    OMG the music! Completely unnecessary, distracting and really annoying. Why?

    Vertical axis wind turbines have advantages.
    The drive and generator at the bottom of the tower for easy maintenance.
    Can pick up wind from any direction and work well in low wind.
    Aluminium honycomb blades are a bonus.

    The Darrieus is a good turbine for H2 production, but not in this way of the design. The turbine should not be placed in the centre, but on the outside of the circle. This way the Darrieus higher outside cirkle speed can be harvested. When the force of the wind gets stronger, you add more turbines, instead of brakes to slow it down. High winds produce much more electrical energie, never waste it with brakes, but use more turbines to harvest it. The vertical wind turbine can only use 1, but the Darrieus more, when you bild them smarter and place the concept in the southern oceans, where these high wind speeds are more often. Think in a donut way with no centre structure and you can make these wind turbines with a 1km circle radius or more. To reduce weight and friction you make them hoover. Now also when the Darrieus blades turn back into the wind, when rotating, you can add a option that it turns its blades to get much lower opposite force. Do not use steel, but carbonfiber structures to reduce much more weight and corosion risks and energie waste for producing steel. Use the same technic on vertical turbine blades to construced almost the whole turbine system in a donut shaped way. Now put the Donut inside a outside structure to keep it in place and in a maglev position... There you go...

    These efficiencies assume an unobstructed venue. Efficiencies should be measured in many conditions to reflect that different turbines are better in swirling conditions such as rooftops of skyscrapers.

    The description of TSR of horizontal is correct, but the descriptions of two types of VAWT are wrong.

  • @DANCEVIC90
    @DANCEVIC90 6 месяцев назад +1

    why are there some sources that say that for a 3 blade HAWT, the optimum TSR is 4.2? (4*pi/n), but some other literature says it's like 8

    What are the minimum wind speeds required to function for both types? And curious how they are different in stats on the minimum wind speeds.

    • @SmartServo_org
      @SmartServo_org  Год назад +1

      I think the minimum wind speed for HAWT and VAWT is not only related to aerodynamics, but the mechanism is also very important. such as friction and the cogging torque of the generator.

      @bialy100k Год назад

      For small (say up to 3kW turbines) you can expect below 30W from 1 square meter (of swept blades area) at 5 m/s not turbulent wind from HAVT and around 15W from Darrieus. For Savonius it goes to range below 10W.

    • @SmartServo_org
      @SmartServo_org  Год назад

      This is true, because Darrieus must use small solidity blades to have high efficiency, which makes it difficult to self-start. Therefore, small wind turbines usually trade off efficiency for startability.

  • @manoo422
    @manoo422 Год назад

    Efficiency is 100% down to were the turbine is placed, at sea with high wind speed a 3 blade HAWT will win. In your garden/yard a multi blade VAWT will easily be the best.

    • @SmartServo_org
      @SmartServo_org  Год назад +1

      Yes, HAWT is a picky eater, but (Darrieus) VAWT's efficiency conflicts with self-starting, which is why I did it => ruclips.net/video/9AdpggaOfF0/видео.html

    This is standing on a lie! The first questions should be what is your need! The model of a hybrid combo is not in this facts! A speed factor is not show in this facts! So it's not a question about efficiency it's a questions about your needs! If you need a 3 kWh a day. The Question is what is cheapest way to get it! 🥸
