The notorious one better get Mayweather in the cage b/c in the ring he's getting picked apart- he does have skills keep in mind the other guy always has to worry about a lot more than just getting hit with the area between the knuckles of the hands which I think makes it look more impressive than it really is in boxing terms.
Much closer fight than Harold had it(how the hell did he give 9 and 12 to Sergey?) but I did give Kovalev the edge, 114-113. 1) There needs to be a rematch. It'd be criminal not to have one. 2) Ward's a tough dude but he needs to consider going back to 168 or commit himself to slimming down for his future Light-Heavyweight fights.. He hasn't looked great to me since moving up to 175.
awesome stuff I forgot about hopkins vs pavlik if ward does that to kovalev it will be some performance i can't wait now I don't think this fight has got the hype it should have
I agree I think this decision was almost as aggregious as Paquiao-Bradley1, it may have not been as wide as what Harold Lederman had but I though Kovalev did enough to win with some breathing room.
boxinginfo I hear you, I mean credit goes to ward for getting back into it, but he just didn't do enough. Honestly, kovalev should have used his reach more because he's practically useless on the inside
boxinginfo He should have kept the fight at a distance, doubling and tripling jab like Monzon. Eventually he would have crashed another right hand on ward. After the knockdown, he never again landed that right hand!
Welcome back.
I loved your videos
The Islander is really back!
thanks heaps :-)
Great to see regular videos again.
Thought Kovalev took it 115-112
Islander, great vid as always. What do you think of McGregor's fight? Good boxing skills right? Hope Kovalev wins btw!

Please tell me you are going recap the Kovalev-Ward fight. We need your unbias insight.

Hopkins-Pavlik and Kovalev-Hopkins are the polar opposite worst case scenarios imo.
Definitely
Haven't been this excited for a fight since May vs Pac
haha, just finished watching fight; i honestly have to see it again, but i really dont think ward did enough to take Kovalev's titles!

I cant believe Teddy Atlas gave it to Ward, thought he was smarter than that LOL
