Don't know if you're already aware of it but OME has a great podcast called 'What Had Happened Was' were he interviews an artist in hip hop and does a chronological overview of their career. It's really interesting and worth a listen especially the El-P season considering how much of a storied career he's had, how Pivotel he was in 2000's underground etc.

Thank you so much for reviewing some Open Mike Eagle! He's been a favourite of mine since I found Dark Comedy in a record store in 2015, and he's just such a great charismatic and relatable MC.

AVAA! OME was on Tim Heidecker's Office Hours podcast btw.

AVAA - Always enjoy the loose but scholarly approach to reviews. You're inspiring me to do the same for game history studies as I progress through my PhD.

Just saw open mike eagle touring with AJJ in pgh. First time I’ve ever heard of him and I was super pleased to find him.

Open Mike Eagle really is the chillest rapper. He recently released a video of him reacting to a Fantano review of his and its great

AVAA prof. I have Open Mike’s albums “Brick Body Kids…” and “Dark Comedy Morning Show” on vinyl so I recommend those. Dark Comedy also has a very good and very funny Hannibal Buress verse on it. You would definitely like both of those albums!

    AVAA!
On an unrelated note I strongly recommend you check out the Zach Bryan self-titled album. Americana/country albums aren't what typically get reviewed on the channel but I think you'd have a lot of interesting things to say about it and the good/bad aspects of the huge moment country music is having recently.. Amazing poetic and introspective songwriting, he is one of the best songwriters of his generation IMO. I think it's remarkable that an album with a totally uncommercial sound is still able to have tons of success in the current music climate (it's set to go #1 and possibly even have a #1 song as well). Some really good collaborations from the likes of Kacey Musgraves and The Lumineers too.
if you had to check out one song, I'd recommend "I Remember Everything" (feat. Kacey Musgraves)

OME is a very nice guy. He is also very quiet, unless you know some of his special interests, then he'll talk your ear off (in a good way).

Eyy, such a quick, yet dedicated review! Loved Trauma, Anime and Divorce and Brick Body Kids Still Daydream for years now, been going back to it with this release, and your voice on Mike's discography nails its mood & smarts.

AVAA. Two things: if you like fun rap listen to Video Dave & Controller 7s album. Second, don't drink the cheapest coffee cos people are most likely doing slavework. Certified fair trade coffee is the most reliable when it comes to working conditions and resonable pay for farmers.

AVAA (I will listen to this project later)!
I wanted to inform you that Arctic Monkeys are going to play in Toronto (30th of August, and 1st September) and Boston (third of September) just in case you are interested in seeing them live. It'd be very interesting listening to one of your concert reviews, but I know it is unlikely that you will find the time.

Is a great thing to hear on a RUclips video.

Professor Skye has become my favorite RUclipsr EVER this last year. I watch every video and find myself engaged for these entire long videos.
I used to prefer fantano and a few others but I feel like Skye is the ally makes it about the music. My girlfriend and I watch you every night and I just wanted you to know how big of a part you okay in some random white 23 year old’s life.
You’ve introduced me to a lot of music and actually a lot of literature I had never heard of; I owe a lot to this channel. Your hair looks good and I hope you’re having a great day.
I loved this album by the way. I just reviewed it myself on aoty and, as always, after watching your video on this drive to the Danny brown Jpegmafia show tonight in Dallas I feel like I understand this album even better. (And you made that long drive feel a lot shorter)

Huge Open Mike Eagle fan but I still don’t really know how to feel about this album. I liked it of course but there was just something about it I couldn’t get into. Great stuff but definitely not my favorite
