This performance with Springsteen brings back some great memories. I was staying at the Waldorf in NY for a week with a mate; we we there for the Lewis v Holyfield fight at Madison Sq., and then St Patrick’s Day. Then, on arrival we found that Bruce was being inducted to the Hall of Fame there later that week, with U2 doing the induction, and as hotel guests, we could have tickets. I am a complete Bruce and U2 nut, so could not believe our luck. Was an amazing night (and an amazing trip).
I lived for many years of my life enjoying the songs of U2, but did not understand the message they passed. Today I understand very easily the reason to make good song and show that our whole life is a constant search for someone we think we know and not know it - Jesus! But you can follow your quest towards, for surely you will find it when you least expect. He is waiting for you!
When this first came out.........it was one of the first MTV videos........and I, now much older, still haven't found what I am looking for. But I truly love this song.
Icons. Bono makes me proud to be irish, he does more for the world than anyone else does, for my junior cert english exam i actually wrote about him, the edge was also in the same exam because he was in the comprehension (thats how important they are). Bruce on the other hand is iconic for being genuine and talented. I think its also a fair point to make that theyre 2 of the only acts to have never sold out or lost there fame, they were always great.
I'm no Irish. Wish I were sometimes. But... with God as my witness, should I get ahead of you on the road we all shall travel.... make sure this is the last song my soul listens to here, on God's Green Earth, mates. Much love.
That was real good chemistry between them, both have good voices. There both equally entertaining!Hope too see them in concert before they retire for good!
I'll never forget the time my husband and I saw U2 in the late 80's when Bono had a broken arm and Bruce Springsteen came out and sang Stand By Me with Bono. It was awesome! U2 Rocks! Can't wait to see them again in July 2011!
It's fitting that the 'Rolling Stone Top 100 Greatest Artists of All Time' list has U2 and Bruce Springsteen next to each other at #22 and #23, respectively. They're both equally legendary.
I saw them on stage together in Philly once. I think it was a U2 concert, but I am no longer sure. I just remember that as they sang, I decided that I could now die happy.
great talking from edge, he's fantastic, and then the boss, and the master together, this is creapy, i never knew i could have so much goosebumps at the same time
Two of the greatest musicians of all time together singing an absolutely classic song......my opinion would be that there was HUGE mutual respect and honour right there
I first heard this song, aged 11, with my mum driving to a friend's. The feeling I felt was so chemical and ecstatic in nature. My mum said she 'liked some of their stuff'; I was hooked ever since those 4 sensational minutes.
As for as I'm concerned I like a lot this song, But This is awesome to unit Bono and Bruce Springteens which are amongst the greatest voices in the world and for 2 of 5 greatest voices in the grave. Thank tou for this sharing. Sorry for my English I'm French
Хорошо, что Брюсу показали в какой тональности играть! )) А помните, когда Боно сломал руку во время американских гастролей, то Спрингстин играл вместе с U2 на гитаре! Как будто на гитаре Боно! From Russia with Love!
...Waiting in line to be The World's Greatest R&R Band. When the Stones retire, U2 will be. The Boss is The Boss and though he would be flattered at the compliment, There is only one King. Bono and Bruce have acknowledged this. And before the King, there was the Blues: It had a baby, named rock and roll.
I've just spent the last hour going through my U2 album collection trying to pick out my favourite song...But i still havent found what I'm looking for.
buno is a mad artisit in a mad band, u2 makes some wonderful music, nd u know wat makes buno even better his american or pom. u2 are the greatest band ever

A sing off between the Boss and Bono - nice! Two very characterful singers and one of U2's best songs from their 1980's heyday.
The way he sings 'honey' in this performance is terribly awesome.
Can't get any better than this! Love this song so much! U2 rocks!
I´m so damned happy to have grown up in the 80ies.
Nothing will ever be able to top that.
I'm not a devoted U2 fan but this is a very pleasant song... ;-)
Bruce has a very powerful voice, it works nicely with this song.
Jesus- Brucie can certainly make any song his, can't he? Awesome. The man's a legend for a reason, folks.
I love this song and having two of the all-time greats performing it makes it even better.
After my sister put Ke$ha up at practically full volume for two hours, I find solitude and tranquility in U2, which thankfully still makes REAL music.
I'VE ALWAYS LOVED THIS SONG! SO GREATFUL TO HEAR IT LIVE! THANKS FOR THIS WONDERFUL POST!
Why only 6.400.000 have seen this great song done by the best artist in the world. The hole world should see and enjoy it. Love you Bruce and U2 !!!

I lived for many years of my life enjoying the songs of U2, but did not understand the message they passed. Today I understand very easily the reason to make good song and show that our whole life is a constant search for someone we think we know and not know it - Jesus!

I´ve been finding the best song of U2 for hours, but I still haven´t found what I´m looking for...

I'll never forget the time my husband and I saw U2 in the late 80's when Bono had a broken arm and Bruce Springsteen came out and sang Stand By Me with Bono. It was awesome! U2 Rocks! Can't wait to see them again in July 2011!
Compelling song, compelling voices by both legends.........If we can figure out what we're looking for then maybe we'll find it.

This version of this song is, for me, addictive!
why would anyone want to compare these two legends. they are both great and their own ways. it is insulting to both of them to try and compare.
great talking from edge, he's fantastic, and then the boss, and the master together, this is creapy, i never knew i could have so much goosebumps at the same time
