"It's a relief to know that people were just militant about this thing that doesn't exist" On this day Babish described so many fans of so many fandoms
yeah, you're not wrong XD
You mean like people being incensed by a RUclips chef who doesn't actually have the name his channel is branded as?
Harry Potter fans generally tend to get really rowdy about these things, like not let's have a formal discussion about this, just a lot of screeching

Watching you cut your way out of a Barney costume, shirtless, during a Harry Potter episode was not the way I expected gaining the knowledge that we have matching moon tattoos but I guess this is fine.

VERY dangerous ground. He's a Sassenach!
Treading? He's sprinting.
Hes treading on incredibly based ground
Nah, he's just future proofing his statements.
As an American of both British and Scottish ancestry, I feel a very strong urge to comment angrily, but have no skin in this game. I'll just sit back and watch the fallout from this, laughing all the way.
"Oh no did I melt my belly?" got real weird real fast, looked like Barney was stroking himself 😂😂😂
Exactly! I was so uncomfy 😣
If discomfort wasn't Andrew's intention in that moment, then I don't know what was. 😂
If you don't remember or know why Barney fell from grace, he was actually being in character with that.

@@hilotakenaka She was saying that the cart was specifically called out as the sweets cart. Whether that's accurate to the book or not, i can't recall.
@@HollowRoll I don't remember either, but I do remember that Harry bought a bit of everything from the cart and (afaik) there were only sweets there. But in general, I don't think there were many savoury snacks mentioned in the HP books at all. I only remember sweet things
I agree with Kenda-er Mermaidman there, the pasties were on a sweets cart so clearly they were an exception to the only savoury rule and were a hand pumpkin pie
Yep. When I was reading the book I always imagined them to be sweet
And given the rest of the insanity on that cart, I’m betting it was meant to be a sweet version of a traditionally savory thing.
We don’t have pumpkin pie in the uk and pasties are savoury 😂
@@4eva123 but perhaps J.K Rowling is familiar with pumpkin pie and that's what this was inspired by, just because she's British doesn't mean she's limited to writing about what is in Britain
Clearly you've never been on a British Train, or spoken to a Trolley Lady. xD Pumpkin Pasties are definitely savoury xD and "Sweet Trolley" is kind of a Pirate thing.... it's more a guideline than an actual rule.
Can we--
Can we just take a minute to appreciate that Andrew's mic was clipped into his chest hair during the Barney segment??
Botched is by far my favourite series in the BCU. No fussing over production quality, making it look fancy professional, just everybody in their own element and fooling around and having fun. It's always a joy watching everybody have a blast. And credit where it's due, Brad does an amazing job capturing everything the way he does.
Binging is about the food
Botched is about the crew
Pure. Unhinged. Chaos.
And I’m here for it.
I also like how relaxed they are. It's fun to see them having fun!
@@flingage Well said🥂
Why did he change his channel name
Botched by Babish is always crazy, but this was chaotic beyond expectation.
To much time with Josh from Mythical I suspect.
I was not prepared for this level of chaos 😂😂😂
I love all the chaos 😂
Funny episode. Here's an unsolicited, non-chef tip, use Kabocha squash in place of pumpkin. It actually has a more intense pumpkin flavor than an actual pumpkin. I think this was a recommendation from one of your Bon Appetit friends a couple years ago and I've been using Kabocha in all my pumpkin recipes ever since.
Including pumpkin pie?
@@amandasunshine2 Yes! I use it in place of pumpkin.
@@melmerc40 I need to try this

Or is a pumpkin a type of Kabocha Squash?
This is so crazy to think of another thing being better at tasting like pumpkin. It’s making me spiral lol
This is, by far, the most unhinged episode yet. And it had a lot of competition.
And to think he started this channel not showing his face. Now he’s cutting himself out of inflatable Barney costumes with a knife while shirtless.
?
Confidence is a helluva drug

Having only watched a minute of the video this is a horrifying and exciting promise

I can’t believe Babish was the one to confirm Scottish Independence

If the Scottish were independent they would still be British just not part of the uk
Watching Andrew rub his dino stomach saying "Did I melt my belly?" is hands down the creepiest thing I've seen in a while. And I love it.

This episode is way too well researched for both of those statements to be anything but jokes.
I feel like this is how Babish always acts. The voice over just fools us.
1000% correct
Babish cutting himself out of a Barney costume and continuing as if nothing at all had happened is a mood
I never tthought I’d see a Babish bursting from an eviscerated Barney to calmly do a cross section on a pumpkin pastey
I never thought I’d see Harry Potter get fed pasties from a psycho who killed Barney and wore his skin as a trophy.
Or did Barney go postal and eat an innocent pastry chef only for the chef to cut his way out.
You lack imagination.
I kept thinking this shoot took place over a couple of days, but I realized that a) no one else's costumes changed, and b) pasties don't take that long to make. This leads me to the conclusion that Babish had several costumes prepared for this episode, none of which were shown to any of the crew beforehand, and all of which were hilarious.

I love that this series just does not have rails.
There's a train, but the rails never existed, but said train keeps on going. Where it goes not even it knows.
The train is plowing through the fields, smashing into pumpkins and pedestrians
More like a high speed mine cart with no track
No, but sometimes the antics make me think they might've _done_ a few rails, lol
(No not really, but the energy is there)
@@Dr_Monitor Love this comment, lol.
Sweet pumpkin dishes are a very weird concept to me. Here in Australia a) our pumpkins are mostly mottled green/brown/grey b) they are used as a accompaniment to roast dinners and c) the only pureed pumpkin you see is pumpkin soup
To clarify, our pumpkins are generally still fairly orange on the inside (at least that I've seen)
Ive made 2 kinds of pumpkin pasties as a recipe-less American college student. Got an eating pumpkin at the pumpkin patch, and made sweet pasties with pureed pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. Then I still had Too Much Pumpkin left over, so I made peas, corn, and ground meat (I had bison) and made savory pasties. Both were awesome and I've never attempted it since
Andrew slicing his way through his costume and emerging shirtless was disturbingly... well, disturbing!
Well done, man!
Reminded me of Danny Devito in the couch in Always Sunny in Philadelphia
For Halloween, Babish gave us a scene straight out of a horror movie.
yes, but he made "Alien" fans happy.
Reminded me of Ace Ventura coming out of that rhinos 🤭s
I saw this comment before it happened and was still surprised
"You're a magician, Harry!"
I am LIVING for this irreverence. 😂
So I just had to pull out my Harry Potter cookbook and I wish I could post a picture of the pumpkin pasties recipe because Babish you did it right the first time based on that. Also the sweet treats witch didn’t have savory foods on her cart.
I really so love all the raw, unedited Babish and crew we get to see.
This episode is an actual masterpiece but also feels like everyone decided to make this as a dare during a drinking game at a Halloween party.
Such low standards.

"You're a magician, Harry." It could go either way for that being unintentional OR intentional, and I love it.
"Botched by Babish" has definitely become one of my favorite series on here. It's so chaotic and hilarious and the Halloween costumes amplified it.

The lady with the trolly is like the trolly that goes on the regular train! It’s a mix of sweets and savoury stuff 😊
From reading the comments here I'm guessing the food trolley on trains isn't really a 'thing' in the US? Having visited and spoken to people living there, train travel seems to be WAY less common so maybe that's why. But yeah, trains in the UK at least often have refreshments carts that go up and down with sandwiches, crisps, drinks, sweets and other snacks 😊
I'm loving the genuine crackhead energy with everyone keeping in the bloopers and behind the scenes stuff. You guys are brilliant.
The “did I melt my belly scene” felt oddly Barnyrotic, and Barney is not a character I’ve ever had nor would ever wish such an involuntary response.

The folks at The Botanist Gin would be furious if they weren't spending all their time crafting delicious gins for us all to enjoy. I'm sure they would be livid if they weren't too busy focusing on acquiring top-quality ingredients, including 22 hand-foraged botanicals from the Isle of Islay where the gin itself is crafted. And if they weren't organising for tours of their wonderful factory where you yourself can learn what goes in to the bottle, I'm sure they'd be right on the horn telling you how upset they are.
