In this video I restore a Montblanc 244 piston fountain pen with a defective spindle.
The Montblanc was produced between 1950 and 1954. The body, the grip and the cap are made of celluloid.

    Have fun watching.
The video is for entertainment purposes only and is not a tutorial on how to repair Montblanc fountain pens. I assume no liability should damage occur due to imitation.

Amazing work and beautiful pen! Montblanc pens are masterpieces of engineering. Pen is full disassemblable, what is brillant.
Have you thought about replacing cork piston with something newer e.g. o-rings? Cork is not the best material for pistons seala that is why it has been completely displaced by plastics.

Hi Kryj, thanks for your comment.
Cork as a sealing material is indeed not the best we know these days. But collectors of antique writing instruments generally prefer the "authentic" way.
The corks are soaked in paraffin before installation to increase their durability.
      Best regards.
