In my opinion the best seat would be the seat left from you. It’s a single seat also but had a window view.
That's also a great seat!
I prefer the upstairs seats, especially the ones after the emergency exits.
upstairs is first class mate... much more expensive

Dan, I lived in AMS for 3 yrs. and flew KLM business exclusively during that time. Your review was spot on, good seat, food and solid service. The real benefit to KLM from Schiphol is that they fly non stop to a significant amount of destinations!I have selected 4e seat before and found it not very private at all with service staff and passengers constantly walking by to the toilets. Agree with others comments, either upper deck or forward seats on lower deck are best for privacy, however, this is always a personal preference. Excellent and fair review! Thanks Dan

Amazing video. Unfortunately I only experienced KLM in economy class and as a Dutch person I’m very proud of my home airline. We may not have the flashy service, most comfortable seats and sophistication food, but it couldn’t get any more Dutch with them :)

My father is dutch🇱🇺 so we're always travelling with KLM and I love them. They always have nice staff, good food and for me it's always a pleasure to fly with them.
That tour was really cool, I'd love to have something like that when I'm flying.

This one means a lot to me, since my first ever long haul flight was on that aircraft, when I flew from Amsterdam to Beijing on PH-BFR (sadly now retired) a few years ago. When you walked through Economy class, this video brought back memories to me from when I was 13 years old. Thanks again and keep up the good work! Finally seeing you review KLM is a dream! I have only ever flown economy (since I was little) and it’s still amazing. I love whenever we get to fly KLM (also because I’m a bit biased since it’s my home country’s airline).

The KLM route from Amsterdam to Tokyo is also really good! The staff is really friendly and the food was delicious even if it wasn't a chosen one. The check in could happen anytime which was even more handy because I was crazy early. I recommend KLM it's worth the money. Didn't have a delay either.

You can get it for around 1500 Euro as well, did that many times before when I travelled a lot to Hong Kong (but also economy for less than 500)...
I come from that country its a mess up that klm

Wow thanks for this review Dan! I have to say, I am super excited to see that the Bus. Class service is quite good! I love the small touches-to me those matter the most. I think the ONLY criticism I have is something to put on the seat for sleeping and a blanket to cover-not sure if that was clear on the vid whether that was the case or not. I LOVE the small token gift at the end.

Hey Dan,very nice video great KLM service,I liked the seat and awesome leg room.I have flown KLM Business several times and was always impressed.Years ago i flew KLM Royal First Class from LAX AMS.Now its only Business and Economy,sure wish they still had a First Class cabin it was.absolutely wonderful.Keep making your awesome videos I truly Love them.

I flew in the same seat JFK-AMS in January '20. It was a short flight with favorable tail winds. I appreciated the extra wide armrest on the right side. I connected my IPad to the inflight WiFi to watch movies. The seats IFE screen wasn't hi-def. Food and inflight service were fantastic. French Toast Breakfast was very tasty also. The signature drink was ok. I would have preferred either Baileys or a wider variety beer menu. Overall it was an out of this world experience for me. And the 747, I'm in love!
Great advice from the cabin crew on a previous video, my rule on long haul flights, shoes off when the seatbelt sign goes off, back on 30 minutes before landing. Had 2 KLM flights today TXL-AMS-INV, all arrived early with excellent service from crew. KLM are one of the few airlines in Europe that still provide food and beverages in the price, BA stopped doing that last year. Euro Traveller would have charged me 30 euro for my water, snacks and wines.

Great video and how lucky to see the cargo area. I have only tried KLM on a European route but was very impressed. Would love to try long haul with the airline.
12:58 this gave me soooo many throwbacks as a kid I use to ask if I could see the "horses".... Between AMS-LAX flights as often polo players and show jumpers would have the horses travel on KLM flights. Cabin crew would look at me all confused as to how I knew of this info, but it was always such a cool experience to go back their.

Dan love your video please I have a question I do have plenty of airline miles
Unused because they have from different airlines is there a platform that allows put them together and use them towards an upgrade etc. ?
I fly KLM business long haul a couple of times a year and the service is always great. Schiphol is a great airport too, easy to find your way around.
My husband and I flew in 1J and 1K from LA to Amsterdam recently. Those seat seem very private. I've heard people call the seat you were in the Captain Kirk seat. It was fun to get a chance to fly in the front of a 747 before they disappear. I thought the service and food were both great. Schiphol was just fine too although the lounge is pretty shabby. Security forced on KLM by the U.S. government was a bit of a pain and I was selected for enhanced scrutiny. Good review all in all.
Getting to see the cargo area was quite unique :) ! Im not sure id like that middle seat personally but you said you slept reasonably well. I'd be worried about being woken up by CC/ Other pax moving around the cabin past me but reassured to see it wasn't as much of an issue as I thought it would be.

Very nice vid! In AMS some gates have security for flights to the US mainly, but that was for when the central security was not introduced yet!
