Thank you. Your words and your voice are an ivnspiration.
Please listen to the late Soprano, Chloe Owen sing the Berg on RUclips.
Magnificent - thank you..!
Perfection; the greatest voice lesson for a man OR a woman. I can no longer hear another soprano sing this piece. I often wish you would turn on the camera and simply sit and talk about your career for hours! Just simply ramble. Heaven.
Thank you.
Utterly beautiful. Moved to tears.
Gold amidst the dross of the internet!
Wunderbar Maestra !!!!!!!!! Ich habe Sie in Kanada getroffen, bei University of British Columbia in Vancouver !!!!!
Frank Martin was one of the greatest twentieth composers, alongside Stravinsky and Messiaen. He composed works of timeless beauty. Very very few composers have held back compositions from publication and performance - which then, after publication, attained the status of masterpiece. Such is the case for Martin’s Mass for double choir a capella (1922/1926).
Love you, dear Elly. It's such a pleasure to discover your channel. Thank you for sharing your insights with us.
Madame Ameling, a thrill to view this as my late wife (Marjory Halvorson) was a participant two years in a row in a summer music program in Munich. As a singer she was thrilled to have studied with you accompanied by both Jorg Demus and Rudolph Jansen.
A wonderful idea to have your annotated score - thank you, Elly!
Ha! YOU are not an "Influencer" because you are in a class of your own!!! I truly love you!
I wait for your videos and wisdom!!!
Late 1976 i was in the Congresbuilding suppoost in the Hague and opened the door and saw a woman rehearsing on stage, i thought, she can sing, who the hell was she? She smiled and I was just starting my study solo vocals at the Royal conservatoire of the Hague! The las Dutch International Dutch Liedsinger!
Thank you for these videos! You were my first favorite singer, and your recordings (I think I have all of them) are etched into my mind's ear. It is amazing to hear you talk about music and poetry. Simply amazing. Your voice is always the voice I hear in my head when I am writing songs. Your voice (and your musicianship) is and always has been a huge part of my life. It makes me so happy to get to watch these videos and to write this message to you. I would say that you have always been an "influencer" to those of us who love music and those of us who make music.
❤ Thank you for so much pleasure, always!❤
This showed up in my recommended list after I listened to several of your Mörike-Lieder, and I'm convinced it's a sign that I should put this one on my recital.
You are one of my heroes in music!!!! Thank you. I grew up listening to you. Many blessings
Dear Ms. Ameling: you are an influencer to me without any doubt, but not what the modern day meaning of an influencer who tries to sell a product or promotes a business so the influencer can receive profits or free samples from the manufactures. You are influencing the willing listeners with your life time body of works in recordings of what it meant to have the integrity, and the intelligence to interpret a piece of music written a hundred, or two hundred years ago and be the voice for the composers the best way you can. The purpose is to reproduce the written music the most honest way a singer can without the ego. You pass on the knowledge to the students the correct way to read music, or to the audience how to appreciate the singing of pure and elegant tonality without the thick, heavy, manufactured mature sound that we tend to hear these days. Just like Wunderlich, Fischer-Dieskau, just to name a few, you are all great influencers to those who are willing to listen.
You're wonderful!
Geachte Mevr Ameling. Lieve Elly.
What a blessing to my life is, and has been, Elly Ameling.
Most instructive comparison. And beautiful interpretation. Thanks ! The way Debussy goes from heaven (Eros) to mud (Thanatos) and back is properly sublime.
I heard you live at the Rogers Auditorium at the Met Museum singing Schubert’s “Hirt” - and then, more recently, giving a master class at the San Francisco Conservatory - both unforgettable. Your interpretations (on Philips LPs) of Wolf lieder remain the most profound of all (and I have dozens of Wolf recordings). However, several of your best (selections from Ital Liederb with DB) I believe have not yet made it to CD - is this correct? I sincerely hope they are reissued - under any sponsorship. This series of videos is truly remarkable and a wonderful monument to your unique art. Thank you for this gift to us.
Wonderful!
Hello, Ms. Ameling. Could you ask Decca Eloquence to re-issue the Philips Recitals Box? I hope all is well.
Your Schubert was wonderful. You introduced his lieder to me for which I am forever grateful.
As someone once said: it's all about the details. Quite marvelous. Thank you so much.
I just discovered this channel and my goal is to watch every video!
Thanks!
Madame Ameling, you were the greatest inspiration of the finest singer I have known personally, the late Kari Windingstad. This video shows me what she so prized in you and your singing. Thank you for making this, and please continue to share your musings with us!
How beautiful!!😍 I always loved these recordings so much!
What a delight ! And so charmingly presented ! Many thanks.
A consummate artist...grateful to have heard her and Baldwin live back in the 80s...
Thank you, Elly - so love hearing you speak on this golden repertoire and listening to your exquisite recordings!
GREAT voice; and GREAT art....
Beautiful!
Fabulous, gracious lady.
Elly, you're such a great teacher of music, not only of singing!
In een woord, prachtig…
Merci! Quelles merveilleuses chansons!
Thank you so much for doing this, and doing it so beautifully.
What a beautiful singer!!
Hello Elly from San Francisco! I remember so dearly our performances of The Bonne Chansons- :)
I adore these videos. Long may they continue!
How incredibly beautiful ♥️
Heavenly. Sincerely, heavenly.
I do not know what to wonder more, all your superior heavenly recordings or your enthusiasm for music that amaze us to this day.
I adore you, and have all your records. Thank you for your Art. 🙏
