That poster was surprisingly well done. That is a perfect piece to tie it all together. Not only Hand signed, but he knew what he was signing and why...nothing else you could buy would be as perfect

He did have a trans black Joe Perry model during get a grip, it was the prototype to the 1996 custom shop run before the cheaper regular production model in 97 which is what you have, it can be seen on 1993 guitar magazines with the Joe Perry mother of pearl headstock inlay, black binding, ebony board, trans black flame neck, JP aero logo doodle on 12th fret & no nasty JP signature overlay on the body & black pickup covers . If you go back & watch Living on the edge & Amazing as well as the making of on Big ones you can look at videos you’ll see it . The guitar you’re confusing it with is the LP standard during the pump era though I’m not sure how you can as JP custom shop has black binding, standard has cream. The black custom shop is the 1 to get in my view but they go for around 10-15k if you can find them.

I was 15 when Get A Grip came out. I said at the time, that when I had the money to buy my first real electric guitar, that black burst would be what I'd buy.
It got discontinued long before I had enough money to get a Gibson.

There was a blackburst custom shop that was released in very low numbers prior to the version with the signature at the bridge & wah pot. He’s playing it in the Living On The Edge video. It’s has his name on the headstock in place of “Les Paul” and has black binding . You can find them for sale every now and then .

P.s Joe’s 59 didn’t make its way to Japan either, Slash was on tour in Japan when he got the call about a 59, they sent him photos at which point he knew what it was & he after inspecting it when he came back to the U.S he bought it.

That JP 1959 Les Paul is how a Burst is supposed to look like. That will always be the true November Rain LP instead or the actual November Rain Slash LP that Gibson put out.

Joe Perry is the most underrated guitar player of all time. He’s been my favorite for over 30 years. Please respond to this. I have something very very special that I want to give to Joe and I have no idea how to. Or maybe u would be interested.

No need to remove my comment about the back signature. The one Joe used during the GAG era was not a standard. It was a prototype/artist proof of the 1997 signature. Its a fact. It was made at the Custom Shop and had his name on the headstock where "Les Paul" usually is. When they did the signature run in 1997, they did two versions. A USA run with a gold silkscreen "Gibson" and "Les Paul with his name below the bridge like you have there, and a custom shop version like he used during GAG with his name on the headstock and a MOP Gibson logo.
