While watching this really good review I heard a loud boom. After that another one. Just needed to wait 4 minutes till I heard sirens and eventually just lights... I looked outside and there where the officers arresting a man... I couldn't sleep at all...

On the exact same day you posted this I was at Hong Kong airport arriving from helsinki on finnair!

WTF is wrong with all these airlines cramming 10 abreast economy seats in their 777's when this aircraft was originally made for 9 abreast seats. what a NIGHTMARE!!

It depends on how you design the seat actually. In this Emirates wins big time. I have flown on both the 777s of Air India(3-3-3) and Emirates(3-4-3) and clearly the latter predominates in width and pitch and comfort too. I don't really know how they do it but as long as it's good I am okay with it.
you always have to give in on width and you know best it is to make more profit. For the rest it depends on what material the seats are made. In klm the seats doesn't look comfortable in economy but can't say for sure because never flew with this airline.
Tbh this is the best flight report I've ever watched! It was incredibly helpful to me if I was to travel on KLM next time to Europe with all sorts of details included! Btw, did you know you can fly directly on Lufthansa from Hong Kong to Munich? Also to Frankfurt and perhaps from Taipei ^._.^
Thank you very much! Glad you've enjoyed it! Yes, we know that you can fly direct but we love flying that's why we often book flights with layovers. It's also much cheaper. We've only paid 390€ for Munich - Amsterdam - Taipei - Hongkong - Amsterdam - Munich (5 flights/ 2 long-haul).

Great trip Report, I love the editing! You know, you can use the t1-t2 train in HKG, it has 2 stops in T1, one in the beggining of the airside zone and one where the terminal splits, it's free!

Nice and if you look at the KLM employee blog post about aircraft names all the B777 fleet are named after national parks or UNESCO sites while the A330 fleet are named after city squares
All in All KLM is not that bad , i flew last year with them from Shanghai back to Amsterdam , also B. 777-200ER , they had good legroom , but hard seats , my numbed leg ( because of Herniated disc in the past) was bothering me during that flight , but all in all not bad !

I'm currently flying to kos airport from Gatwick on a Boeing 737, and the windows are actually rather larger for a really small plain. Btw, we are currently flying over the Alps!!!

I flied with the 747-400 City of Bejing from Hong Kong to Amsterda, it was a very old plane with the old cabin

Did you have any problems with your checked in baggage being lost?
Not on this flight, no.
The boarding process seems to differ for each and every destination. When I flew from AMS to OR Tambo (Joburg) in the beginning of september this year and back (the trip back with the same beauty you flew in: PH-BQI), there were specified boarding groups (total of 5, excluding the parents with little children). With respect to the eyemask, you can always go and ask the cabin attendant to give you one. They are included on night flights, together with a toothbrush, toothpaste and another bottle of water.
Furthermore the seats are indeed nice to look at but feel very uncomfortable. sadly enough this is going to be mandatory on almost each airliner :( the IFE was in my experience really good, however one improvement point on that is the selection of what episode of a show you want to watch, instead of offering just 1 episode from that show.
With regards to the legroom, I am a tall dutchy, and even I had more then enough room for my legs. Normally I am like squezed inbetween the two seats..
I like to fligh with KLM :-)

This flight should be in a B747 not 777
The flight along with the airlines Seoul-Incheon route is gradually switching over from 747s to 777s and many of KLM's Asia-Pacific flight routes are not covered by 747s, even Beijing is no longer a 747.

Cognac and sparkling wine are usually not available in Economy Class on any airline.
Real cognac or champagne is mit served on economy indeed. But brandy or sparkling wine quite often. KLM and LH served brandy after tea/coffee service

If you have a AF KL fidelity card you can take one checked suitcase for free
Baggage not included in a Legacy carrier shame on you KLM the same with BA ones great airlines becoming a shadow of their former glory .
ABSDEFRD These days airlines are offering reduced fares compared to previous years. The lowest fares these days may not include baggage. KLM offers the next tier fare which includes baggage so quality has not dropped.

Ich bin auch letztens mit KLM geflogen.. Ja, der Salat war sehr eckelhaft. Vorallem die Tomaten waren richtig zum kotzen.

I hate boarding groups..
And actual study’s, made in the US (where boarding groups are being used for many years) show, that there is absolutely no improvement in total boarding speed. More: in many cases it slowers boarding Speed. Because in standard boarding there is a statistic chance, that passengers spread, wich is not possible with groups.
Nevertheless boarding groups are more logistic work to the airline and comes with dozens of announcements at the gate.
But it definitely increases the passenger experience because you can just remain seated until it‘s your turn and queues don‘t block the whole plane.

Is just prefer boarding when ever i want to.. Mostly i sit to the very end, when there left 4-5 people in the que and then board.
But i guess everyone has his/her own preference :-)
