Elly Ameling films Byōdō-in (平等院)

I would like to show you a film where I am not singing for you, but showing what I did in between concerts. Most of that time was filled with travelling, and my hobby was filming the beauty I observed.
You will not see me, but you will hear my comments.
I hope you will enjoy this layman’s work on a very fine subject.
Here is Japan , we find ourselves in Uji, between Kyoto and Nara. These films were made during two visits: one in the fall of 1992 and one in springtime 2002.

A very good tour report from one of the most experienced tourist in the world. I enjoyed some of your concerts in the 1980s in Tokyo and one in London, was it at Wigmore Hall? As for the Byodo-in, I visited there only once 50 years ago in my high school trip. Though it was also a popular destination back then, it was nothing compared with the recent over-crowded situation.
