What Will Happen To The Monarchy When King Charles Dies? | Business Insider Explains
I don't think the turnout for Charles will be nearly as large as it was for Elizabeth.
😂
I disagree. Charles is very much loved.
No way , he don’t deserve any body grieving, almost the whole world still remembers how cruel and despicable he and his mistress Cowmilla were to Princess Diana and to the boys , this 2 are disgrace they didn’t respect their families their spouses and finally the took the mother away from the young princes . This 2 are very cruel and he marry his mistress with no respect to his young sons Charles don’t deserve any respect or grief form the public who remembers what he and his mistress Cowmilla did .
@@Spike-yc5gx 😆 not when the truth comes out about Kate's disappearance ,or William.
You are one hundred percent true!!!!!!!!!
Queen Elizabeth II was Queen "regnant" not queen "regent" They're pronounced differently and have very different meanings.
you are so correct, and it is such a blatantly obvious and well known fact that there is a difference between a Queen Regnant and Queen Regent. Rather sad that Business Insider wouldn't know this.
No ones arsed you nerd
Exactly. I came here to say that.
A queen regnant is a monarch. A queen regent is the adult guardian of a child monarch and rules in their stead until that child comes of age. So, like, if for some reason Prince George finds himself crowned king at the tender age of 9, the queen regent's job would basically be holding the throne for him.
@@RaymondHng Exactly. A Queen regnant is a reigning monarch in her own right, as opposed to a queen consort who is the wife of a King. Both are simply called "Queen".
4:01 It's _queen regnant_ , not queen regent. A queen regnant is a monarch. A queen regent is the adult guardian of a child monarch and rules in their stead until that child comes of age. So, like, if for some reason Prince George finds himself crowned king at the tender age of 9, the queen regent's job would basically be holding the throne for him.
A regent is not limited to an adult ruling in place of a child. George IV was regent for the last 10 years of George III's reign.
I prefer operation London Bridge
That was QEII's code word
@@Big_Jo_JoTrue but it is a better name .
@@BlackStump172 A better name yes but doesn't work for him. QEII dying was historic and the saying if London bridge falls, London falls. It's a huge thing so she had a significant code name. When KC dies it's not going to be that big of a deal. His reign will most likely be very short due to his current illness. And he's not very popular. Seems cold hearted but it's true.
@@AirQuotes he hasn't the greatest of track records.
Charles just doesn't matter as much lmao
Why did I watch this?
Because it looks like the old king is dying of his cancer.
Bcoz ur a lovely person
If everyone watches it, he might die a little faster.

I mean, we just kind of went through this with the Queen?
yeah what a weird video lmao
Yes, it's really not convenient.
Queen Elizabeth , was a respected Queen , Charles don’t we have’t forget or forgive what he and his mistress Cowmilla did to 2 families hers and his they destroyed their families using Love as and scuse for their immorality , the make The young inocent naive, pure virgen Princess Diana they plan the marriage just cover up their immoral affair this 2 are just a disgrace.
Charles is ill, so he will not be King for long.
We did, it was horrible enough for me as a royalist fan. My exhaustion over the Queen’s death made me really ill in 2023 and well wishers gathered around my house and the grange hospital to wish the best for me, the Queen and Mummy, Princess of Wales my mother the best. I recovered within 3 weeks after being treated in hospital and I’m doing really well over a year now
I like King Charles, but boy, i missed Queen Elizabeth. She was something special we had.

There’s better people in the world
What do you miss about her? Do you miss your tea time with her?
@KatsuHoku4 I live in England, so of course I would miss our Majesty.

He may have metastatic cancer , as might Catherine , the Princess of Wales . We shall see but we are looking at a very dark times .
What Happens When King Charles III Dies? Simple... he will be buried.
charles isn't as popular and respected as Queen Elizabeth, people are just gonna be happy that William finally become the king. I mean after all these years a lot of people are still mad at what he did to princess diana and almost all popularity of diana transfer to william, so.... And this is such a waste of money knowing this old man ain't gonna live long but still need to change all the official documents (e.g. passport, currency, etc.) to his name and his face.
And what about what William has done to Cate
She's a goner
I am amused , as that is a very practical thought . 👍😄
Charles Don't deserve any respect after all the pain and humiliations that he and his mistress Cowmilla couse Princess Diana and his sons . his a dispecable man .
Amen, we still love and remenber Princess Diana and olso remember what Charles and his mistress Cowmilla did not just to the princess but to his sons😓, We never going to forget and forgive this 2 Adulteres for what they did.
Even if he has the worst type of cancer, sorry brain freeze, forget the type, the one Steve Jobs had, very rich Americans have lived around five years and sometimes a bit longer even at Charles age. So I would expect he'll be around for a bit.
Queen Elizabeth II was not queen "regent", she was queen "regnant". Similar sound but quite a difference.
The sound is different. REE-jent vs REG-nant (rhymes with pregnant).
It was such a stupid mistake.
We still don't tend to see Charles' face on coins or notes, just stamps so far.
5th of June the notes in circulation.
The king is dying anyway, and he won't make any big impact on anything.

They missed a huge opportunity to call the operation, "Operation Checkmate".
Love the map graphic at 1:45 where even Rockall, a tiny granite islet, way off the western coast of Scotland and inhabited only by sea birds, is included. Nice attention to detail. 🙂
i don't expect the hullabaloo will baloo as large as QE2's did. If only because she ruled for 70 years
She didn't 'rule', she 'reigned' - there's a big difference.
So many errors in this. Did anyone do their research?
4:02 queen *_regnant_* - a queen regent is someone who *de facto* reigns on behalf of a sitting monarch who is unable to do so, but the UK now has counsellors of state for that purpose.
Crowned, not "coronated".
They should have an editor to check these videos for errors.
Morbid as hell but it's good to have everything planned❤
The image at 2:11 is Westminster Abbey, not Westminster Hall.
I wonder how things will change if he abdicates first (as a number of monarchs have, including the queen of Denmark).
This video channel now turns into funeral predictions channel 😅
1:09 the capital of Canada is not somewhere in northern Alberta/North West Territories last time I checked
Same with Australia and New Zealand though I am pretty sure they are referencing the countries as a whole and not to a specific city

Charlotte will probably be the next Princess Royal when Princess Anne is no longer alive and William is the monarch. Prince Louis could be the next Duke of Edinburgh if Prince Edward is no longer alive.
@@RaymondHng The Duke of Edinburgh has a son so Prince Louis won't be Duke of Edinburgh.
@@danielkrcmar5395 The Duke Edinburgh's son, James Alexander Philip Theo Mountbatten-Windsor, has the title of Earl of Wessex. This title is hereditary. The title of The Duke of Edinburgh, however, is _not_ hereditary. It does not automatically pass onto his son. The title reverts back to The Crown after Prince Edward's death.
It’s not coronated, the word is crowned
king of judaea
5:33 of course he dedicated his life to the monarchy! You give me that much money just for being born into the right family I would dedicate the hell out of myself too!
The money isn’t contingent upon the quality of service. So your point is kinda moot when you consider he went above and beyond simply because he wanted to and he felt the obligation to
I don't think we should be reminded of his expected death at the moment. He's not that vulnerable to succumb to cancer at the moment
£160m for a funeral... insane...
it is even bigger when its a PRESIDENT
US presidential funerals cost more. Ronald Reagan’s was $400M….
King Charles is such a nice man.
I hope he pulls through.
He make his wife and children soferd si much with the help of his mistress Cowmilla , this 2 distroy 2 families they a disgrece of humanity.

Get well❤❤🎉🎉
I appreciate you making this, but if you're doing so please learn the proper pronunciations as they have different meanings. And at least get the flag of Great Britain correct that's a basic element
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves…
how do they choose bridges for such things?
why not?

I watched all the coverage as a Queen myself but in Wales instead. It was very weird to me
Couple of things here, no current bank notes have King Charles the third’s face on them and her name is Catherine not ‘Kate’.
but she calls herself Kate
Until it’s not Menai bridge because he isn’t in London or some other reason..
the British flag is called the union flag!!!! it is only called a jack when flying on a ship. possibly a worse error than regent, a duty Camilla has been doing a bit of during Charles's illness, which means on behalf of, whereas regnant means ruling
I don't want to be a pedant, but there are many casual mistakes in this video.
As many earlier comments say; please at least get the flag correct. It's basic British knowledge. Similarly: Regnant/regent. Coronation/crowned. Westminster Abbey/Hall.
My personal qualms were "businesses will shut down": No, no they won't. There is a period of mourning, but shops/businesses didn't generally shut down.
There are very precise instructions for such occasions and this video doesn't include specific nuance that anyone in Britain will have experienced previously.
It feels like an "easy content" video, where research has been half done. Even worse, when we literally went through a similar operation a few years ago (which is even mentioned), yet the video is still wrong.
I mean, there are already articles all about the specifics involved.
Like the announcements of death; sign on Buckingham gates is correct, half mast flag is correct, but past that, there are official royal correspondents who disperse this information, in a very specific way.
I could go on, but will stop this pedantry here.
Come on, its the Union Flag, not Union Jack... The Jack is the nautical term when flown on a ship.
It's the Union Jack because of the history and the fact that on land the Union Jack still has no official legal status in the United Kingdom.
Look into it's history, it's the Union Jack. Even today it has no legal status when on land in The United Kingdom.
@@danielkrcmar5395.

From my understanding of the birtish’s opinion on the king they will be happy. It’s one reason there are rumors he will succeed the throne to his son.
Perhaps the details are not released because this is a disrespectful topic to report on, One would think the King could have some privacy. He is doing amazing things for Our World, and this is what we choose to report on.

It's the Union Jack. Never heard it called the Union Flag.
It's just the same as what we have watched for years and years about the Queen Elizabeth. Just names changed
We know what happens, the queen just died a year and a half ago. Unless you have toddlers watching Business Insider, we’ve seen this before
I don’t understand why people in Britain speak South African and Australian
Because Britain colonised both those countries
Will the Royal Corgis be working?❤
This aged well
Shouldn't Monarchy fade away by now if that was the case? Besides there's no one else wanting to take the throne (or so far that I know of)
1. Queen REGENT is very different from a REGNANT. Elizabeth was a Queen Regnant, the Monarch, the Sovereign. A Regnant is not even a Queen or King because he/she is merely a "caretaker" while the King or Queen is still a minor/incapacitated, etc.
2. Crowned, not coronated.
3. Westminster Abbey is different from Westminster Hall.
what a silly question ... the same thing will happen as when his mother died ... they stop breathing ...
Rather bad timing: he is undergoing treatment. Let's all hope for the best.
It's really weird to see a program about a king's future death. Isnt this just wrong
It's even weirder that we are expected to believe that Kate is still alive.
These videos were uploaded about the late Queen for years before she actually died.
long wait for short kingship
Support for the Monorchy has not been wayned down. In fact, it has garnered more support. Anti-monorchy have always been there with small numbers. They are more popular than ever.
When George becomes Prince of Wales, he will not lose his other titles, cf. William and Charles
Prince George will still be Duke of Cornwall and Rothsay even when he's Prince of Wales.
TLDR: Pretty much he same thing that happened when Queen Elizabeth died.
I hope the RF would modernize by then to reflect the world because they’re stuck in the past.
Actually, to be sincerely honest in my humble opinion, without being sentimental and of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, and without lies to the actual truth, with my clear open mind and clean heart, expressing what ever is embedded inside me for a long time which I didn't say because I was nervous. But today by gathering all the courage and motivation, I just want to say that I actually feel and think that I have absolutely nothing to say. Thank you!😂❤️🤟🏽🇿🇲
As same as the operation london bridge.
What happens is that Prince William will open a bottle of champagne 🍾
Camilla ruined a marriage, scandals, whatever to become queen. Charles dies later due to cancer.

What? The Princess of Wales becoming Queen isn't even in question.
If William becomes King, Kate does not become Queen. At most, Queens Consort, otherwise, HRH Princess of Wales. There is never two reigning Monarchs at the same time.
