This week, we're finally righting the wrong perpetrated upon the city of brotherly love: cheesesteaks from Creed, which was universally described as "not a cheesesteak". Nursing a hangover and cooking for a crowd of over 5 adults and 1 newborn, can I manage to churn out something passable in The Athens of America?
Directed & Edited by the immensely talented Brad Cash (including original music and lyrics).
Produced by the incomparable Kendall Beach and the irreplaceable, irresistible Jessica Opon. Produced by Sawyer and James Jacobs.

I'm so happy that someone on the babish team knows about the amazing creation that is "too many cooks." For years I thought it was just a fever dream that it was even real.
Yeah I was surprised that too many cooks was in the intro
Yeah, it took me a second to place, but once I caught on, I was suprprised and delighted.
As someone who used to work in a NY deli, seeing Babish reach his hand into the blade make me so mad. ALSO I recommend having a small piece of parchment paper down where the meat falls just to make cleanup way easier
I also once worked at deli in NY...out on Long Island. Like Babish, I was too young to use the slicer but they let me do it anyway. I loved using it and making sandwiches. One day, I opened a brand new thing of Boar’s Head roast beef and started slicing for one of the signature sandwiches...until I sliced the tip of my thumb off. My boss was so mad that he had to throw out the brand new roast beef and shut down the station to clean and sanitize it lol
@Jon Cowell First, you take when I said "into the slicer" way too literally. Secondly you are absolutely right, a person who has worked on deli slicers for multiple years would be perfectly fine. But one thing that I was always taught and I strictly adhere to is to not stick my hand near the blade like that, I always have it hover near where the meat falls to so i can neatly arrange it for bagging. I understand that when you're trying to make borderline paper thin sheets of roast beef stuff is gonna get stuck up in there, but i'd rather have a couple catch and prevent other pieces from sticking in the same spot than grab each one almost every time.
It made me sooo uncomfortable!
Lets be honest. The longer you work with those machines the less carefull you are. As long as the blades are off when you try to pick things out
What I would do is unplug the machine and then touch the blade when needed to
When he said "nothing sucks quite as badly as getting fired, and having to ride your bike home." I felt that, literally lost my job last week and had to ride my bike home lol, thanks for the vids Babish, you make things a lil' easier round here :D

i love how babish’s videos are getting higher in production quality but increasingly chaotic still
I once saw a video about deli sandwiches. I learned that you have to wrap these things. Not only does it keep everything together but it sort of smooshes everything, compacts it together! There's no need to remove excess bread that takes up space. When you wrap this it's going to squeeze it all up into once nice package.
As much as I love watching Binging, Botched really is top tier.
On that I can agree 🏆
I found Brad's narration highly compelling. It kept me on the edge of my seat, urgently waiting to find out what happened next

I used to work in at a deli counter, and slicing meat and cheese was so satisfying. I loved when customers were like 'as thin as you can get it'. It felt like an accomplishment when you could slice a piece of cheese so thin it was almost transparent.
I can't emphasise enough how much I enjoyed this style of production. It felt like a mix of the office, the favourite and regular babish. Really brought out your charisma. Hope to see more of this style!

You know, andrew is sometimes so weird that it becomes relatable because everybody is so weird when unobserved.
Most steak shops do the steak in a large pile with the onions separate on the side, gets them more caramelized and soft.
I used to frequent George’s in the Italian market Philadelphia, and recall onions cooked on the side then chopped in (with hot peppers for me), before cheese on top of the pile (Swiss was my preferred), then the bread until the cheese melted the bread to the meat. Then spatula goes under the entire thing and lifts off and flip over to wrap up/serve. That way the cheese lines all the bread and acts as a barrier to meat juices.
@@ThatGuyRandy I live just outside the city and didn't even know you could get wiz on a cheesesteak. It's not even an option in a lot of places. I don't get why everyone thinks that's the norm.
Or why people have so much trouble with this very simple sandwich. Thankfully, they always put "Philly" before it, so I know what I'm getting.
@@adde9506 I don't know where you're ordering from, but if they don't have Wiz as on option then you need to go somewhere else. There are 3 types of cheese that are standard for a cheesesteak: wiz, American, and provolone.
i love getting the behind the scenes dynamic, its charming and refreshingly funny!
The place I used to get my philly cheesesteaks from would chop onions and mushrooms while they are cooking on the flat top, then mix them into a pile with the chopped steak. When it was close to done cooking, they would do what Andrew did and lay some slices of white American cheese on top as well as the bun, let it steam-melt the cheese, and then scoop it up and fold the bread around it. I usually ordered mine with a bit of mayo and it was heaven.
