A reminder that the greatest artists are those who put the composer and the music first. I've admired Elly Ameling for my entire professional musical life. Once, maybe 30 years ago, I nearly met her: returning from Amsterdam (where I had visited my good friend, and another great artist from Holland, Max van Egmond), I found myself in the immigration line for entry to the United States (returning to Boston). Standing just before me in line was a lady I was sure I recognized; after she had gone through Immigration, I took my turn. The officer noted that I was a musician and asked if I knew the lady who had preceded me (also "a musician", he told me). I asked the name, and he responded "Elisabeth Ameling"! Too late, I realised my missed opportunity to meet one of my musical heros, as she had already left to proceed (I think) to another plane taking her to Yale for a masterclass. So, I was once that close! Thankyou, Ms. Ameling for these beautiful videos, your wisdom and a powerful reminder of why we are involved in music in the first place. I still hold out hope that the recording you and Max did together (around 1984!) of the Constantijn Huygens Pathodia will one day reappear!. Thanks again, and best regards, Peter Watchorn, Cambridge, MA USA
Two sessions in less than 24 hours! Thank you, great lady.

Would love to hear you talk about a few of your favorite recordings of Christmas music (even your own)!
She is a goddess.
