Debate Over Critical Race Theory Impacting Southern Baptist Convention, Churches

  • The teaching of critical race theory has created debate and division in the American political system and school systems across the country, from elementary schools to universities. The debate has even seeped into churches. Black pastors are leaving the Southern Baptist Convention partially due to the organization's condemnation of critical race theory. In November 2020, the six presidents of the Southern Baptist seminaries released a statement saying, "We stand together on historic Southern Baptist condemnations of racism in any form, and we also declare that affirmation of Critical Race Theory." Rev. William McKissic Sr., founder of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, joins "Prime with Charles Blow" to discuss the topic.

If all these religious "Christian" spokes-people and leaders and pastors and priests would only read Gods Word, which is supposed to be their guide in life, they would see first century AD Christians did not get involved in these types of arguments or politics. This early church, who had walked with Jesus Christ, had a governing body and it did not matter if they were all Jews guiding the Roman, Greek, Jewish and otherwise congregations. The Scriptures were written for our benefit, for our day, and it's obvious these leaders are Not keeping in touch with Jesus' teachings, which include what the apostles and disciples wrote after Jesus' death. There is no need to consult any race or gender or age or background or nationality if there is a governing body intact. 2 Timothy 3:1-7 speaks clearly about 99% of all religions, including all Baptist, Catholic, Jewish, Islam and all tribal and Eastern religions. It is your job to search for God, humbly, with an open heart, not with your own rights and wrongs and own interpretations. 2 Timothy 3:5, 7 describes the world of these false religions: "having a form of Godly devotion but proving false to it's power, and from these keep away...always leaning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of the truth." There is One True Christian religion and it is Your responsibility to find The Only True and Living God, and anyone who studies religion, namely Christianity, know who Gods true chosen people are. One must put away their own ways of thinking, put away all sorts of "me me me," put away anything that you know may not be supported by Gods word, and then read Gods Word, namely the Christian Scriptures, with all sense of humility, love, and gratitude towards God for all He has done for us. Realize that we are like dust, yet that God sent His only begotten son for us, who, before becoming flesh, was the second most powerful being in the universe, through whom all things were created--the whole universe. This love God gave to us, this love Jesus shared with us, must be given back to God in thankfulness. READ the Christian Scriptures well, Always considering GODS point of view on matters, not our own. The Great Tribulation will be upon everyone, soon enough, and no one will escape it, and all but Gods True chose Christian religion will survive through it, into Gods promised paradise Earth. What any of you may think important now, and may seem oh so valuable during The Great Tribulation, will all, completely forgotten after God and Jesus puts an end to this system of things, after Armageddon. Those who did not do Gods will will pass away for eternity, for ever forgotten: those who did Gods will will live and move on into a perfect everlasting paradise Earth. Your choice. Peace.

@Brenande Mossita The problem is that the SBC (and almost every other conservative white church) has always been ethically deficient when it comes to the issue of race, and the black churches have been theologically deficient. The Social Gospel Movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries moved the mainline denominations to the left and spawned Evangelicalism in reaction to it. (The SBC is the largest current Evangelical denomination.) From that bitter experience, Evangelicals spurned social justice even though it is a biblical imperative, relegating such good works to the category of "personal charity." And they have been quite active in establishing schools and hospitals and orphanages and soup kitchens and food banks and homeless shelters and the like. But they moved to the right politically.
The black churches, on the other hand, embraced more progressive politics, beginning with FDR. As a predictable result, they moved leftward theologically (though not nearly as much as the non-Evangelical white churches). Recently, along with many poor whites, they have joined with the Charismatic Movement and gone off the rails theologically into the Prosperity Gospel and Oneness Pentacostalism.
Historically, the black church has been quite conservative on social issues such as abortion and homosexuality. This has begun to shift though, due to their longtime political alliance with the Democratic Party and with the secular forms of Critical Race Theory. (And this is probably the main thing that conservative white Baptists are reacting to. Wokeness to them is not so much an anti-racist phenomenon as it is a soft-on-abortion, soft-on-homosexuality phenomenon. And you saw a new anti-abortion resolution put forward at the SBC general assembly in Nashville yesterday, only to be shot down. Their fears are real.)
Nobody cares to get rid of the "value of storytelling," Jesus was a storyteller from the word go. Nobody wants to shun ferreting out political policies which include, hidden within them, opportunities for racist practice. White Evangelicals are, by and large, far more anti-racist than society gives them credit for. (Yes, white men--on the right and on the left--are not quick to give up their positions of power. Human nature is a beast,) What white Evangelicals don't want is for the theologically liberal camel to get its nose in the tent. The rest of its body is never far behind.
If you don't believe that all whites are inherently racist, then you don't believe in CRT. If you DO believe that blacks CAN be racist, then you don't believe in CRT. If you don't believe that CRT has Marxist roots, then do a little homework. Why is it that the wokest politicians are also the farthest to the left politically?
White Evangelicalism strikes me as incredibly deaf to the cries for justice from minorities. I reject such a wholesale abandonment of biblical demands. But CRT is a dangerous attempt at a solution. Look into it a little. It is tyrannical. And, from a biblical point of view, it is thoroughly racist. It is designed to sow dissension and division.
We must learn to fight racism...together...with all our strength...and flee CRT together, as the outstretched hand of the Devil that it is.

I have been trying to get people to go look this stuff up every time I come across content like this. I have been looking into this stuff for a while now. I also encourage you to do the same.

CRT is an advanced study that examines and asks what are the systems and laws in place that create racial hierarchies in the US . Mostly taught in law schools but also taught in higher ( Masters work lvl) sociology and social work. You can read some books but the critical part of it examines the why. Black people have a paradigm but so do Native Americans.

As with any presidential administration, various religious groups will swarm and clamor around the president in hopes to push their agendas. Look at the results- this further divides these religious groups when one would expect them to be united. Thus the church reflects the hopeless division in politics.

“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body-whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free-and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:12-27‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.” (What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions? He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.) So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:1-16‬ ‭NIV‬‬
I shared these passages because if we belong to Christ, then we’re one in Christ. The Body of Christ cannot get along or function when there is division, factions, isolating from one another. Obedience to God is our first goal. We must get back to what is written in the scriptures alone to guide our lives, it’s that simple.

I’m not fully knowledgeable on most of the in-depth information that is at the foundation of critical race theory and intersectionality but I have enough of understanding of it and much more of the Bible to say that they don’t fit together.
The fact that this whole video is full of white vs black conversation, black churches and white churches and talking about white people controlling black pastors pulpits, it’s totally scary.
The fact that the Bible is clear that there is ONE church and it has nothing to do with color but only to do with Christ really just blows this talk out of the water. There’s zero justification in anything that’s being sad other than the fact that there is very clear racism on both sides, not just the “white” sides. Martin Luther King was not a genuine Christian. But regardless, if we’re leaning on what has been said by men and ignoring the word of God, we’re on a quick trip to Hell. This is nonsense and God will have the final word. Please repent and stop leading people astray by adding more hate and division to a situation that has already been filled with those very sins. That’s not the way the Bride of Christ is supposed to be. I would start questioning who were serving, it doesn’t seem like It’s Jesus.
God is sovereign and He made us in his image with whatever level of melanin we have in our skin. The thinking that we could ever look at that truth and put things in place that would very blatantly stand against God being God is outright silliness and apostasy.
This is so sad to see “Pastors” of any skin color publicly talk so negatively about other “pastors” because of their skin color and pretend that they are doing something positively for the sheep they say they are leading. How terrible that Satan is in the very root and middle of this conversation and eyes are shut to it. Praying for open eyes and open hearts. PREACH THE GOSPEL! No skin color involved. Jesus is our only hope of salvation!
    Skin color unimportant

No, unfortunately he doesn't. Go look into CRT for yourself. It is the definition of a Trojan horse. This pastor is either willfully ignorant, gullible or a flat out liar. He said that that CRT is not Marxist and uses no European influence and see would be calling Bell a liar. (As if there is something with calling Derrick Bell a liar). He can say that all day long but if you have even a curcery amount of knowledge of Marxism you know that this is BS. CRT is a philosophical frame work meant to change the very way you think. It's goal is to create a "race consciousness" meaning that you view absolutely everything in your life in terms of racial oppression. Even mundane daily life and daily interactions. It poses that things like logic, fairness, reason, families, property, math and science are all a part of "whiteness" and that white people will always be on top as oppressors and black people will always be on the bottom as the oppressed. So to get this straight, we are now removing ourselves from the SBC in order to follow the philosophy of a bunch of European atheists who believe that the state should be in control of everyone's lives and that black people are a perminant second class citizen.

Stand with him and overthrow all these other false gods.
    Why do we hurt ourselves?
    Love Him!
    Keep Him!
    Save Him!
Have mercy and compassion towards Him
I fear the Lord and not them
I hate them with a perfected hatred.
    Do not depart from Truth
Let his lamp burn. Exalt him in the heavens and the earth.
As the Son gave all honor and glory to the Father
It is my duty to give all honor and glory due to the Son of God. I am my brothers keeper.
    I praise not
Not your mother not your father, your brother your sister your children
    No!
    I praise not your pastors
    I worship not a lie
I praise John the Baptist for his baptism
Set this banner of all the nations.

CRT is a Theory because ALL Marxist Theory is constantly be adjusted.
A little thoughtful research into “Critical Theory” and the “Frankfurt School” may be enlightening to everyone. Yes, “Critical Theory” does exist. Yes, it is based on Marxist philosophy, and is the foundation of Critical Law Studies, Critical Race Theory, and numerous other “Critical Theories”. It has been an influence in the US for more than 60 years. One of its principal founders, Max Horkheimer was associated with Columbia University starting in the 1940’s.
The following is a quote from Horkheimer:
The Revolution won't happen with guns, rather it will happen incrementally, year by year, generation by generation. We will gradually infiltrate their educational institutions and their political offices, transforming them slowly into Marxist entities as we move towards universal egalitarianism.”

And now, behold, my brethren, I have spoken unto you, according as the Spirit hath constrained me; wherefore, I know that they must surely come to pass.
2 And the things which shall be written out of the book shall be of great worth unto the children of men, and especially unto our seed, which is a remnant of the house of Israel.
3 For it shall come to pass in that day that the churches which are built up, and not unto the Lord, when the one shall say unto the other: Behold, I, I am the Lord’s; and the others shall say: I, I am the Lord’s; and thus shall every one say that hath built up churches, and not unto the Lord-
4 And they shall contend one with another; and their priests shall contend one with another, and they shall teach with their learning, and deny the Holy Ghost, which giveth utterance.
    5 And they deny the power of God, the Holy One of Israel; and they say unto the people: Hearken unto us, and hear ye our precept; for behold there is no God today, for the Lord and the Redeemer hath done his work, and he hath given his power unto men;
6 Behold, hearken ye unto my precept; if they shall say there is a miracle wrought by the hand of the Lord, believe it not; for this day he is not a God of miracles; he hath done his work.
7 Yea, and there shall be many which shall say: Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die; and it shall be well with us.
8 And there shall also be many which shall say: Eat, drink, and be merry; nevertheless, fear God-he will justify in committing a little sin; yea, lie a little, take the advantage of one because of his words, dig a pit for thy neighbor; there is no harm in this; and do all these things, for tomorrow we die; and if it so be that we are guilty, God will beat us with a few stripes, and at last we shall be saved in the kingdom of God.
9 Yea, and there shall be many which shall teach after this manner, false and vain and foolish doctrines, and shall be puffed up in their hearts, and shall seek deep to hide their counsels from the Lord; and their works shall be in the dark.
10 And the blood of the saints shall cry from the ground against them.
11 Yea, they have all gone out of the way; they have become corrupted.
12 Because of pride, and because of false teachers, and false doctrine, their churches have become corrupted, and their churches are lifted up; because of pride they are puffed up.
13 They rob the poor because of their fine sanctuaries; they rob the poor because of their fine clothing; and they persecute the meek and the poor in heart, because in their pride they are puffed up.
14 They wear stiff necks and high heads; yea, and because of pride, and wickedness, and abominations, and whoredoms, they have all gone astray save it be a few, who are the humble followers of Christ; nevertheless, they are led, that in many instances they do err because they are taught by the precepts of men.
15 O the wise, and the learned, and the rich, that are puffed up in the pride of their hearts, and all those who preach false doctrines, and all those who commit whoredoms, and pervert the right way of the Lord, wo, wo, wo be unto them, saith the Lord God Almighty, for they shall be thrust down to hell!
16 Wo unto them that turn aside the just for a thing of naught and revile against that which is good, and say that it is of no worth! For the day shall come that the Lord God will speedily visit the inhabitants of the earth; and in that day that they are fully ripe in iniquity they shall perish.
17 But behold, if the inhabitants of the earth shall repent of their wickedness and abominations they shall not be destroyed, saith the Lord of Hosts.
18 But behold, that great and abominable church, the whore of all the earth, must tumble to the earth, and great must be the fall thereof.
    19 For the kingdom of the devil must shake, and they which belong to it must needs be stirred up unto repentance, or the devil will grasp them with his everlasting chains, and they be stirred up to anger, and perish;
20 For behold, at that day shall he rage in the hearts of the children of men, and stir them up to anger against that which is good.
21 And others will he pacify, and lull them away into carnal security, that they will say: All is well in Zion; yea, Zion prospereth, all is well-and thus the devil cheateth their souls, and leadeth them away carefully down to hell.
22 And behold, others he flattereth away, and telleth them there is no hell; and he saith unto them: I am no devil, for there is none-and thus he whispereth in their ears, until he grasps them with his awful chains, from whence there is no deliverance.
23 Yea, they are grasped with death, and hell; and death, and hell, and the devil, and all that have been seized therewith must stand before the throne of God, and be judged according to their works, from whence they must go into the place prepared for them, even a lake of fire and brimstone, which is endless torment.
24 Therefore, wo be unto him that is at ease in Zion!
25 Wo be unto him that crieth: All is well!
26 Yea, wo be unto him that hearkeneth unto the precepts of men, and denieth the power of God, and the gift of the Holy Ghost!
27 Yea, wo be unto him that saith: We have received, and we need no more!
28 And in fine, wo unto all those who tremble, and are angry because of the truth of God! For behold, he that is built upon the rock receiveth it with gladness; and he that is built upon a sandy foundation trembleth lest he shall fall.
29 Wo be unto him that shall say: We have received the word of God, and we need no more of the word of God, for we have enough!
30 For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.
31 Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost.
32 Wo be unto the Gentiles, saith the Lord God of Hosts! For notwithstanding I shall lengthen out mine arm unto them from day to day, they will deny me; nevertheless, I will be merciful unto them, saith the Lord God, if they will repent and come unto me; for mine arm is lengthened out all the day long, saith the Lord God of Hosts.

Peace.

I am all for acknowledging racism and injustice but I am trying to let people know that CRT is a Trojan horse. I believe that the Rev has good intentions but as a listen to him describe CRT it is clear that he has no clue what it actually is and has been seriously misled. What it actually is is a framework for viewing the world. It's philosophy stems from the teachings of avowed atheists and despite what the Rev has been told it actually is just a repackaging of Marxist ideology. Its ultimate goal is actually the exact opposite of what the name suggests. If you look into it you will see that it actually considers fairness to be a "white" idea as well as families and owning private property. These are all considered to be "whiteness" It seems to me that people are looking at the name of the theory and not going any further and just assuming based on what they are being told that it is about getting rid of racism. I encourage you to please take a look at the black scholars and pastors both Christian and nonchristian who have a problem with this. Voddie Bachuam is a great place to start.

Oh, and by the way.... for someone who types in "He sounds *restarted* and slow like you do." That's a pretty strong conviction. But if you"re going to try and label someone else as *Restarted* and slow, you should at least first learn better sentence structure, better grammar, and learn the spell check function (OR just learn how to spell). smh. People who oppose CRT, especially white women are conflicted. If Critical Race Theory is inappropriate, then Feminist Studies “Critical Gender Theory” is inappropriate. If teaching that society is founded upon racial oppression is wrong, then teaching that society is founded upon gender oppression is wrong. This is especially true when you factor in that white women owned almost have the black slaves and have benefited from the oppression of blacks more the white men. Remove all feminist studies and gender preferences from society and learning institutions.

And it shall come to pass, that if the aGentiles shall hearken unto the Lamb of God in that day that he shall manifest himself unto them in word, and also in bpower, in very deed, unto the ctaking away of their dstumbling blocks-
2 And harden not their hearts against the Lamb of God, they shall be numbered among the seed of thy father; yea, they shall be anumbered among the house of Israel; and they shall be a bblessed people upon the cpromised land forever; they shall be no more brought down into captivity; and the house of Israel shall no more be confounded.
3 And that great apit, which hath been digged for them by that great and abominable church, which was founded by the devil and his children, that he might lead away the souls of men down to hell-yea, that great pit which hath been digged for the destruction of men shall be filled by those who digged it, unto their utter destruction, saith the Lamb of God; not the destruction of the soul, save it be the casting of it into that bhell which hath no end.
4 For behold, this is according to the acaptivity of the devil, and also according to the justice of God, upon all those who will work wickedness and abomination before him.
5 And it came to pass that the angel spake unto me, Nephi, saying: Thou hast beheld that if the Gentiles repent it shall be awell with them; and thou also knowest concerning the covenants of the Lord unto the house of Israel; and thou also hast heard that whoso brepenteth not must perish.
6 Therefore, awo be unto the Gentiles if it so be that they harden their hearts against the Lamb of God.
7 For the time cometh, saith the Lamb of God, that I will work a great and a amarvelous work among the children of men; a bwork which shall be everlasting, either on the one hand or on the other-either to the convincing of them unto cpeace and dlife eternal, or unto the deliverance of them to the hardness of their hearts and the blindness of their minds unto their being brought down into captivity, and also into destruction, both temporally and spiritually, according to the ecaptivity of the devil, of which I have spoken.
8 And it came to pass that when the angel had spoken these words, he said unto me: Rememberest thou the acovenants of the Father unto the house of Israel? I said unto him, Yea.
9 And it came to pass that he said unto me: Look, and behold that great and abominable church, which is the mother of abominations, whose founder is the adevil.
10 And he said unto me: Behold there are save atwo churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the bother is the church of the cdevil; wherefore, dwhoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the ewhore of all the earth.
11 And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the whore of all the earth, and she sat upon many awaters; and she had dominion over ball the earth, among all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people.
12 And it came to pass that I beheld the church of the Lamb of God, and its numbers were afew, because of the wickedness and abominations of the whore who sat upon many waters; nevertheless, I beheld that the church of the Lamb, who were the saints of God, were also upon ball the face of the earth; and their dominions upon the face of the earth were small, because of the wickedness of the great whore whom I saw.
13 And it came to pass that I beheld that the great mother of abominations did gather together multitudes upon the face of all the earth, among all the nations of the Gentiles, to afight against the Lamb of God.
14 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and they were aarmed with brighteousness and with the cpower of God in great glory.
15 And it came to pass that I beheld that the wrath of God was apoured out upon that great and abominable church, insomuch that there were wars and rumors of wars among all the bnations and kindreds of the earth.
16 And as there began to be awars and rumors of wars among all the nations which belonged to the mother of abominations, the angel spake unto me, saying: Behold, the wrath of God is upon the mother of harlots; and behold, thou seest all these things-
17 And when the aday cometh that the bwrath of God is poured out upon the mother of harlots, which is the great and abominable church of all the earth, whose founder is the devil, then, at that day, the cwork of the Father shall commence, in preparing the way for the fulfilling of his dcovenants, which he hath made to his people who are of the house of Israel.
18 And it came to pass that the angel spake unto me, saying: Look!
19 And I looked and beheld a man, and he was dressed in a white robe.
20 And the angel said unto me: Behold aone of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
21 Behold, he shall asee and bwrite the cremainder of these things; yea, and also many things which have been.
22 And he shall also write concerning the end of the world.
23 Wherefore, the things which he shall write are just and true; and behold they are written in the abook which thou beheld proceeding out of the mouth of the Jew; and at the time they proceeded out of the mouth of the Jew, or, at the time the book proceeded out of the mouth of the Jew, the things which were written were plain and pure, and most bprecious and easy to the understanding of all men.
24 And behold, the things which this aapostle of the Lamb shall write are many things which thou hast seen; and behold, the remainder shalt thou see.
25 But the things which thou shalt see hereafter thou shalt not write; for the Lord God hath ordained the apostle of the Lamb of God that he should awrite them.
26 And also others who have been, to them hath he shown all things, and they have awritten them; and they are bsealed up to come forth in their purity, according to the truth which is in the Lamb, in the own due time of the Lord, unto the house of Israel.
27 And I, Nephi, heard and bear record, that the name of the apostle of the Lamb was aJohn, according to the word of the angel.
28 And behold, I, Nephi, am forbidden that I should write the remainder of the things which I saw and heard; wherefore the things which I have written sufficeth me; and I have written but a small part of the things which I saw.
29 And I bear record that I saw the things which my afather saw, and the angel of the Lord did make them known unto me.
30 And now I make an end of speaking concerning the things which I saw while I was acarried away in the Spirit; and if all the things which I saw are not written, the things which I have written are btrue. And thus it is. Amen.

The Baptists church is NOT fundamentalist and never was fundamentalist. And for very good reasons.
Do people place Paul’s words above Jesus? Why should they? Paul never met Jesus he saw Jesus in a vision.
Jesus both said that Peter was the Rock/Foundation of the church, but also called Peter, Satan, for not understanding Jesus’s purpose. Peter denied Jesus three times.
Humans are flawed, and institutions are flawed, and churches are flawed.
But let’s look at Paul. Paul condones slavery multiple times. Is Paul the final word of God? Or was Paul establishing a church in the context of the Roman Empire.
The Baptist church were abolitionists. One of its early leader Rev. Barrow called out Thomas Jefferson’s racism and demanded an end of slavery. Jefferson was cautious because of politics, and fear of civil war, so he was right to be cautious but still was morally wrong.
It doesn’t mean we can’t admire the best of Jefferson and criticize his errors. We should be critical of the history of racism in the USA.
If you are religious just have good faith discussion. Strive for the greatest truth.

Hey!! If you are in support of CRT there are some things that you need to know. If you have been told that it has to do with teaching history or teaching the impact of historic oppression you have been misled. It has nothing to do with teaching history or weeding out racism it is ultimately a fancy roundabout way of teaching race determinism. Those who teach it never admit this out right but here are what you are teaching your black child if you are allowing this in your church or school.
1)Racism is permanent and only white people can change that but they never will because it is not in their nature.
2)Because racism is permanent white people will ALWAYS have power over nonwhites
    3) Black people, therefore, are a permanent underclass and permanently oppressed
    4) logic and deductive reasoning are "white"
    5) Fairness is "white"
    6) Being nonbiased is "white"
    7)Property ownership is "white"
    8)Individuality is "white"
9)Math, science, logic and deductive reasoning are all part of the "white supremacist hegemony"
    10) Traditional family structures that include a mother and father are "white" ideas (fathers, in general, imo seem to be frowned upon)
    11) The only real hope is the Marxist restructure of society. So this pastor is either willfully ignorant or flat out LYING when he says this is not Marxist teaching. Stevie Wonder could see that this is CLEARLY Marxist. They just changed proletariat to black people and they changed bourgeoisie to white people. It uses the critical theory of Antonio Gramsci who is also a Marxist. So, Yes, if Bell said it wasn't he was lying.
By the way Marxism in and of itself is fundamentally atheistic so the more they lean into this ideology the less Christian they will become. However, it replaces God with the state so what we effectively have here is an ideology that acts kinda like the Pide Piper. Leading its gleeful followers into a life of slavery to the state and a society based on racial determinism while playing a sweet song about freedom and black power.

Give to the world what belongs to the world; give to God what belongs to God! We are NOT black!!! Say it, "Hebrews." We are Hebrews.
As for your governments and religions, well, they don't matter in the Kingdom God, for there is no American, southern baptist, black or white in the kingdom. That's the world's garbage and confusion, having nothing to do with God's will and way.
