That's why I bought my G310GS - secondary roads, rural roads, gravel roads and dirt roads, with a little bit of mild off road and highways. My goal is solo ultralight ADV motorcycle camping. I carry about half of what you carry. You have some very nice mods on that baby GS. Thanks for sharing this great adventure video.

My third bike but one with a good mix of on-road and off-road capability. Other bikes are purely road bikes. Getting some x-spoked wheels and webber suspensions fitted. Cheers 🍻

I wish BMW offered a G310GS Adventure version with a 5 gallon fuel tank, tubeless spoke wheels, an aluminum bash plate, engine protection bars, larger and more aggressive pegs, and fully adjustable suspension front and rear. Those upgrades would cost BMW less than $400 and I'd pay $2000 more for that bike.
Bike manufacturers, not just BMW, look at their small ADV bikes as beginner bikes. They use them to get new customers on the upgrade path to their mid size and full size ADV bikes. Older riders typically have more discretionary income and are buying smaller bikes because they have trouble handling and lifting larger bikes, but I'd argue that a small ADV bike like the G310GS is better off road for all riders. Unfortunately, the marketing department doesn't want to admit this, so they won't sell full featured lightweight ADV bikes because most people wouldn't buy their more expensive larger bikes. That's why smaller ADV bikes are built to a budget and are stripped of premium features. The companies would rather sell someone their first bike, that leads to their second and third. They aren't interested in selling old riders their last bike, so they miss the opportunity to make an R1300GS Adventure profit margin on a G310GS Adventure.

There's a trick for great audio, with a go pro, get an older pair of Wired ear buds with a mic. Then cut the wire above the mic, and attach it to the inside of helmet! No need for the large go pro attachment and no need for a zoom etc... check it out, do a video ..love it Larry.

Nice! I just got my 310GS two ago and I can't wait to do some mine adventure riding also. I'm curious about your saddle bags/panniers. Did you install a side bag rack or are they just hanging?

Over 8,000 miles and loving it still. A little tough on the highway but that’s avoidable. No issues so far.

i considering to buy the honda adv 350 but i just found that bike and it seems very interesting alt choice.also is cheaper here 1000 euros than honda.my only complain is the strokes.iam not big fun of manual strokes at bikes ;(

What screen did you add ? How do you like the gearing for going slow ? If you were going to be going slow on some hills in the dirt like single tracks would you get a bigger sprocket in the back ?
I had the garmin zumo xt gps. And my phone mounted up front. I thought the gearing was fine but I think going down a tooth up front would be beneficial. I did a lot of steep rocky passes with the stock sprocket and it was great.

Hi, at what hwy speeds does the GS like to cruise at before mechanical sympathy takes over....
I would say 65 mph. But you can change out the sprocket to get a little more

How is the bike ? Do you ever feel underpowered? Also what is your height? And does it feel small
I’m 5,9. The bike feels good at that height. Underpowered on the highway but everywhere else it’s tons of fun.

No cat on the single cylinder.
hows it hold up to extended highway travel? you try to stay closer to 65mph? I have the same bike and plan to do some longer trips this summer rather than day trips
It’s tough on the neck and ears but the bike does ok. 65-70mph but she’s screaming. Lol. Not a great highway bike. Really fun on the backroads tho.

I replaced the front sprocket for a 17t sprocket it feels better on the highway

Denali D2. I’m very happy with them. I have the bigger version on my 850 as well.
What brand foot pegs do ya have installed?

Does come with 🔌to charge the GPS or phone the ktm 390 adventure does......
No plugs come stock, But super easy to add what you need. I find plugs to be a hassle. GPS and wireless phone charger are both hard wired.

i dont understand why do people call this motorbike underpowered? at 18:52 you are going with 74-77 mph( 120 km/h ), how much faster do you want to be from that? I have seen some indian guys doing 150 km/h on this motorbike, again how much faster do you want to be from that? In my country even in highways it is not allowed to go more than 120 km/h ! This is very underrated motorbike.
Power and top speed are two different things. Although I agree with you on that. I love my 310.
@@ADVLARRY I also want to ask you 1 thing because I heard that on 310 you are slightly leaned forward and for long ride this might be uncomforatable if that is true can you fix it with handlebar risers?

Not so. A matter of choice. I had a Versys then picked up a '21 G310GS. Both great bikes in my opinion but just a matter of personal choice. Been riding 52 years.
