    Thank you so much for these videos! In my second mocks, I went from a grade 6 in lang and 5 in lit to two 9s in both! I am certain this video and the character analyses was the key!

      You've got this. I suggest you have a look at my latest video as that has some last minute tips which may calm your nerves. For nerves, when you're at your exam desk I suggest trying square breathing or another grounding technique to get in the zone before you start.
      All the best! If you get a chance let me know how it goes.

    What about questions on specific characters? For my mock I was asked about how Steinbeck explores the relationship between Curley and Curley's wife and I got a 4 because I couldn't link anything to the relationship other than her loneliness so it was hard to write 2 strong paras

      Have a look at my playlists as you'll see I have videos on all the major characters. For your mock question, you could consider power/sexism in society, how Curley's Wife cannot achieve her dream, Curley having less authority than Slim etc... I suggest you watch my two videos on Curley's Wife and Curley/Slim.

    could you do videos where eg you compare a grade 9 essay to a grade 8 and grade 7 essay? that would be perfect!

    Do you we need to explore setting in our paragraphs

      You don't need to, but for some questions it would be valuable to and could show your perceptive critical style.

    Hi there, I want to ask how many quotes per point/paragraph should I use? the tips are very useful!

    • @LikeAnExpertRevision
      @LikeAnExpertRevision  2 года назад +3

      There is no set number, but as a general rule aim for one or two per paragraph. See if you can work them into the paragraph if you can - e.g. When Curly's Wife is described as having 'the eye', it shows etc... This will make your writing flow and give you more time to work on your critical argument.

    Hi, would the question about animals be a character type of question or in the theme?

    • @LikeAnExpertRevision
      @LikeAnExpertRevision  9 месяцев назад

      Depends on how it is phrased but it's more likely to be a theme question.

  • @user-yr5pz6xt2w

    hey, if i have a theme question, how many characters do u reckon i should talk about ?

    • @LikeAnExpertRevision
      @LikeAnExpertRevision  8 месяцев назад +1

      If it's a theme question, you'd ideally want to discuss how that theme relates to multiple characters. It might not work for every question, but in most cases I'd suggest choosing three characters and writing a paragraph about each of them.
