  • Real world MPG test on my 2023 Honda Civic Sport with 6 speed manual transmission. This car has the 2.0L (K20C2) port injected engine, so these results really surprised me!

I went to get a 24 Civic sport 6mt after watching your video a month ago. As a fun daily driver, my mixed MPG is about 32-33. Pure highway 40-45. I do a lot coasting if I see a red light in front. Much better gas mileage than my first car (1992 prelude 5MT with 2.2L H22A)! But worse than Cruze Eco 6mt I used to drive (55-60 mpg in highway, and 38-40 mixed).

I have a 2023 Civic Sport with the 2.0 (K20C2) and the CVT getting 34.5mpg in the city! I like the car a lot because its more reliable than the 1.5T, also it's port injected. Lastly, I will change the CVT fluid and filter every 25k miles along with oil changes every 3-4K miles. Love your civic!!!

I purchased a 2023 HR-V AWD Sport, but only available in a cvt tranny. I will say I do like Hondas CVT better than I had in my 2021 Corolla hatchback. The engine in the HR-V is same as the civic sport, a 2.0 port injected 4! The best I have achieved is 31mpg combined commuting to work. And just as you stated, the computer shows 1.5 mpg better. I went with the HR-V because of seat height & ground clearance with AWD. I do wish a standard transmission was an option. though. Your civic sport is very nice. Like you I do not want a sun roof so went with the Sport over the EX-L. The civic seats look great. This is my 319th car in 55 years of driving. This new gen HR-V reminds me a lot of the 2005 CR-V EX I once owned.

waiting for the 24’. the reliability seems insane and not only does the tech and quality seem great, but it’s a HATCH🏆

Hi thanks for all of the info you’ve mentioned on your vid. I do have the same car as yours but the automatic one. Just wondering, is econ really a gas saver for automatic or just doing nothing? And one more thing is resetting trip could help up increase your MPG?

I averaged 38-39 mpg on my 400 mile road trip its very efficient. For being the NA 2.0

Just got a Pearl Black 2023 Sport Hatch with the HPD package. In love with this car. The black rims with black exterior color looks so sick. I’m getting about 35 MPG.

Very impressive! The Econ button also affects the air conditioning system, so might result in an mpg gain.

I have the 1.5T hatch, love the wing. Looking into getting the same in white. A lot cleaner than hpd. I’m in Rochester also, not too far

That's impressive. I saw the segment with your previous civic towing the trailer with 2 motorcycles. Curious about you doing some towing with this Honda? Hopefully it's in the works and looking forward to how that goes.

I have the same car and got 39.4 average for a road trip with about 95% highway miles and blasting AC about 80% of it. Best highway milage I have ever had in a car. FYI, eco in this car just limits the gas peddle. Just control your throttle and gears, and you can make it super efficient without it.

  • @mtrich1090

NAUS, can you do a video on backup camera? What's your opinion on lift kit for the car?

  • @LuisAlvarez-wb4wc

I got a 2023 Civic Sport hatchback with a manual transmission in February. I live in Las Vegas and it is very hot right now, so I have the A/C blasting on full. I also always turn off the idle stop, because I find it annoying, and most of my driving is not on the highway, so I spend a lot of time sitting at traffic lights. With all that in mind, my usual mpg shows at around 26-27. I wish I could spend more time on the highway to get my mpg up a little. 🙂

Those calculations with that small fuel input lead to easy to point out errors. Use your head, spread the error out more. Track multiple fill ups without resetting the trip counter and you’ll get more accurate results.

Right 100% regarding overestimation on the comp. assumed mileage. I have had a 2023 RAM Warlock and it also overestimates, it might read 18.2 but in the city i get about 16.5 -17 so i calculate the REAL way. I am going to take a peek at a 24 Sport manual tomorrow in red for a 2nd vehicle. I had a 2021 Kia Forte 6 speed manual and i got 40 hwy once in a while but not sure about long term longevity of the Kia and H?

I live in los angeles so the traffic here makes it hard to get high mpg, i have 2015 TLX with the NA 2.4 liter 4 cylinder and i average 23 mpg combined but i do stop and go traffic a lot and a lot of stop signs and ac on blast. I do love how your civic is the port injected though...
