But it's only because AD used to play point guard at high school, he was smaller back then but he grew and grew taller until he switched to power forward. Stan Dando what are you talking about?we never had an issue.Nick Calathes and Kostas Koufos play for the national team and they are Greek-Americans.So why not Giannis?Unless he didn't want to.But fortunately he does like crazy if you've seen any of the Greek national teams matches.
Both his parents are Nigerian and both of them were athletes, so his athleticism is largely genetic and has everything to do with his African ancestry. On the other hand, although I don't know much about basketball, the way he plays tactically and the way he thinks in game and outside it show that he was raised in Greece.
Not all Greeks have similar opinion on those issues. When someone is successful, everyone accepts them. And because of his character pretty much everyone accepts him as Greek. There will always be some exceptions.
And if you want my personal opinion on this, Giannis is more Greek than Koufos and Kalathis who are in essence just American.

I think the bigger story no one is talking about is how Lebron is breeding a generation of all around players. Most of the new stars all said they wanted to be like Lebron and most of them mentioned his ability to do everything. This is what makes Lebron a legend. A lot of the new players want to shoot pass and rebound something really unheard of from so many different players at once.
I agree that people do look up to him like that but Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson were able to do that a long time ago.

I have been waiting this video about this guy. Greek freak is simply amazing. I think he is already playing at superstar level. With more experience and possible 3-point shooting ability, this guy can even surpass players like Lebron and KD. Antetokounmpo is 6'11? With that crazy wingspan, huge hands and court vision... he will definitely be in that MVP race in the future if he can stay healthy.

giannis should run the point the whole of next season. first they traded brandon knight because they thought carter-williams would be better. That didn't work out either. Giannis is that jason kiddd style player player that the bucks wan't. He is effectively a lot taller, way more athletic version of kidd. Under his guidance he should develop the iq and mental side as well.
I remember, his draft class I always wondered why he went so late in his draft.
