I can't believe you got a package safely to India. I sent a friend in Kolkata something and besides the guy at the post office laughing at me? It never arrived to my friend's house. Glad you got yours!
I’ve always been quite lucky mailing things from Finland to India ☺️ it might take many weeks, the mail might suffer on its way, but so far everything has always arrived here! * knocks wood* 😁 but Vinod’s parents never received the postcards we sent them from another Indian state! 😅

Hi Johanna you will never grow old in your mother's eyes and you will always remain her baby. your box contained your favorite foods that I could see from your facial expression and yes, Indeed it a special feeling to get your specials from your home country. Great video and I enjoyed watching.
Oh thank you! :) It's been very difficult during the pregnancy when my mom's cooking has pretty much been my only craving, but at least getting all these things helped me feel a bit better! :)
Thank you Johanna for your answer. I can only imagine as a man that pregnancy must be difficult to cope with but at the same time it is a gift and I hope you will have a fantastic child as mom and dad as you are both so humble and live a good life and ofcourse I understand your longing for your beloved mother at this special time. Hopefully things will work out for both of you and a life with three family members is about to begin.
You could probably use a plastic box to ace all the rye-bread packets with anti-moisture sachets and seal it. Use DHL instead of Finnishand Indian postal services.
Seeing your excitements and pure joy melted my heart! All goodies from your mom and Cutest baby clothes from your sister!.. you are really blessed with loving family. You must be getting ready for your fun filled visit to your in-laws soon. Hope my travel tips was helpful..? ❤️😘
Oh yes, you're tips were golden to prepare myself (also mentally!) for the upcoming trip! Thank you, Shreya :) I'm so excited, we're leaving on Sunday. I'm still nervous about the eating though. We're flying from a very small airport that basically doesn't offer any good food selection there and I'm not sure if we're served anything during the long flight. Or if the restaurants at the Delhi airport would even be open when we arrive late Sunday evening! I very much hope there will be no issues with me carrying my own snacks from home. I guess I can just always make a scene like how can they treat a pregnant woman like this haha :D
Airlines encourages passenger to bring their own food as they don’t serve food any more because of covid and I strongly urge you to carry some kind of food like nuts, fruits, cookies and or sandwiches as sometimes flight can get delayed. And you can ask air hostess for spare water bottle before you get off. You will be fine dear it is just you being pregnant it is more concerning. Blessings, ❤️😘
shipment and customs fees are the same in Sri lanka. Happened to me when my pen pals sent me stuff. In my experience this always happen when you get your stuff in a box. I always had to pay custom duties when I got a box and didn't pay anything when I got things in a big envelope like your sister sent.
I love salmiakki flavour in chewing gum, licqour and some hard candies like Sisu and Turkish pepper ☺️ but i can kind of also understand how it’s a very weird taste to most people. Funniest thing ever was when vinod had a shot of the salmiakki koskenkorva 😂 Almost finished with all the chocolate now, and actually rye bread too! I so wish there had been more of the bread 😒

Hei Johanna, Paketista löytynytt pupu on niin söpö. Muutenkin kaikki näytti niin ihanalta, Olin puolestasi niin liikuttunut. Paljon onnea teille ja terveyttä.
Hi Johanna: I live in US and i understand your feeling. Parcel from home is always special. Sorry to say the packing can be done better. I ship fresh idlis to my children anywhere within US. I also get so many shipments of food items (not fresh) from india. The packaging is excellent in india done by shippers. You can buy rye bread online in india , it looks like. Take care!
The packaging was completely fine, but unfortunately many things inside had gone bad during the several weeks the Indian customs kept my mom’s package 😔 i doubt the idlis would stay fresh after a month in the shipping process 🤪😬 good to hear the shipping at least works towards the US, maybe it’s because so many Indian immigrants are there!
@@JohannaNorth I understand and appreciate your sentiment. Thank you for your quick response. Indian customs are notorious. Idlis do not stay fresh for a month. We do have ice packets we can ship with our produce within the country. But that is besides the point. I felt very bad it happened to you. I am a mother & grand mother. I know how excited we get when we receive shipments from home and it breaks my heart when you receive products from family that arrived late and not in good shape.
The gifts from your mom and sister are so sweet and thoughtful. It must have been really emotional for you to go through the package. Was Vinod on the other side of the camera while you were filming this? How did he react to seeing the cute lil baby clothes? PS: When you and Vinod pick out the baby stuffs, please do a haul video on it.
Yes it was quite emotional because i’ve been very homesick for Finland and especially my family during the pregnancy 🥰 Vinod also found the clothes very very cute and was positively shocked of their excellent quality and practicality 😁 i am planning to do videos about setting up the nursery and how we’ll prepare for baby clothes once we actually get any of those things done. We haven’t shopped at all yet 😁🤦♀️
It’s nice to see you loving life in India. My wife is from England and I am from India. We have a beautiful daughter who is a mixture of India and England 😊. By the way you can get mother care baby vests and grow suits in big cities. My bought some mother care branded grow suits from india for my daughter last year.
I cant wait to teach our kid the best sides of both Finland and India! 🥰 i know there are lots of baby clothing options in India too and I’ve gone through dozens of online shops to find things that we’d like.
