have the right sticks. I personally use 7A wood tip from Vic Firth myself, but everyone has their own preferences.
the cowbell is not even cheap considering you get housebrand cowbells at a similar price from reputable sellers with customer service like Thomann or Sweetwater... Same story with the block. I guess there is not much to optimize on those parts to save money... The cymbal stand spare parts kit is a good one though! Every gigging drummer should carry at least a few of these parts at any gig.
Another good video. Thank you for sharing. Even if the drums are terrible, your skill is incredible. Always cool to watch you play, so fast and cleanly these astounding rhythms. Thank you again Eric
I actually composed Jig 2 on the Tri Tenors while I was practicing for auditions. They were all like, "What? You did Jig 2 on the Triple? I thought it was supposed to be at least in the Quad."
Why is it that beginner drum sets always come with 12/13" rack tom configuration. It usually pushes people to do awkward angles and just why not 10/12"? Cheaper anyhow. Plus 12 to 13 then 16 i find to be odd spacing
Weird to admit but in the tom heads section I liked the temu head's sound more... probably on the fact that they were less ringy than the official ones. They sounded almost studio like and that's what I tend to go for on my kit.

For a small high school with no budget, these are better than nothing.
Use the child labor to give the children music.
As someone who actually had to learn on things like this, no it is not.
I graduated in 1986. We had tri-toms in our drumline. The school now uses quints.
W drumline
My school still owns a pair of tri-toms from the 1980s. They haven’t been used or tuned since then.

yup, bought a 70 dollar bass from them, honestly it aint too bad.

That tom set reminds me of setups in the old days. Look at some old DCI and you see they marched them pretty high up.
I am a marching band Bass player, and when I am on a drumset I also prefer heavier sticks.
I recently ordered a clap stack off of Aliexpress. With shipping, it was somewhere between $40-$50. It sounds really great.
the blocks and splash are actually pretty cool. im expecting the pedals to explode with in an hour though

Those "tenors" looked kinda ridiculous and I think I giggled the whole time. They reminded me an awful lot of the Trixon drums you reviewed!
EMC, I pretty love your videos, keep up the great work
Aquarian made synthetic sticks years ago.... I can't wear them out. Haven't bought sticks in ages.
