I finally tried skin fix after a year of considering it. It’s Recommend by so many for dry skin, so I was really excited to give a good go finally. I have dry/acne prone skin and I was so disappointed. It felt like it sat on my skin and never really set into my skin, and with just a couple of hours my skin was feeling dry. It also broke me out more than normal. I tested it a variety of ways. I tried it on its own, I tried it along with a peptide serum and I tried it with my personal morning/night time routines. I tried this for over 2 months and sad to say, that after much anticipation it just didn’t work out for me. 💔
I know it’s been a year since you commented this but I’m currently having the same experience! It’s a moisturizer that’s recommended by everyone but, I agree, it feels as if it doesn’t penetrate as deep as it should??? My skin feels dry and almost irritated after using it! I wonder if it’s a sensation that maybe I’m just not used to? I’m just kind of at a loss because I have used (and loved) the CeraVe night time moisturizer for years but recently it also hasn’t felt moisturizing enough. I’m hoping to find something else soon! Any recommendations that you’ve found over the past year?
Two more tips for dealing with dry skin...make certain to run a humidifier especially during the Winter and in any very dry climate. Also, if possible, invest in a shower or water filter to remove chemicals such as chlorine that are very drying for both the skin and hair. You may even discover that you don’t have dry skin after all and no longer need to use heavy creams, body lotions, or even hair conditioner. Yes... it can make that much difference depending on what’s in your water!
I hated skinfix. I have dry skin and this moisturizer actually sensitized and made my skin worse. It also gave my skin texture which I don’t normally have. It was awful. I switch to the biossance omega repair cream and this was life changing and so much better than skinfix. It took less than a week using it for my skin to get back to normal.
I’ve been using Avéne cica moisturizer/cream. It’s in this little-ish tube. I have never used something so moisturizing. Even after it soaks it it’s still there. In the morning my face feels freaking awesome! Just thought I’d pitch in here.
I have dry skin and my skin around my mouth is prone to dehydration, yet I live in the hot, humid country. Therefore I prefer lighter moisturizer in the mornig. It was really tricky finding a right one that won't sweat you out but still occlusive enough in the morning 😂
From the Sephora sale I got the caudalie beauty elixir, the biossance 100% squalane oil, the biossance retinol serum, the too faced sweet peach palette, the makeup forever self setting concealer, and the amika soul food hair mask. I’m so excited to take my first dive into retinol my skin really needs it!
My face was an oily mess for the first 24 years of my life and then at 25 it decided to start getting dry patches. That skinfix triple lipid peptide moisturizer saved my skin this winter!
@@psmith3821 it’s surprisingly not as heavy as you would think! I use it in place of my water based moisturizer because it just wasn’t enough for me during the winter. I’m not as oily as I used to be but I do still tend to lean toward oily/combo and it was a good amount of thickness. It kind of feels like a light overnight mask tbh and I also use it with a BHA exfoliator, vit c serum and niacinadmide serum if that helps
I love Shea butter, I use it natural it moisturizes my dry skin and makes it feel so soft and smooth. I also use the CeraVe Hydrating cleanser such a game changer in my skincare, that Hyaluronic Acid keeps me moisturized all day!
A suggestion for anyone who uses pH sensitive actives such as vitamin C or chemical exfoliants, if using a cleanser with a higher pH make certain to use a lower pH toner so the actives aren’t neutralized when applying them to the skin because they won’t work as intended.
I have dry skin and my skin was REALLY dry last year. I had switched from the Dermalogica cleansing balm to the cleansing oil and even though these products are so similar, my skin really didn't like the oil (didn't realise this was the issue at the time but I know now)! And so my skin was so dry and everything I applied thereafter, felt dry and tight. I saw a video about the Elemis pro-collagen cleansing balm. Oh my goodness, it made such a massive difference to my skin. This is not an insult towards Demalogica because I love some of their other products. But I learnt a valuable lesson about how using the incorrect cleanser can really strip your skin and then it doesn't matter what you layer on top of that, your skin will continue to feel and look tight. Now my skin looks so much better.

I can't handle hot water in the shower! My skin used to be dry but now it's normal and in the summer it's dehydrated (because of the constant sweat) 😁 my only worries now are not getting sun demage and hyperpigmentation
How often do you use retinol/retinol alternatives? Do you layer them with other actives in your skincare routine? I also have dry skin, and my skin can handle retinol but i'm struggling with finding the balance of how often to use it.
@@roxywyndham It’s not always the root cause 😁 Other things you may want to consider are : the amount of healthy fats in your diet, a change in the quality of water in your home (hard water can lead to dryness), a change in clothing and sun exposure could also be it. In my experience, the best treatment is a water based hydrating product like a hyaluronic acid serum or a gel moisturizer layered under a thick cream. If the problem persists after a couple tries, please see a health professional for an in person examination. Good luck with Lotions and Life 😆 I hope this helps!
Hi Susan! I have a tricky question here. While I add my serum when my skin is still damp from my hyrdating toner... I want to assure that my serum, which has niacidamine, sits on my skin for 5 minutes at least to let the niacidamine do its job. For what I know, you have to wait if using an active ingredient so i can't wait for niacidamine to do its job if I apply instantly my moisturizer. What should I do? I have a bottle of thermal water so maybe before applying my moisturer I could spray it?
I use an essence like the pkunkang Yul mist toner in between steps. It’s moisturizing unlike just water and is a micro mist so it doesn’t soak your skin but gives a light layer of moisture to help the moisturizer absorb.
It does for me!! I’ll only double cleanse if I wear a full face of makeup. But on the daily when I just wear sunscreen then just using water based cleanser is fine for me :)
I have very dry skin... I started daily double cleansing and two cleansers I have used is from the Ordinary the "squalane cleanser and from the Inkey List "oat Cleansing Balm" and I seen very good results
Confusing. Apply moisturizer to damp skin. But what about when using Sachi Reform cream. By the time I allow The Sachi product to be applied it’s not damp anymore for the moisturizer to play with.
Gutted that we can't get skinfix where I am (Northern Ireland), without huge mark-up in price 😞 can you please recommend a few alternatives for dry skin with majority of those helpful ingredients? Even if a combo of 2 products?
I have severely dry skin with eczema and mild rosacea and I use the first aid beauty ultra repair serum and moisturizer and it has saved my skin. I do need to try to get into using chemical exfoliants cause I only use physical and they do irritate my skin a little.
Everyone talks about not cleansing in the morning because of dry skin. But no one talks about what they acually do instead ? If you have all these heavy products still leftover on your face from the night before ? And how do you apply sunscreen when you still have residue from the night time routine ? Why is everyone so confusing
Yeah definitely, it can make the moisturiser richer. I prefer to add a moisturiser mixed with an oil as a last step in my routine to seal all the other skincare products in
3:48 I hate creamy moisturizer like NIVEA so much that I stopped using my current one and just use body lotion. I smell like coconut and I’m super shiny but better than this thick cream 😓
I apply retinol at night, and don’t cleanse in the morning. I do rinse my face real quick ~only~ if I feel like I was sweaty at all during the night. Also, I do all my exfoliation in the morning.
As I tend to get sweaty/oily over night, I love to just „cleanse“ with water in the morning and then do my skincare even if I‘m not sweaty in the morning I‘m doing water cause after patting it damp, I use HA and other serums so it penetrates more and locks in the water Love that for me
With „cleanse“ I don‘t mean a whole minute cleanse, more like 10 sec quickly washing off sweat and wetting my face entirely for my routine afterwards :)

I can't handle hot water in the shower! My skin used to be dry but now it's normal and in the summer it's dehydrated (because of the constant sweat) 😁 my only worries now are not getting sun demage and hyperpigmentation
Best moisturizer I have ever tried
Can you do a follow up video to include actual product recommendations for this skin type??
Do you have a video with cleanser recommendations for a damaged/sensitive moisturizer barrier that are capable of removing sunscreen and makeup?
Yes dry skin videos 😭😭 help me lol
I use skinfix and it’s really good!!!!!!
How often do you use retinol/retinol alternatives? Do you layer them with other actives in your skincare routine? I also have dry skin, and my skin can handle retinol but i'm struggling with finding the balance of how often to use it.
I live in CO and as soon as I got here my skin got soooo dry! As soon as I go back to the east coast it’s oily
It’s probably the humidity difference. A humidifier in your home might help with CO 🤓😃
I live in Colorado and humidifier and thick creams help ❤️
@@tabathapoelstra I live in Colorado, I have 5 humidifier in my house and it doesn’t work at all.
You’re always on point !!!
How do you treat dry skin when you also have sensitive skin/rosacea?
Hi Susan..how do I moisturize when my Tzone is oily but my cheeks are dry?
Can double cleansing with an oil cleanser every night further dry out dry skin? What are the best oil cleansers for dry skin?
It does for me!! I’ll only double cleanse if I wear a full face of makeup. But on the daily when I just wear sunscreen then just using water based cleanser is fine for me :)
I have very dry skin... I started daily double cleansing and two cleansers I have used is from the Ordinary the "squalane cleanser and from the Inkey List "oat Cleansing Balm" and I seen very good results
I'm not getting anything since I just did a YesStyle, Good Molecules, and Naturium haul in March.
Totally get it!
Can you post a pregnancy safe and/or clean skin care routine for combination and oil skin pleaaassseeee!
Confusing. Apply moisturizer to damp skin. But what about when using Sachi Reform cream. By the time I allow The Sachi product to be applied it’s not damp anymore for the moisturizer to play with.
I use this moisturizer and love it.
Bought kosas setting powder, moisterizer for summer like aummerfridays and FAB and clinque city block spf (love)
Are there any tips/products you can recommend for dry hormonal acne prone skin. Bha tends to make me super dehydrated.
Birth control and tret saved my face from severe hormonal acne, I haven't had a breakout this year! Good luck on your journey
Are skinfix going to be coming to the UK?
Everyone talks about not cleansing in the morning because of dry skin. But no one talks about what they acually do instead ? If you have all these heavy products still leftover on your face from the night before ? And how do you apply sunscreen when you still have residue from the night time routine ? Why is everyone so confusing
I have dry skin also, and i wish Skinfix started shipping internationally😊 Is the Biossance Omega repair still a favourite of yours?
Finally a video about dry skin!!
Could we get an updated skincare routine please? 😍😍
is it okay to mix oil into your moisturiser, its easier to spread the oil across my face when i do that rather than using one at a time
i usually mix oil with moisturiser
Yeah definitely, it can make the moisturiser richer. I prefer to add a moisturiser mixed with an oil as a last step in my routine to seal all the other skincare products in
Her skin is amazing 😭
Great tips, me mature 53 dry skin, xoxo
How do I keep cleansing balm from getting in my eyes when removing eye makeup???
3:48 I hate creamy moisturizer like NIVEA so much that I stopped using my current one and just use body lotion. I smell like coconut and I’m super shiny but better than this thick cream 😓
Do I have dry skin? No
Am I watching just because I love susan's videos? Yes,Yes I am!!
I wish all these great products would retail in 🇬🇧
I use skin fix during the cooler months. But what about during the hotter months ?
I have dry skin due to medication. Love this video and info
Skinfix eye cream and the serum is amazing but the peptide cream feels like sticky Vaseline on my face.
So for your morning routine,do you wash your face only with water and nothing else?
Yes she says you can just splash your face with water, before applying your serums and spf.
I know you mentioned that you don’t like to cleanse in the morning but what if you apply retinol or ahas in the night? Should we cleanse? Helpppp! Lol
I apply retinol at night, and don’t cleanse in the morning. I do rinse my face real quick ~only~ if I feel like I was sweaty at all during the night. Also, I do all my exfoliation in the morning.
As I tend to get sweaty/oily over night, I love to just „cleanse“ with water in the morning and then do my skincare
even if I‘m not sweaty in the morning I‘m doing water cause after patting it damp, I use HA and other serums so it penetrates more and locks in the water
Love that for me
With „cleanse“ I don‘t mean a whole minute cleanse, more like 10 sec quickly washing off sweat and wetting my face entirely for my routine afterwards :)
My cheeks have been dry/dehydrated lately and it’s been a challenge 😭
Yeah must be very hard to have dry cheeks, never mind the poor women in developing countries living in extreme poverty with not enough food or health care.
@@terimorris3560 So please list what you've done to aid those in poverty, wouldn't want to be caught talking without the walk to go with it. Yet here you are wasting time, giving others a hard time and loitering around on youtube and not helping others.
@@terimorris3560 shut up ! This is a skin care video
Hey Susan I’m trying to order skinfix moisturizer and trying To use the promo code that you shared but they not letting me use it. it says the promo that I enter is not started yet.😢
If you’re an insider , it starts later
guys do you have any suggestions that are student budget friendly? I've been using moisturizers from cerave and the ordinary and none of them are moisturizing enough 😔
Try avene or la roche posay
