As a pastor and a Yank, I am impressed by the King's remarks by their generous inclusivity of other faiths and by the vision Charles shared of a social order characterized by compassion and neighbor-serving love. May it be so for the UK, the Commonwealth, and the world.
Charles said he is defender "of faith"...not "The Faith"...to make everyone inclusive.
Many of our religious leaders here n the USA who spread bigotry, homophobia, and live off of the tax free grift could learn a lot from this message…

I’m not the biggest fan of the Royal family tbh but I was quite impressed that whilst we have a Govt trying to blame our emergency services fighting for better work conditions and fairer pay , for Charles to highlight how valuable these people are was a good reminder that they deserve so much better .

We lost our mom three weeks after the Queen died, so I know his pain. This speech particularly spoke to us and I am profoundly grateful. What a wonderful first Christmas speech!

As a former Police officer, and teacher, the words did indeed make me reflect on my service, it has not always been easy!
I have a lump in my throat watching the Kings first Christmas speech, this man has shown us what compassion and humility he has, God save the King and may he go from strength to strength.
I did not know how it would go this Christmas, but Charles' message was very personal and uplifting.
It was touching and he presented it very well.
The Royal Family should be shipped back to Germany as that is where they came from. In 1714 Prince Georg of Hannover was invited to Britain to become king. George I, II, III, IV and William IV all had German wives. Queen Victoria had a German husband; Gerorge V had a German wife. There is very little that is remotely English about the royal family. In 1917, they changed their family name from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor to lessen their German affiliations at a time of war with Germany, especially when Gotha aero-planes were dropping bombs on London! The British should ditch the monarchy and declare a republic.

It went very well! I too wondered how it would how it would with his mom was on his mind he did the best he could and he did very remarkable job at it! It wasn’t the same because all of us who watched the Christmas speech are used to the queen doing it for 70 years she did it, and it became tradition to sit down on Christmas Day, and watch the queen do the Christmas speech! But his majesty King Charles III did a wonderful job on it! Now I’m not from the UK or the Commonwealth, but I have watched the Christmas speech for lease 3 to 4 years now, and it has became a tradition for me to watch it! Your majesty, your mother, would be very very proud of you! God saved the king

This is a beautiful heartfelt speech. I am so impressed with King charles having gone through so much stress grief loss & many attacks from a son he loves & a daughter in law he tried to support as best he could/ Bravo king Charles! merry Christmas & the Happiest of New Years. I am far from uncritical of Charles and Camilla, but the sentiment displayed here, whether truly heartfelt or not, resonates with me. May 2024 bring us all peace, love, and joy. May our young people redeem the mistakes of previous generations and heal this planet. May we all have peace, justice, and love in our lives in the years ahead. May we all move closer in our relationship to the Divine and realise that this life is not the ultimate reality. May we practise peace, compassion, justice, and love above all else during our time on this planet. Amen.

I will admit I was skeptical of Charles. I'd of rather William be King. But after seeing this speech, I believe he's not only stepped into his role but stepped up to his role. He's ensured that everyone is included in this holiday season, not just those who believe in christmas.
it would have been so wrong to deny Charles his right to be King after he has waited his whole life to do so. . Depending on his health it may not be for too long and I'm sure William is happy to wait in line. Wiliiam & Catherine will be such a great King & Queen.Consort.

You realize this speech was of course written by other people, right? Also the intention is always to sound good to our ears, not to reflect how they actually feel in their heart. It’s more proper to judge him as a king by what he does or doesn’t actually do.

@@barndancer6149. lilymari ovic1644 is completely correct. The Monarch is never referred to as “Royal Majesty”. The Monarch is always referred to His Majesty or Her Majesty or Your Majesty. Other members of the Royal Family are referred to a His Royal Highness or Her Royal Highness or Your Royal Highness. If you have seen Royal Majesty elsewhere it is simply wrong.
Even though I am not a big fan of the royal family and following political system that found it, the message he clearly pointed is somewhat touching to all the people around the world suffering under various difficulties. It will be the hope for all of us to feel the comforts at least in the Christmas.
