- The Scott Pilgrim movie was based upon a comic book of the same name. Co-written, produced, and directed by Edgar Wright (of Shaun Of The Dead fame), it is a hilarious mix of nerdy punk rock kids, action, and video games, with an all-star cast to boot. On top of all of that, the soundtrack included music by Beck and Metric.

I agree that a lot of casting choices here is spot on, but imo Kieran is the only character that really feels like he's pulled straight from the comics, he just fits so well.

I love how Patel's actor made the character try to speak with an American accent when he is focused, but when something throws him off ("did you not get my email?") he can't concentrate and he drops the American accent and switches back to Indian. I think it fits Matthew's character, Satya really owned that role!
That would have been funny if it actually made the final product lmao

Bro Satya killed it as an evil ex in this audition. He acts like a weeaboo that you’d meet in high school that thinks he’s the main character. It’s perfect.

fun fact: brie larson came up with envy’s voice after watching red carpet footage from the adult film awards & seeing how they talked in interviews
Many performances were tweaked for the better in the movie, but Aubrey, Brie, Brandon, Anna, Jennifer, Kieran gave exactly the same performances as the movie, and it's awesome.

I love the actors giving very naturalistic performances because they didn’t know exactly what the tone would be like
What I love about Aubrey Plazas audition is that she instantly had a character in mind and stuck to it. It’s a big risk to take because if the directors are not looking for that character then you’ve basically blown your audition, but sometimes it’s what lands you the role.
You’re not just seeing the movie and the script in its infancy, you’re seeing these actors, almost all of them right at the start of their careers.
A few of them clearly knew exactly who their character was.
Satya gave his ALL and you can really see that in the movie performance and the tv voice acting lol
I love that he got a bigger role in the new animated series!
i really love Satya's accent switch as a character choice, the difference between his tough evil-ex persona and the real human Matthew Patel. I almost wish they kept it in the movie cause it wasn't my favorite thing that they showed his ethnicity mainly by him Bollywood dancing in battle, but reallllly love how they did it in the anime

Why is no one talking about how brandon is literally perfect in audition
FR!!! He’s such a good actor, I grew up with him as superman and his voice and mannerisms are virtually unrecognisable, he’s got great range and really deserved more big screen roles, I personally hope he gets cast as cyclops in the MCU, it would be a great way to propel him back onto the big screen and he’s perfect for the role

Disagree. Cera is very awkward. And very strange in a way. I think that makes Scott stand out in comparison to the others. Everyone else except Ramona and Kim are extrovertive nightmares.
