I remember going to the mall to pick up the 3DS when it came out, being so hyped for what this game had to offer. It was certainly fun of course (It's Mario Kart) but it just happened to follow up Mario Kart Wii like you said. Great Video!
7 is an obvious and valid pick but I’d also definitely name Super Circuit. It’s shockingly good for what it is, especially when significantly worse games like MK64 (which is just a bad game) get heaps of praise.
It’s weird calling Mario Kart 7 under-appreciated, since it is the best selling game on one of Nintendo’s best-selling devices (globally out-selling the NES, XBONE, SNES, N64 and SEGA Genesis), but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t greatly overshadowed in the general Mario Kart discourse, especially compared to DS, WII and 8DX. Mario Kart 7 was *the* game I spent the most time playing in my 3DS days, and while I’ll admit it wasn’t as great as MKDS I still had loads of fun with 7. The nitro tracks are still consistently great, the retro track selection generally outclasses MKW’s retro GP picks in both choices and additions, and the online’s great too. If I were to get a new 3DS in the future, I’d definitely mod it and the game so I could get CTGP-7.
Good video! While I consider Mario Kart: Super Circuit the most underrated as so many people consider it to be one of the worst, I can agree Mario Kart 7 is pretty underrated as well. I agree with a lot of your points here and especially that it definitely has the best retro course selection in the series. This was the first game to introduce underwater sections, sections in place of laps for a few courses and gliding sections which are all very fun additions. I was disappointed however that you mentioned Wuhu Loop and a bunch of other tracks but not Maka Wuhu as I consider it to be one of the best tracks in the game. Also here is why I consider Mario Kart: Super Circuit to be really underrated: There are 20 new tracks in the game and I find a lot of them to be really good. Cheese Land, Sky Garden, Sunset Wilds, and Ribbon Road are the main 4 that I usually consider to be the best in the game as they all take place in very different settings and the gameplay, layout and music in all 4 courses are really solid. Some other courses that stand out to me are Riverside Park, Bowser Castle 3, Lakeside Park, Bowser Castle 4 and the GBA version of Rainbow Road. This game also brings back all of the SNES tracks making it the first Mario Kart game to include retro tracks. This means there are 40 tracks in total which is more than any other Mario Kart game up until Mario Kart 8. Despite the limitations of the GBA, a lot of the SNES remakes are pretty solid. Ghost Valley 3 is probably my favorite as it has an improved more spooky background than the original and it is one of my favorite SNES courses. Some other solid retro tracks in the game include Mario Circuit 2, the Koopa Beach Courses, Bowser Castle 3, Donut Plains 3 and Rainbow Road although the removal of the thwomps subtracts it a few points. The graphics and controls are actually pretty good despite being on the GBA as well. The game also includes a gameplay mode called “quick run” which is a fun single player vs. mode.
MK7 is the first Mario game I ever played because it was bundled with my 2DS. I still have that same exact electric blue 2DS today, and I’m now trying to beat my old time trial records.
For me, the fact that there's no VS mode kills any desire to play this Mario Kart again once you've finished the cups. If you want to play one or more specific races, you either have to do the whole cup, which is really impractical, or do time trials, which is the most boring mode.
to me, mario kart super circuit is the most underrated. with tracks that are a mix of smk and mk64 and great music. and if super mario kart didn't had the cpus cheating, mk7 would be the worst game in the series 💀
I love this game so much. The amount of hours ive spent playing this game is unbelievable
this would of been my favorite Mario Kart if it had a vs mode
oh well, there is always GTGP
Mario Kart 7 is my favorite Mario Kart game ever
I'l never change my mind on that one for sure

I only played Mario kart 7, Mario kart DS, and Mario kart 8 deluxe, all Mario karts feels like Mario kart, and that is the importance
Amen

Absolutely. I actually made a video on Super Circuit a couple months ago.
@@YoshiKart Okay I will watch it

I thought it might be Tour, but you have a good point.

MK7 is the first Mario Kart I played , ah good memories😌
Mario Kart 7 is a great game. It would’ve easily been my favorite if it had a VS mode. It’s a shame it didn’t get added.
By far the best handheld mario kart not on a hybrid, MK7 is top 3 in my books and is worthy of being the successor to wii despite being weaker.
Super Mario Kart
Agreed 😊
The best ❤️
This my 1st best Mario Kart game ever and I played in my old aqua blue Nintendo 3DS

Nah at least the fact the cpu’s cheat in smk is the reason its not a bad game, and mk7 is basically 8 lite. The only BAD game in the series is DS.
