Well the main desire of legendary pokemon is how absurdly hard it's supposed to be to find, sometimes being pure luck or knowing where they are, it feels more rewarding to go through the one where you need a guide, like you're a legendary explorer finding something nobody else in the world (aka your copy of the game) has. The temples in SwSh feel like places anyone can go to and get the legendaries.
As someone who got stuck when playing Fire Red because I couldn't find HM01 nor realize a new path opened after visiting Bill, I definitely don't miss those old puzzles.
I'd have liked it if they did the basic service of telling us what to do. There's a difference between fun puzzle solving sidequests and obnoxiously cryptic rubbish.

You actually can catch the fifth regi by creating a new Account on your switch and playing the game until that point and then using pokemon home to transfer pokemon between accounts. I used it to get the second Urshifu, Horse and Regi and it always worked
I want to do that for Glastrier, Rapid Strike Urshifu and whichever of the new two Regis I don't pick but I really don't wanna grind up to at least gym 8 all over again

I actually got stuck on registeel for a while. I thought the solution was to catch a bronzong or ring the bell on your bike. Completely forgot i could whistle.
I tried luring the bronzong up the steps with the bike bell, and I thought that was the correct answer when the door opened as the bronzong reached the top of the steps, but it was just me ringing the bell as it did, since the bell counts as whistling. Still didn't have to look it up though!
Yes... trade with a friend. That's... definitely what I did. I definitely didn't start an extra save file, go straight to the Crown Tundra, lose to Peony, march into the Dynamax adventure and gather a party of level 70 legendary pokemon before the first gym, then speedrun the game to get the other horse and regi. Definitely.
That's what I did too lmao, and I did it like the day the DLC dropped just so I could have all the Regis, since they are my favorite legendaries. Didn't care about the horse at all until like, 2 weeks after.
One thing I really like is that the music was extended, as cool as it is, the theme used to be rlly short for a battle theme, but now it has 2 different loops

I only played Emerald recently but the whole Regi quest was incredible. Seeing the weird 7 stone ruins all before finding the cave definitely sparked some imagination. Maybe playing more recently gave me the knowledge that Wailord is the biggest pokémon and I was lucky enough to have already caught a Relicanth but the whole thing is doable without a guide and its amazing.

You actually can get both Steeds and both new Titans in the same game. You just need to have 2 Switch profiles, and Pokemon HOME. Catch 1 Steed/Regi in the first Profile (I did Spectrier and Regieleki in my main file), then catch the other ones in the second profile (So Glastrier and Regidrago for me), and use Pokemon HOME to transfer them between files (which you can do by opening HOME on your main profile, then swapping profiles from within HOME).
I liked it, wish there was 1 more then you could have a full party of regis to fight Gigas, though I guess that's what Gigas is for. I'm just glad I didn't spend a lot of time shiny hunting Drago, it appeared relatively soon... Eleki will probably troll me and take like 10,000 resets though.

Took me a bit longer tho find the Regi quest trigger, even longer to figure it out. The map design in that gen was so good, unlike swsh who’s route layout is best described as a straight line with a squiggly line going through it

As indicated by my profile picture, Regigigas is my favorite Pokemon. I wish there was a gimmick where you could permanently get rid of his slow start. How so? Get the other reggis on your team, and "sacrifice" or "combine" them onto Regigigas. The only down side is that his speed will stay as slow as it is with "slow start" and unaffected by this combination. His attacks and defenses will be at max like they are at 5 turns, but his speed permanently as slow as it is during the slow start ability. Once you do combine, they disappear forever, they die. But, Regigigas loses his slow start and gets a new ability called Ready start- Attack and defense stats at max from the start! There will be a marker to indicate if your Regigigas contains the other reggis or not. However, this ultra powered Reggie won't be allowed in certain competitive groups. Also, a special item that is very rare will be needed to combine these reggis with Regigigas.

You can simply play through the game again on another profile on your switch, beat all the gyms so you can catch any level of pokemon (which the max lair makes laughably easy by allowing you to get level 65 legendary pokemon before the first gym), catch the three again (yes you do need to catch the other 3 on that save to open the split-decision ruins' door), bring them to the temple, catch the last regi, and send it to your first save via pokemon home!
I don't have anyone else around who also has these games, but I do have pokemon home and the patience to play the games multiple times on different profiles.
You don't really need to trade with a fried, just make a new account on your switch, play the game on the new account, and after completing the game and stuff, just deposit the regi and horse on the main account of home
Nah, it'll work. I trade with my siblings through the same home. You just pick what profile you want to use and all the boxes stay the same in home. We each have our own specific storage boxes and then free to grab ones. That's what I did with the regis, too. Already wanted to start over, so I went ahead and ran through for the opposite horse and regi.

I prefer the original. I remember being so proud of myself for figuring out the puzzles and discovering these Pokémon when I was a kid. My friends had no idea they existed until I showed them. The mere existence of the rock monuments was enough to make me curious. Also, the every time you went under water you were rewarded for it, with either an item or spot for your secret base. This made me want to explore the different current pathways. I am enjoying Pokémon scarlet but, I do miss some of the imagination they had in the previous games and wish they would carry that forward.
Y'all know that you can just create a second account on your switch and then go catch the other. Then you "trade" it via pokemon home by moving pokemon between accounts.
I just make a new account on my Switch, start a new save in Pokemon Sword and Shield, and then pick the other horse and Regi. Then I transfer them to my old save via Pokemon Home, and delete the new account. This is how you trade with yourself if you don't have Nintendo Online 😀
The puzzles were all pretty easy, but the registeel one definitely took me a minute. all the others have to do with the Pokemon in your party, so I spent a while trying to get noivern to open it. I forgot whistling was a thing, since it's basically useless. Yeah, forcing you to trade over the last refi is kinda dumb. I get they want you to trade with friends, but this isn't some trade evolution that you can get a bunch of, it's a brand new legendary pokemon you can only catch once.nobody wants to trade theirs. It really feels like they just want you to buy both games, which is kinda scummy.
I guarantee they want you to buy both games. Regis are once per game, Urshifu is once per game, your horse, even the Den Legendaries are once per game apparently? (One from each of the main set) It's absolutely fucking insane.

Get the other reggis on your team, and "sacrifice" or "combine" them onto Regigigas. The only down side is that his speed will stay as slow as it is with "slow start" and unaffected by this combination. His attacks and defenses will be at max like they are at 5 turns, but his speed permanently as slow as it is during the slow start ability. Once you do combine, they disappear forever, they die.
But, Regigigas loses his slow start and gets a new ability called Ready start- Attack and defense stats at max from the start! There will be a marker to indicate if your Regigigas contains the other reggis or not. However, this ultra powered Reggie won't be allowed in certain competitive groups.
Also, a special item that is very rare will be needed to combine these reggis with Regigigas.

I'm gonna go with Reg-ice because that's how the name is written. The anime pronounces it both ways, but they make mistakes all the time. I don't see a need to keep some sort of name uniformity when the difference is 1 letter.

You don't actually need a friend this time! You can simply play through the game again on another profile on your switch, beat all the gyms so you can catch any level of pokemon (which the max lair makes laughably easy by allowing you to get level 65 legendary pokemon before the first gym), catch the three again (yes you do need to catch the other 3 on that save to open the split-decision ruins' door), bring them to the temple, catch the last regi, and send it to your first save via pokemon home!
I don't have anyone else around who also has these games, but I do have pokemon home and the patience to play the games multiple times on different profiles.
i actually failed a crit capture on a latios in ultra sun, i caught it in the poke ball right after, but it was shocking to discover it can fail.

Nah, it'll work. I trade with my siblings through the same home. You just pick what profile you want to use and all the boxes stay the same in home. We each have our own specific storage boxes and then free to grab ones. That's what I did with the regis, too. Already wanted to start over, so I went ahead and ran through for the opposite horse and regi.

I prefer the original. I remember being so proud of myself for figuring out the puzzles and discovering these Pokémon when I was a kid. My friends had no idea they existed until I showed them.
The mere existence of the rock monuments was enough to make me curious. Also, the every time you went under water you were rewarded for it, with either an item or spot for your secret base. This made me want to explore the different current pathways.
I am enjoying Pokémon scarlet but, I do miss some of the imagination they had in the previous games and wish they would carry that forward.

I just make a new account on my Switch, start a new save in Pokemon Sword and Shield, and then pick the other horse and Regi.
Then I transfer them to my old save via Pokemon Home, and delete the new account.

The puzzles were all pretty easy, but the registeel one definitely took me a minute. all the others have to do with the Pokemon in your party, so I spent a while trying to get noivern to open it. I forgot whistling was a thing, since it's basically useless.
Yeah, forcing you to trade over the last refi is kinda dumb. I get they want you to trade with friends, but this isn't some trade evolution that you can get a bunch of, it's a brand new legendary pokemon you can only catch once.nobody wants to trade theirs. It really feels like they just want you to buy both games, which is kinda scummy.
I guarantee they want you to buy both games. Regis are once per game, Urshifu is once per game, your horse, even the Den Legendaries are once per game apparently? (One from each of the main set) It's absolutely fucking insane.
