I got a C3 55" a couple of months ago and I love it. I paired with a LG S77 soundbar for $300. A very nice bargain. The software updates are not a problem. After one week you barely see any auto update on the screen. I have it in my living room and the light reflection is very minimal. The great angle views makes everybody happy when sitting on the sides. I will be adding a PS5 real soon.

Hi, I'm thinking about a new OLED TV. I have a Sony A90J and its pretty good and the motion is not bad on this panel. However, I was looking at the LG C3 and LG G3 and the G3 in the 65 inch is a remarkable OLED TV. The motion and picture quality on the G3 is amazing, and its a lot brighter than the A90J. I don't think I'll be making a sideways move. It will used in Home Theater applications. Anybody want to buy a Sony A90J?

Great comments at the end Caleb! Adding a heatsink or a MLA with reduced brightness would also give LG a competitive advantage over Samsung and Sony. You're right that they are lacking a competitive advantage right now as the S90C and A80L are similarly priced and the competition is very tough in this market. LG has been the clear feature leader in this category for a while.

Bought the 65" C3 in July 2023, paid about the same as the quoted price in this video if you include the cashback in the equation. I love the TV, it's my first OLED and a huge step up in every way compared to the Samsung LCD from 2015 I had. I rarely have issues with it, although I mostly use my Apple TV 4k for playback so I can't speak for the apps that are included. The OS updates have been good though, and I think they even fixed a few Dolby Atmos passthrough issues I experienced early on. One other oft overlooked advantage of the C3, and something that actually played a huge role in choosing this TV, is the fact that the footprint of the stand is very small while still elevating the TV enough for a decent size soundbar to fit under it. I have a Philips Fidelio B97 which is quite the chonker but it fits perfectly in front of the C3 with both the TV and soundbar being completely on my fairly shallow cabinet. No other contender could do that because they all either had a very low elevation (obscuring some of the screen behind the soundbar) or a stand with a very deep footprint (not leaving enough room for the soundbar to fit in front).

Totally agree with LG needing to lower the cost - Got a C3 65inch in the Black Friday sales, managed to get it for £300-£400 less than the competition and it was absolutely worth it - but if the prices were closer and I didn’t get such a discount I would probably have gone for the Sony due to their handling of motion processing. Don’t regret my purchase at all but it is definitely something LG should be thinking about doing to stay competitive

I picked up a C3 77" just a few days ago and I'm blown away by the colors, viewing angles and life like viewing experience. I'm still going through all of the inputs and applying the custom adjustments for each decoding/picture mode. We watched out first movie in HDR last night in out of the box cinema mode and it was stunning. I actually turned down the brightness to 75 and lowered the peak brightness to medium as I recall. Room brightness does play a big role here and with all of the lights off these settings worked extremely well. We'll be hiring an ISF calibrator to make the final tweaks once we've owned the television for a few months. We picked up our display from Best Buy after they price matched Amazon and paid just over $2100.00. This is a lot of display for that price and we couldn't be happier.

I got my LG 77 C3 a few months ago and I do love it. One HUGE issue though, with my LG C3 connected to the HDMI2 eARC port to my Denon AVR-S970H HDMI out port with a Nvidia Shield TV plugged into the receiver, the TV will just power off and get the 'LG life is good logo' in the middle of watching via the Shield TV and it will do this up to almost every 5 minutes after turning it back on. I have tired turning off all the HDMI CEC settings in the TV (the receiver already has them off due to using a Harmony remote) and weirdly the sound from the shield goes to the TV speakers instead of the receiver 5.1.2 speaker setup, which makes zero sense. I had a LG tech out to my house and nothing is wrong with the tv either. I finally just had to use HDMI 1 port on the TV, which loses the ability to use any of the LG apps, including RUclips HDR, but it is better than a TV turning off randomly. My LG 65 C8 didn't have any of these issues it replaced.

I just purchased a 48” C3 and am having it wall mounted once it arrived to be used as my PC monitor. 4K 120 Hz is perfect for my gaming use and while I’ve used 240 Hz monitors and can appreciate the slight difference, 120 Hz is still blazing fast on a 4K panel and I really feel no need to wait and pay more for a C4 that can do 144 Hz.

    • @Alsam
      @Alsam 2 месяца назад

Thinking of doing the same. Now wiht the C4 out, (but more expensive) ,what are your thoughts on the C3 or pushing to the C4 with 144hz refresh? Do you use your with PC, Mac or both. Any tips, thoughts? Happy with it? Thanks!

    • @VectorGaming4080
      @VectorGaming4080 2 месяца назад

@@Alsam Hey. I think either one would be a great choice. The games I play don’t usually hit 144 Hz with my RTX 4080 because I max everything out at 4K. So, for me, with my current build, it wouldn’t be entirely worth it. However, if you had a 4090 and a decent CPU, you’d see it go past 120 Hz more often than me.
On the other hand, if you can find a C3 for substantially cheaper than a C4, I think it would be a better buy. But, one additional little advantage the C4 has over the C3 is it has its color-boosting algorithm available during game mode I believe. It provides a slight boost to color volume, but it’s not a huge difference at least turning it on and off on my C3 by switching between FMM and Game Mode.
For now, I’ve been sticking to Game Mode and using Nvidia’s Digital Vibrance to make colors pop. It doesn’t do the same thing but kind of looks similar.

To clarify, I have been researching and shopping in the 77" OLED Television range for awhile now. Until I watched your review on the awesome trio: Sony A95L vs. Samsung S95C vs. LG-G3 | Best OLED of 2023, I didn't realize Sony was really a contender in OLED. But now, I am absolutely SOLD on the Sony A95L, but unfortunately is above my pay grade (especially in Canadian $'s). Then in THIS LG C3 OLED TV REVIEW, you confirmed everything I was thinking after pricing the LG-G3 and the Samsung S95C that the Quality differences are so negligent and the price difference significant, buying the LG-C3 is a no brainer. To be clear, although everyone of course loves a good deal, we are not just shopping price, as we realize these are higher end TV's. We do have to have a quality Television to follow the Pioneer Elite plasma series and AV Elite Receivers we enjoyed back in the day. Before I absolutely decide on the LG-C3, I will have to find your comparative video on the Sony A80L vs LG-C3. Really enjoying your very informative reviews. I appreciate you using technical terminology I understand with a reality spin that these are all fine Televisions.

Great job on this! I agree with your point on pricing with this TV vs the A80L and the S90C. When I was choosing my secondary TV (55 inch) for the bedroom, I considered these three as well. In addition, at the time, a 55 inch version of my beloved A95K was available for not much more than the A80L. In the end, I ended up going with the A80L because of the XR Clear processing and excellent sound (it’s so easy to pair with my powered speakers and still use the TV sound) and because I am now used to and love Sony’s menus and OS. Some say the A80L is not bright enough, but I have not found that to be the case and my bedroom gets pretty bright during the day, but I do watch it mostly at night. In any event, I always enjoy your thoughtful and thorough reviews. 🥰

I picked up the 42" C3 just before Black Friday for $860 (plus tax). I'm using it mounted on a Monitor Arm as a dedicated PC display. Having used 40" displays in the past I know to make sure I have enough distance to use it without it seeming too large. Oh and use it in a fair dimly lit room with good bias lighting but nothing that causes any glare. I'm really happy with this choice. Still the main factor holding me back for a sooner purchase was the price. Last year I wanted a C2 for $850 from Bestbuy. So I had to wait all year for the C3 to be offered in a price range I felt was reasonable.

My 65” - 2020 CX has over 10,000 hours on it now after 4 years of use. No issues whatsoever! Incredible!! I thought for sure something longer term would show up - but absolutely nothing - yet. Expect though that maybe in year 5 something might happen? Who knows, but if it does a C3 or C4 will be purchased first sure BUT at - 77 inches. The 65 is just a bit too small for the room - I realize now - but at that time the 77 inch CX was double the cost of the 65”. Love LG for how they do constant updates and - how they update their artwork displays. Blows everybody away when they see it for the first time. The LG S95QR soundbar works very well with the CX, but looking forward to seeing how the WOW soundbar upgrade works with the new tv (CX not equipped) when I eventually get it.

Sometimes you buy a tv because of how it “fits” you, and this was why I bought it a few days ago. My wife and daughter are the main viewers and they’re happy. It came with the perfect stand, and inputs located on the correct side, unlike Samsung. Silly, but convenient. Also, the old videophile in me put on Top Gun Maverick, cranked the 20 yr old M&K system, and along with my daughter, was blown away. So, it may have its faults, but it also does the job. And, the 65” model was $2000 cheaper than the original 50” plasma it replaced. Go figure. The only real complaint is it’s very source dependent. The fubo streamed hockey game looked awful. I may still play around with more settings, but since everything else looks perfectly fine, I may not. Great video. Finally something I own and can comment about….ha. 🎄🤪👍🏳️‍🌈

I returned my 75" Sony X93L after one month, exchanging it for the 77" LG C3. I've had it for 2 weeks and I love it. the MiniLED in the Sony just isn't there yet (apparently the X95L is?). Blooming was present, and no matter what I did with display settings, I could not get better upscaling of lesser quality content.
The LG C3 has completely removed any buyers remorse for the exact same price. I will note that had the Sony A80L been the same price, I would have gone for that, but it was $200 more and a $2,500 TV is more than enough to spend on a TV imho.

@rhack10 for now yes. I haven't spent a lot of time looking at the c4. I assume it has better processing. That was pretty much the case from the c2 to c3. The c2 was worth getting when the c3 first came out but now they're pretty much the same price.

I picked up a 77” C3 in Nov and so far everything has been great. One question I have is whether I should use the native apps (Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc.) using LG's Web OS or would I have better performance using my Firestick Max?

Sweet mother! I feel like I need to take a college course before trying to set up this TV. I miss the days “out of the box” settings. My LG C3 was delivered today and I made the decision to have it wall mounted as I have a cat who likes walk across my entertainment center once in a while. I’m looking forward to seeing this new TV as I currently have a LG TV that is 12 years old and counting! I appreciate this demo because I’m going to need all the help I can get!

I'm going to save everyone a lot of time and hassle. Get the C3 over the G3, S90C, and A80L. I have owned all 4 of these TV's and the C3 is the best overall.
The S90C looks great with 4k HDR demo videos, and looks like hot garbage with lower quality content. If you watch a lot of RUclips or cable you will hate this TV. And the motion is weird on it too. Gaming was unplayable due to motion.
The G3 looks superb with 4k HDR demo videos, and looks very good with lower quality content. If you watch a lot of RUclips or cable you will love this TV. Motion is fantastic. Too bright for my environment though, and too pricey. Didn't game on it.
The A80L looks very good with 4k HDR demo videos, and looks very good with lower quality content. If you watch a lot of RUclips or cable you will love this TV. Motion is fantastic. HDR needs to be brighter. The unit I received was defective. Cut off by itself and changed inputs occasionally for no reason. Didn't game on it. Menu was very sluggish.
The C3 looks nearly as superb as the G3 with 4k HDR demo videos, and looks very good with lower quality content. If you watch a lot of RUclips or cable you will love this TV. Motion is fantastic. Gaming is awesome. The most watchable TV out of the 4 I have owned the past 3 months.

C3 and G3 look identical. If you really pay attention. The g3 shines in dark scenes/shadows and detail is slightly better than c3.
As far as brightness goes on the G3. You can always lower that down to your liking.
I personally love the A80L. The natural clarity and detail is superb. It’s literally a movie screen in your home. In my opinion it competes with the G3. Only downfall A80L is doesn’t get as bright and G3 is brighter in dark scenes/shadows.

Thanks I've been going over lots of videos and looking at the overall specs between the C3 and the SC90 and I think this just reinforces what I've been seeing. I was really tempted to get the SC90 because of the higher refresh rate with 4k gaming but overall my gaming is much less compared to the sports and streaming i'll be watching on it. The motion is the biggest factor for me so this just helps solidify my decision. Want to see if there will be a bigger discount this upcoming weeks so I can pull the trigger an buy one.

I was viewing a bunch of tvs the other day. C3 is difficult to justify. For the same price or less you can get an s90C or even an S95C if you shop around. The G3 is muuuch brighter than the C3. That’s the only tv in LG’s lineup that really stands out. But the price is too high. Anyway, just my own personal random thoughts. Hopefully LG will have a more competitive lineup in ‘24.

That's a fair read of things. However, I was able to get an 83" C3 for $2,999 and to me that's enough to change the value calculation. Hundreds less than a 77" G3, and there are no MLA or QD OLED panels in this size to tempt me away from it.

Samsungs motion sucks and screen blacks out, and I have returned every samsung tv I had. Their quality control is trash. LG G3 comes with 5year warranty. Samsung nothing.

@@marvel764the motion honestly isn’t bad. I have the 77 s90c and a 65 a95k and I can’t tell much of a difference. As far as blackouts the s90c doesn’t have the one connect box so I don’t have issues with black out.

The fit and finish of the C3 and G3 are crazy good I had never considered a LG tv I have a pioneer Elite plasma that has been a great tv but starting to look around and the fit and finish is huge to me the salesman put put his foot on the wall and pulled hard and pushed hard on the C3 LG it flexed in and out and was fine I was blown away I am just waiting to see if the G3 77 goes on sale it’s super clean made well it mounts so flat and has no reflection issues and an art mode I was really impressed with the quality of the LG C3 and G3 but the G3 has probably the best picture and features I’ve seen yet and both are built very well

HELLLLLL of a value. Snagged a 65” for $1599 plus 4% cash back at Costco. Plus a free additional 3 years of warranty included to take it to 5 years. Compared to my 2 year old 65” c1 in my living room it’s noticeably brighter, way faster processor, and just overall smoother.

I'm very happy with my 77 inch C3 paired with Sonos Arc and mini sub.
It's rekindled my joy of watching movies at home.
Last night I watched Gran Turismo and it was amazing.
Question how do I get SDR content just using streaming apps? Wanted to adjust that mode but don't know what content to use.
Everything seems to be HDR or Dolby Vision.

I upgraded my 55" CX to a 65" C3, and I couldn't be happier. All of these TVs are a give/take on features, picture quality, etc. but I find the C3 to be the sweet spot. I was afraid that the C3 was going to just be my CX part 2, but no. It's a noticeable upgrade in brightness, color, and features. I thought about the S90C, but seeing as I use the TV for movies and gaming, the absence of Dolby Vision on the S90C was a no-go for me. The C3 just does everything well. And the constant software updates and bug fixes will give this thing life that the Samsung or Sony TVs probably won't have.

Having 4 HDMI 2.1 ports is a big plus for C3. In competition offerings, even more premium ones, 2 HDMI 2.1 ports (plus one sacrificed to eARC in most), simply does not make any sense in 2023.

The only use case is like mine, for permanent home cinema with an amplifier with HDMI control. So all devices plug into the amps x6 HDMIs and you only need one for the TV.
TBH I'd still buy 4x hdmi over x2 hdmi. Seems wrong and cheap to only have 2 ports

I'm considering purchasing an LG TV for gaming on my console and watching movies. I've come across information suggesting that the C4 model will be hitting the market in one or two months, so I believe the wisest decision would be to hold off until its release and assess the reviews and comparisons between the two models. Who knows, with the C4's arrival, there might be a drop in the price of the C3 as you mentioned!

If you use web OS to just select your apps like you would with a streaming device it’s great. The optimization of the apps is great, something you don’t get with Google TV especially non Sony Google televisions.

I'm trying to decide if b3 is worth it in my living room that gets a lot of window light. I don't have black out curtains.
My only experience with oleds is the 50 inch LG A2 in the kitchen. I think there A2 could use a little more nits
Does the b3 get bright enough?
