In this video I restore two Montblanc 322 push button fountain pens.
These fountain pens were produced by Montblanc between1935 and 1940 (the pearl marbled only until 1938). Both fountain pens need a new ink bag and a bit of finish work.

    Have fun watching.

The video is for entertainment purposes only and is not a tutorial on how to repair Montblanc fountain pens. I assume no liability should damage occur due to imitation.

Thanks for this video!!!, I am the happy owner of a non-functioning 344 1/2. It is piston filled and said piston is frozen so I look forward to send it to repair.
On a side note, it has an unusual nib (a gold number 4 corresponding to a higher grade Montblanc pen) and the end cap hiding the piston screw head - where the model is - has a simple dot instead of the nib size. What kind of little beast do I have and does it have an interesting history?

Hello! Very nice restoration. What grid sandpaper did you use to remove the oxidation on the hard rubber? I have some very oxidized user-grade pens I'd like to polish up but I've not been able to restore the color like you did.

      Hello, thanks for your comment.
I usually start with a 1000 grit, then 1500 grit and finally 2000 grit. (2500 grit can also be used well if you have it to hand).
In some cases I start with a 500 grit. But this quickly removes too much material and creates scratches that can be easily seen later if you do not sand very well with the 1000 grit.

I've only recently discovered your channel. Very useful and interesting content. I'd love to find out where you got your knock-out block. Also, did I miss where you worked on the apparent corrosion around the button on the hard rubber pen? What did you use to get rid of that? Thanks.

      Hello, thanks for the comment.
I have built the knock out block myself. Actually, it should already be available for purchase on my homepage, but I am currently rebuilding my workshop, so it will take a while.
The corrusion I have simply removed with metal polish. If it is too tough, I also like to use very fine sandpaper.
      Best regards.

Great pens and good job done! I have a Monte Rosa pen to restoration. Do you know anything about if imprints in this pen were also white-filled? And what type of paint do you use for filling imprints? Acrylic or oil?

Hi Kryj, thanks for your comment.
I don't have a Monte Rosa myself, but looking at pictures online, most of the engravings are gold lined.
I use "Markal Lacquer-Stik" to refill the engravings.
