B P hmm.. I got a 98 spec one and it runs perfect, no leaks 200psi compression all 4 cylinders, only thing bad was the dizzy was no good....don’t know where your getting your swaps from but maybe that could be the problem?

Bought several motors from the same place always (jdm engine zone in clifton) the only one that ever gave me a problem was a redtop euro r h22a and even then the guys at the warehouse allowed me to split a longblock and take the shortblock free of charge and any sensors that i needed. I worked next door to them at the time when i bought my first swap. Bought an sti and haven't looked back at hondas since.
That valve cover is been repainted, 1.the give away is when he took the oil cap off..should be no paint under it..2. Type r valve cover has no shine to it...still if its real type R for $500 i wouldnt complaint if it was pink
It looks like it's either really really low miles, or it was cleaned really well before it was put away for a while. Maybe both. Great looking motor. Isn't this worth like $3-$4k?

Type r motors run around $2400-5000 not sure why they run so high it’s a Honda motor.. pushing 201 hp.. l series are cheaper and pushes more power but B-series are nice Red toop👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤️😎

Steve wouldn't just off load an engine dirt cheap knowing he can get 4-6 times that amount listing it online. Someone wanted to get this off their hands real quick, under the radar, and it probably wasnt the original purchaser. Looks like a project engine waiting to be mounted in a shell still sitting in a body shop. Valve cover looks mint because its been resprayed. Dead giveaway when you removed the oil cap. Whoever this belonged to before spent some time cleaning and assembling this motor. Nevertheless, nice come up. I'm not sure I know many others who wouldnt jump on a $500 B-series engine. Hard to believe its completely legit. Only the person who sold it to you would know the answer to that.
