    I've been searching for a strut kit that includes both the shocks and the coil for my 2014 Ram 1500 RWD (2x4), but I can't seem to find anything online. Do they even exist or can I only replace the shocks like you did in your video?

    It's nice not seeing a truck that hasn't lived in the rust belt for 6 years. Up here I would be cutting that top bolt off to remove that shock.

      I just did mine today...i live in Michigan and I had to drill it out. I got a rain day so I drove home at 1 only to finish that up at 730. Same shocks too and I haven't even gotten to try them out. I'll see for my morning motor city commute tho. I know the new shocks lifted my truck about 1.5 inches anyway. My old ones wouldn't even rebound when they fell out. I did not to reuse my oem hardware however as they are better built than these kyb ones

    Good video I'm going to change shocks on my 2016 Fiat Ram 1500. Since Fiat took over lot of metric and japanese made parts on the trucks.

    After installing the shocks does it need alignment

    • @Jtwes
      @Jtwes  2 года назад +1

      I didn’t. I wouldn’t think so because your not changing anything on the alignment. Since that video I’ve put on 30k and tires are wearing fine.

      Hey John
      Thanks for watching. I did not look them up. To be honest I’m sure I didn’t torque them just tighten them up good. It would probably be an easy google search. Just finished this week installing new Exhaust manifolds and fixing them infamous Hemi tick.

    Where you buy parts?

    • @Jtwes
      @Jtwes  2 года назад +1

      I will buy parts from all the Box stores like Napa, Auto Zone etc sometime Amazon with the part # I think in the case of those shocks I bought 4 for the price of two off Amazon.

  • @natevanlandingham1945
    @natevanlandingham1945 3 года назад

    You can change shocks on the ground just like that. Shocks don't change ride height or anything. You know that now if you didn't then. Drop old one out. Cut the retainer strap and put it into the spot. You may have to push it up with your hand or a jack to get your bottom bolts started.

    • @Manwichman
      @Manwichman 2 месяца назад

      In this case, he needed to, to drop out the old ones. It's not easy if they aren't roached out... not a great position to shrink them down to pull out

      I see what your saying . Actually Stelantis now , but when they do those mergers it’s not like they closed Warren Michigan , Saltillo Mexico truck plants and built new ones. The keep all there engineers all there workers 90% of the same suppliers and all the research done before and keep building . Most of the time upper management and some mid level changes and that’s about it. Of course when there’s a model update after a merger sometimes you will see different technologies there. I suspect all Fiat contributed to the Tam was that ridiculous v-6 diesel. Lol

      FYI, the G4 is mostly Diamler, not Fiat. It was designed and the early years were built under the Diamler Chrysler name. I have owned an 09, the first year of the G4, since new. 15 years, 235K miles and its still under warranty.
