Nice bike! I hate when people try and compare massive bikes to smaller bikes. They’re two different animals. Someone’s size has a lot to do with choosing bikes too. I myself am 6’5” and 270 pounds so I have to have a larger bike. But we’re looking for my wife that wants to ride and has never ridden before. We’re thinking about this one for her.
@@rogercook4224 it’s a great bike for smaller people. I also ride a 850gs but it’s definitely harder to ride through difficult sections. Good luck.

Is it a good begginer bike for a tall dude? I’m 6’2 and was wondering if sportbike is way too short for me or something like that. Plus I want my bike to be more versatile so any recommendations for a begginer?
@@paralize7512 great beginner bike. Especially if you want to get into some dirt riding. It’s a pretty tall bike so you’ll be comfortable riding it for sure.
This is spot on what I want to do. Why the gs 310 over a KTM duke 390? How much weight did you add with the luggage? Any performance increases? Did you feel it was under powered on the highway? So many questions.
@@southhillfarm2795 I didn’t really compare the 2 when I got it. I just always knew bmw was the better bike so I went with it. I’m not really sure how much my luggage adds. Maybe around 60 pounds fully loaded. I did add the exhaust and intake filter. Nothing really noticeable. This isn’t really a highway bike. But I have done plenty of it. 65-70mph is ok but the bike is pretty high in the Rpm’s. You can always switch the sprocket if that’s something you want to do. Thanks for watching. Hey Larry, did you take out the baffle out of your exhaust?
@@lLooN3y that’s is the stock exhaust with no modifications. Previous to this video I was always running the akro with the silencer

Hi Larry I’m new to adventure riding and motorcycling. I am also from CT and ride a 310. Just wanted your thoughts on the MSR Explorer gear, particularly how it does in the hot humid weather?
Hey. Thanks for watching. I wouldn’t call this suit a hot weather pick but honestly it was pretty hot on this trip and it wasn’t bad at all. Especially for a waterproof unit. I will say the Msr is by far the best gear you can buy for the money. I love mine.
If only it had a bigger gas tank i would have one tomorrow .

@@ADVLARRY hi. I like to be able to do approx 200 miles before I look for gas that's why I'm waiting on release of 2025 KTM 399 adv and the triumph 400 adv.

Are you running the stock front and rear suspension still? You seem to be bouncing around a lot, but I note you had added a lot of upgrades to your G310GS, did you not do the suspension yet?
@@anthonya7066 still on the stock suspension. I will we doing a video on the upgrade later this year.

Thanks for your detailed review and explanation..better video ive seen for accessories on that bike. Definitely will be getting the SRC headlight guard. Nice garage setup too!

After buying all of this stuff, how much cheaper is it than a 750 or 800 with a lot these parts from the factory?
@@Owjdnskoakansbskk I’m not sure what you mean. My 850 didn’t come with any of those parts I added. You can get a used 310 with upgrades for 5k. I’m not sure about the 800 but my 850 was 15k.

Citrus peel takes at least 6 months to decompose and in dry environments lasts indefinitely

Are you able to adjust the DoubleTake Mirrors in such a way to avoid hitting the Puig Windscreen? I'm using the default BMW mirrors with the Puig windscreen and they hit the windscreen dramatically when the bike is parked. Thanks, Mate!
No, they still hit, but even with the mirrors completely off my hand guards hit the windscreen as well. I have dropped the bike a few times where the handlebars go full lock basically bending the windscreen nothing has broken yet so it’s pretty durable.

How did you like the Moto tires versus the Bridgestone's? You mention in a later video (Rally video) that you love them. Which model tires are those, please?
Both were pretty close in performance on roads and dirt. But the motoz are definitely holding up better. They are the tractionator adventure.

It's been thirty years since I rode my CBR600 F2 and it's time to get back in the saddle. "This" is the video and aspect of riding that I want to do. Going back and fourth on the Appalachian Trail since I am located in Williamsburg would be a great adventure. Thanks for sharing! Crikey buddy,so glad the 850 didn't land on you dude! 😮👍 How are you liking your F850GS & how often are you having to adjust the drive chain? 🙂 I traded in my Honda CB500F & my G310GS (Same Rallye colours are yours infact)recently for a very similar to yours 2018 F850GS with 10,000 miles on it & so far I'm loving it...Although I'm a total copycat it seems & that's me not even mentioning my latest Rev It glove purchase!!! 🤣😎✌️ Hope you're feeling a little less tender after the off,but having heard your a skater you'll have had many of those before & with no gear on I bet,just like before I hung up my deck & retired from that more dangerous hobby! 😉👍
Yeah, me too. That could’ve been way worse I’m enjoying 850. It’s a lot more comfortable on the longer trips. Definitely not as fun as a 310 in the woods, but still a monster. It really depends on how much I’m riding. I’d say every 500 miles. I’m giving it a little adjustment. I’ll let it go a bit longer and notice it’s pretty loose. Thanks for watching!!
@ADVLARRY I only got rid of my last 2 bikes because I'm going to the ABR Festival at the end of June & I know I'd have possibly hated my baby GS after around 12 hours there & back on 99% motorways & covering 300 miles each way! 🤣👍 I still think I might buy another baby GS in the future,they're such amazing & more than capable than folk think & best of all hilariously great fun! 👍😎

Hi @ADV Larry, big fan of your g310 gs (got myself one as well). On the 2 inch bar risers: did you had any issues with the length of the cables to the controls ? limiting handlebars movement ?
The cables were good. But my grip guards do touch the windscreen just at full lock. Hasn’t bothered me.
