His team and character design is pretty amazing too; not only does his look change a bit to match the type he uses (gray suit and tie for Normal Gym, blue suit and tie for Flying Elite Four), but his teams actually are thought to catch you off-guard and synergize. You see him at the E4 match and think "Oh, Normal guy, let's lead with Fighting!" only for him to give his quite odd speech about Geeta asking him to use a different type. What's the catch? *Flying-type*, one of Fighting's three weaknesses. He just got you to most likely lead with a member that counters his standard team only to counter it himself. His Staraptor is foreshadowing of this too, since it's on both of his teams and is the only Pokémon to be of a Gym Leader's specialty type to get terastallized.

Definitely but a very welcomed one at that considering steel is one of the best types defensively; she is very cute but the team composition is nothing to laugh but if can be defeated depending what kind of we have and saying that Greeta’s team weak in which is not entirely true, yes its not the strongest but same can be said for Rika being an Ground type specialist, I don’t think Greeta’s the problem but moreso the easiness of her, I agree its not the best composition but I will say its not bad either at least what I perceive considering its an very interesting one to say the least; I personally love all of the elite four members but aside from Larry, Poppy is definitely my personal favorite by far!!!! 🤤🥵😏
*What I meant to say that Poppy’s team composition is nothing to laugh at considering both Copperajah and Tinkaton are slow but very powerful offensively if unchecked, then you have Bronzong who is annoying defensive-wise; even Corviknight is no slouch either, they can be beaten but varies depending what you have to counter it; Regarding Dragon, the team composition is very interesting considering Baxcalibur is the new pseudo legendary with a very interesting signature move and while there are people who are very spilt on its design, I personally like it and the ability Thermal Exchange is very solid considering it prevents from being burned from a fire-type move in which its a big deal given its very reliant on the physical side!!! 🥴😻
@@ashelygordon669 Tinkaton is actually really fast. It *looks* like it should be slow, but nope, 96 speed. And yeah, Greta just gets throttled by a bug type
This elite four basically sees you fight the tomboy receptionist, a literal child, a very tired looking business man and your art teacher who has soul piercing eyes.
I was looking through the previous elite four battles on this channel and I gotta appreciate the visual upgrades! There’s a whole bunch of character in the latest games’ animations that are far more than the previous games, and that’s just so impressive- The way that the motion of pokemon being sent into battle for instance, was conveyed through camera shots in the 2d games, far before cutscenes were a thing And now we have full one ones- You can see it in the way that they start the battle with a roar, and in the terastalization animations with the trainers somewhat flinching from the sheer power of it I just adore those so much, they’re lil details that you wouldn’t note always, but give a lot of character
I love how it's "...of the Elite Four" instead of "Elite Four..." like it was in previous games. "...of the Elite Four" is much more cooler sounding and a more grammatically correct too
i know people are upset about how bland the E4 room is, but i really like how rika, poppy, and larry stay and watch you battle after you beat them. it made for a funny conversation when larry tried to call hassel in. this whole league in terms of character and chemistry felt so different in the best way.
Honestly I think the bland room makes sense. Imagine having to spend so much decking out a room to fit the Trainers Theme and then a week later they decide to retire. Now you have to whip up a new budget for a New Elite 4 Member and their specialized room.
Larry is your everyday salaryman, and a normal type gym leader too, he even gave us the TM Facade after the battle, probably needed that to be a working member of the society lmao.
This is Larry, he's a businessman. He also works part time as a Normal type gym leader. He likes to eat onigiri, and he's a pretty nice guy. He's also part of the elite four in the paldea region. He is ready, and he will not step down to a challenger. Be like Larry.
Reminds me of Jasmine. I’d love to see Poppy with a full team of 6. Just imagine her with a Lucario, Scizor, Kingambit, or Revavroom in that final slot and/or replacing that Copperajah. She could easily take down the champion’s deadweight team.
There was also the strange move picks, poor switches, and honestly just every time baxcallibur was used at all was questionable Ex: switching after a torch song/moxie/aqua step boost, Crunching pokemon weak to ice moves using not very effective moves switching off pokemon with super effective attacks switching into a pokemon with a type weakness(baxcallibur into tera rock glimmora) not having stab moves on the fire types (fire for talonflame, ghost for skeledirge) there's probably more, but those fights were so painful to watch that im not gonna bother
Me when I knew Larry was Elite 4 : Oh finally a Normal-Type Elite Four ! So happy ! Gamefreak : So we'll pull a bullshit on that instead of having a new character to be the Flying type E4. But I like this in a way, because Larry's design is extremely basic and he's doing double duty as a salaryman and trainer... And what's more common than Normal AND Flying types ?
True but I can honestly understand why people are finding Geeta’s team underwhelming because I think they were expecting more challenging Pokémon but both Gogoat and Avalugg are not particularly challenging in which its not entirely true considering while I agree its not the best team representing an champion, I will say its not bad either given it depends on what kind of team we have to counter it, the easiness of her team is the problem aside from half of her respective team composition being weak to fire but I really love her team in terms how unique and quirky it is!!! 🤔🤭
So no one is going to point out how Larry's suit changes from a grayish (Normal) hue to a bluish hue (Flying) and dons gloves? Also, love that he keeps his Gym team ace in his E4 team since the dual-typing of Staraptor make it optimal for both of his specialties. His teams actually are thought to catch you off-guard and synergize. You see him at the E4 match and think "Oh, Normal guy, let's lead with Fighting!" only for him to give his quite odd speech about Geeta asking him to use a different type. What's the catch? *Flying-type*, one of Fighting's three weaknesses. He just bamboozled you to lead with a counter only to counter it himself because of "La Primera's orders". It's genius tbh.
No more drifting in air, Tropius is on the ground once again! I saw a lot of bird pokemon on the ground in this game so I expected it but I had to see it with my own eyes 😅
Kinda disappointed we don’t have new type representatives for the Elite Four like Fairy or Normal (like seriously why did they have to change Larry’s type a Normal E4 is just FINE) At least the reps here are pretty uncommonly used aside from... dragon for the millionth time.
True that. Also, there are currently only 4 types that were never used by any Elite Four: normal, grass, electric, and fairy. We should have an Elite Four with some of these types instead of dragon once more :/
@@luizbezerra4373 Because SV already has Electric, Grass, and Normal gym leaders, and a Fairy Team Star branch. The Grass and Electric leaders are literally two of the three leaders they revealed before launch.

Ok I'll admit the whole execution as to how fight the Elite 4 this time around, is something I'm not a fan of, defnetly prefer the going to a different room setting and they types groups, not all that impressive, BUT, I say given how these 4 have so much characterization AND have legit genuine interaction with each other, balances those major cons. So yeah I'm perfectly ok with this Elite 4, hell after, sword and shield I'm relieved we can still fight an Elite 4 at all.
Ok. Is anyone gonna question the fact that Poppy, a literal child. Is apart of the Elite Four? Like, seriously, this is probably one of the most unexpected twists in all of Pokémon!
I'd mention Alola, but that was like a sort of informal gym leader sort of thing while this literal preschooler is literally on the records as being one of the most strongest trainers in her region the hell is Spain feeding those kids
Gamefreak pretty much showed how much they improved over the years because of this game. I also loved how each pokemon get their own battle stances, and we can't forget how we get to see Tropius on the ground than stuck in a hovering animation. This game really feels like we're in the anime series and we're the new protagonist. (Move over Ash lol)

*What I meant to say that Poppy’s team composition is nothing to laugh at considering both Copperajah and Tinkaton are slow but very powerful offensively if unchecked, then you have Bronzong who is annoying defensive-wise; even Corviknight is no slouch either, they can be beaten but varies depending what you have to counter it;
Regarding Dragon, the team composition is very interesting considering Baxcalibur is the new pseudo legendary with a very interesting signature move and while there are people who are very spilt on its design, I personally like it and the ability Thermal Exchange is very solid considering it prevents from being burned from a fire-type move in which its a big deal given its very reliant on the physical side!!! 🥴😻
The key necklace gave it away for me
@@ashelygordon669 Tinkaton is actually really fast. It *looks* like it should be slow, but nope, 96 speed. And yeah, Greta just gets throttled by a bug type
This elite four basically sees you fight the tomboy receptionist, a literal child, a very tired looking business man and your art teacher who has soul piercing eyes.
Thank you. You gave us a chance to see their pokemon attack as opposed to just clean sweeping them.
Yeah, I think Mixeli has a nasty habit of sweeping.
The dragon type e4 saying : No poin in letting this DRAG ON, was hilarious
ba-dum tss
Larry, the exceptional everyman, normal type gym leader, elite four member, will get his pay docked if he talks too much
This guy really is normal
I was looking through the previous elite four battles on this channel and I gotta appreciate the visual upgrades!
There’s a whole bunch of character in the latest games’ animations that are far more than the previous games, and that’s just so impressive-
The way that the motion of pokemon being sent into battle for instance, was conveyed through camera shots in the 2d games, far before cutscenes were a thing
And now we have full one ones- You can see it in the way that they start the battle with a roar, and in the terastalization animations with the trainers somewhat flinching from the sheer power of it
I just adore those so much, they’re lil details that you wouldn’t note always, but give a lot of character
I love how it's "...of the Elite Four" instead of "Elite Four..." like it was in previous games.
"...of the Elite Four" is much more cooler sounding and a more grammatically correct too
It's because "Elite Four" is their trainer type, it's like Youngster Joey or Swimmer james and etc.
Rumor says Larry is also a champion, guess 3 jobs helps paying the rent!
i know people are upset about how bland the E4 room is, but i really like how rika, poppy, and larry stay and watch you battle after you beat them. it made for a funny conversation when larry tried to call hassel in. this whole league in terms of character and chemistry felt so different in the best way.
Honestly it would've been absolutely brilliant if Larry turned out to secretly be the champion instead
And who said he isn't?
He might already be Champion-rank Trainer, like Nemona.
Wish they could have a specific battle chambers like the elite four of kalos.......
Gamefreak didn't have enough time
@@shatteredsentient5321 poor excuse tbh
@@Radio-97 either way it doesn’t matter,
But then we wouldn't have Larry trying and failing to raise his voice to call out the next one and who would want that?
Yep
I think they unfortunately removed the rematch function, so you can just battle the League once per story run. But this is according to my knowledge.
Yup
It’s a shame, because I used to love battling the elite four several times to grind for exp
Hopefully the elite 4 rematch comes as an free update or maybe part of the dlc expansion pass
This elite four theme is straight fire 🔥
Ikr
Mine bugged out and only played the first 10 seconds of the theme on loop 😒
@@utuber34500 emulator?
@@gifdojosuke7483 No, on the Switch. It didn't have the 'Vs" tag activate during the battle so the music didn't change.

Oh damn the elite four music is giving me black and white vibes. I love it
Same
I’m guessing you heard the champion music then? Straight up took a motif from BW e4. Pretty cool 😎
The Saint Seiya nicknames caught me of guard LMAO. Ikki and Shun are just perfect 🤣
34:29 grandpa hessel , really cute!!! Love how te elite members interact as a family somehow
Weirdest Elite 4 combination yet,
I've been thinking Ground, Steel, Flying... I wonder what the last type, of course it's freaking dragon.
Dragon makes sense because it resists the starter's type
it's the same as the titans
I really thought Poppy was going to be fairy not steel mind blown
One of Team Star's captains specializes in Fairy
Reminds me of Jasmine.
I’d love to see Poppy with a full team of 6.
Just imagine her with a Lucario, Scizor, Kingambit, or Revavroom in that final slot and/or replacing that Copperajah.
She could easily take down the champion’s deadweight team.
More like Dark or Ghost type due to her look as an scary doll ( no offense )
Ortega (team star fairy boss) is also kid and has fairy types, which makes sense
i thought she was gonna be ice type cuz of the colors idek
They got my man Larry working overtime. Someone get him an 800 year old kitsune to fluff
I’ve heard of kids being gym leaders but an elite four member? That’s next level crazy shit right there
Acerola, in both SM and USUM, were in Alola’s Elite Four. Depending on his age, Bede is part of an Elite 4-like setup in Galar.
@@iantaakalla8180 Yeah but Poppy is WAY younger than Acerola and that’s what makes it even crazier
She is basically like 6-8 years old which is bizzare for her role
@@Matthew-0619 she looks 6 to you?
like look at how small she is, this kid's still in pull-ups lol
@@elipticalecliptic481 Could be lower but 6-8 seems reasonable
Geeta really hyped us up just to be easier to beat than diantha
Lol, She's way more of a challenge than Diantha - I saw her getting swept by everyone's playthrough.
@@netweed09 i one shotted all of her pokemon and wasn't even overlevelled lmao. her team is trash ppl are just dog at this game
Agree, she has a GOGOAT, also her LAST pokemon sets toxic spikes, really useful
She has avalugg, a Pokémon that Is dogshit on everything but 1v1, a Pokémon WORSE than múltiple NFES
At least she acts like an old school champion with different types like Blue and ourselves ( Gen 7 )
Crazy how you made these battles way harder than they needed to be by switching out pokemon every second.
he does it in all of his videos to artifically extend the length. fuck mixeli
Honestly, his Quaquval would of swept with that moxie boost
There was also the strange move picks, poor switches, and honestly just every time baxcallibur was used at all was questionable
Ex: switching after a torch song/moxie/aqua step boost,
Crunching pokemon weak to ice moves
using not very effective moves
switching off pokemon with super effective attacks
switching into a pokemon with a type weakness(baxcallibur into tera rock glimmora)
not having stab moves on the fire types (fire for talonflame, ghost for skeledirge)
there's probably more, but those fights were so painful to watch that im not gonna bother
He's overleveled anyways, that alone make these fights way more boring
@@victorgofron8039 fair
Love the OST, it fits so well the Elite four
nice pfp!
Sounds to me like the Sinnoh Elite Four.
Sounds futuristic
@@sephy004i knew I wasn’t the only one who noticed common points with sinnoh gym leader theme
This one is better though, insane track
Ground, Steel, Flying, and Dragon are they're type specialty's
The battle music sounds very similar to Gym/Elite Sinnoh Battle theme. Good chills!! (2:06)
Wait, so Larry is a Gym Leader and Elite member? Dang
Even changed Type speciality. Normal Type Gym, Flying Type Elite Four
Well Koga was the 1st gym leader to become an Elite Four from Gen 1 to 2 so not surprised 😅
Man, this gen pokemons aren't the best but the characters make it so much worth it
I really love the soundtrack for the battles
The games in general have good soundtrack tbh
Gym Leader Larry: **Exists**
Player: Dear God...
Elite Four Larry: *_There's More_*
Player: _No..._
Geeta looks a magnificent words and the battle still gives a chill
Cool thing I've noticed about this elite four plus the champion is that the types they specialize in match with all the Titan pokemon's types.
Larry sounds like something out of the show called the office.
Watching him pick Pokémon moves that weren’t very effective against the opponent gave me pain
No more drifting in air, Tropius is on the ground once again! I saw a lot of bird pokemon on the ground in this game so I expected it but I had to see it with my own eyes 😅
Kinda disappointed we don’t have new type representatives for the Elite Four like Fairy or Normal (like seriously why did they have to change Larry’s type a Normal E4 is just FINE)
At least the reps here are pretty uncommonly used aside from... dragon for the millionth time.
I too was hoping for new types for the Elite 4 especially since there's only four of them left.
True that. Also, there are currently only 4 types that were never used by any Elite Four: normal, grass, electric, and fairy. We should have an Elite Four with some of these types instead of dragon once more :/
@@pastelpunkdemon Correct.
@@luizbezerra4373 Because SV already has Electric, Grass, and Normal gym leaders, and a Fairy Team Star branch.

Phineas and Ferb reference time!
Me: Aren't you a little young to be a member of the Elite Four of Paldea?
Poppy: Yes. Yes, I am.
Me: Okay.
Lmao fr tho 😭
Ok I'll admit the whole execution as to how fight the Elite 4 this time around, is something I'm not a fan of, defnetly prefer the going to a different room setting and they types groups, not all that impressive, BUT, I say given how these 4 have so much characterization AND have legit genuine interaction with each other, balances those major cons. So yeah I'm perfectly ok with this Elite 4, hell after, sword and shield I'm relieved we can still fight an Elite 4 at all.
That Champion theme slaps so hard
Ok. Is anyone gonna question the fact that Poppy, a literal child. Is apart of the Elite Four? Like, seriously, this is probably one of the most unexpected twists in all of Pokémon!
I'd mention Alola, but that was like a sort of informal gym leader sort of thing
while this literal preschooler is literally on the records as being one of the most strongest trainers in her region
the hell is Spain feeding those kids
Athena, Ikki, Seika, Shun... I see you know Saint Seiya. A man of culture, I see.
Who brought a child to the Elite Four?!
"Who is this sassy lost child?"
Gamefreak lol
@@rugino3614 fr from this vid her steel types HIT HARD AF like whos training this child to be this strong?!
Geeta herself, apparently.
I LOVE the fact that you named your Skeledirge "Agumon" when you got it as a Fuecoco. I named mine "Koopa" though lol
Pokemon: You need to be 10 years old to get a Pokémon trainer.
Poppy: Hold my Pokémon-
The 10 years old rule to be a Pokémon trainer is only in the Anime, the games don't had such rule.
Losing to Poppy, a literal toddler, will be the biggest L you could ever get in a Pokemon game.
Aside from Copperajah, her team is pretty stacked tbh.
No shame in losing to a steel type trainer.
I literally got kicked out by Hassel's Baxcalibur. Every time I hear its cry I'll get flashbacks.
I mean she IS a child prodigy. Losing to a regular child trainer on the other hand...
Larry about to suffer burnout, poor man
Also FINALLY TROPIUS GETS SOME LOVE
Larry should get a raise. And a vacation
These move selections & swap outs are… interesting choices lol
Just a thought here, maybe when Ash heads to Paldea, Gheeta will recognize his champion status and he'll be put into the Pokemon School as a teacher?
Ash trying to put into words how he comes up with his strategies and trying to teach others in gerenal would be such a fun thing to see
Would love to see a timeskip and Ash being teacher during the Paldea anime series
Ash doesn't strike me as a teaching type.
Ash won’t be in the next anime. Sad news.😢
Elite 4 members looks like Fantastic Beast characters and i love it
Poppy is my favorite for sure. So adorable and Tinkaton is an absolute great fit for her.
Yes, it's really well directed despite the technical flaws.
But there's just so much potential in all aspects of Scarlet/Violet. The ending was so fast and emotional too. Many loose ends and unanswered Questions!
@@netweed09 However, we got a well detailed game that lets us meet old and new pokemon. Which is nice that it feels like newer adventures are just beginning through the generations.

*THAT DOESN'T SPAM FULL RESTORES!!*
In fact from what I've seen no trainers use potions
Finally, Galar never had Elite 4, so glad they brought that back
And the champion, is kinda meh, Leon from the previous generation was honestly better
you can enter the pokemon league again in pokemon scarlet after the story?
Larry is every gen 1 Pokemon player who grew up
Everyone is talking about Larry, but can we take a minute to acknowledge the fact that Geeta says that when Nemona finally fought her to bevome a champion, she wasn't even fighting at her best? Thay's actually crazy lmao
Larry already had my respect for using a Staraptor, but when I saw hime walk through that door, just BEST CHARACTER.
Geeta looks like an empress
The fire Starter is really op man.
I don't know why but I love seeing Severus Snape as an elite 4 👍🏼
Hassel clearly has different personality and look than Snape... But the old man's really looking like he came straight out of Hogwart
Pfft, I also though about Snape the fist time I saw Hassel, telling myself "they have the same smile, huhuh", but well, he is the proof that appearances can hide another personality.
