Nice review! What I would do is add an extra filter like those swifter sheet and cut them to fit over the intake and tape the edge to hold it in place. You can also use a double sided tape. It get dirty after a year. I just replaced it with a new sheet. I can lower the temperature to 60 c with the following tricks. - Set your maximum processor state to 95. - If you have a Gigabyte control center, set it to quiet mode. - I set my IETS GT500 at 50% fan speed. This lower the sounds and it won't overworked the fan. - I run all my games at low to medium setting at 1080p even if I have an RTX 4060. The long term benefits is all your games will run cooler and your laptop will last longer because I found out low 1080p and ultra 4k settings looks the same. I'm looking at you Alan Wake 2
Some advice, replace thermal comound, remove the fans from the heatsink assembly, and check for dust pads on the heatsink. Combining that with the pad may drop temps to the upper 70s.

Just ordered my first ever gaming laptop (console noob) and, naturally, am worried about temps. Was weighing up buying this vs the Llano but wanted some justification to buy the former because it's a lot cheaper. Many thanks for the helpful video!
This pad will definitely help. But to reduce temperatures, start by capping your frame rate The reason the guy's temps were 90C in the video, was bcuz he was playing with his frame rate uncapped. Meaning his hardware is working to its absolute maximum and getting thermal throttled in the process. The cooling pad removed the thermal throttle so that his hardware is the only bottleneck If he were to cap it at like 60fps, the temps would probably sit in the upper 60s at most without the pad. Capping frame rates, apart from the obvious reasons of stabilizing frame time and preventing screen tear, is the #1 temperature control, before the cooling pad/systems. I personally try not to go over 69C for any reason. It's difficult to even reach 70C on my laptop with this thing anyways lol
@ thanks for the reply! I ended up by the GT600 and temps are over 20c lower than when I test playing without it. You’re right about capping fps - beamng for example is surprisingly taxing so I cap it at 90fps and temps sit under 70c. Uncapped my CPU was getting really hot. Tbh most games I’ve left uncapped or just set it to 140fps and temps never go above about 75c but it’s the go-to solution should I ever need it.
Also to get the best performance with the cooler, the fan should blow directly at the processor, because that is the most hottest place on your laptop.
@@Mathewkortxo It's fixed in the center but it's a blower so it doesn't work like a traditional fan. Inside that sealed area within the foam gasket, the blower will increase the air pressure thus forcing equal amounts of air through the intake / intakes in the bottom of the laptop. The airflow (with the computer on top of the pad and properly sealed with the foam block) will be the same pretty much throughout that entire area. You definitely want to make sure the CPU vent is lined up to receive that higher air pressure but the GPU vent intake is just as important to get lined up as well, if not more in the case of a gaming laptop.
Whenever I game, I use IEM headphones which will completely block out the noise of the cooling fan. However, I have yet to test how well my Mic blocks out the noise with its active noise cancellation. Either way, I would trade off the noise any day to ensure my computer isn't burning itself alive.
nice videoi! finally something of interesting about these cooling pad. Recently i bought Alienwre m17 r5, i have ridicolous cpu temperature, but my primary problem is the loud fan! I can't play. You didnt talk about the difference of fan noise.. If i use this cooling pad can i set the laptop fan in quiet mode? thanks
If you live in a quiet house and don't want to wake ppl, then probably shouldn't put it at full blast If you don't care and want maximum cooling, then it'll fade away like background noise. I wear headphones, so it disappears. While I can still technically hear it thru the headphones, it's not actually intrusive The smaller the airways, the higher the pressure, the louder it'll get. My laptop doesn't have rly large vents, so the fans being worked at full speed 24/7 are being worked extra hard. The laptop itself does muffle the sound. I think if the vents were rly big, the fan would end up being even quieter
@@jashiner17xyes this is a good buy. For any laptop really with bottom intake fans. Not only for the cooling, but bringing in cleaner air that goes through a dust filter. Have not had to clean my fans once in a year. Lenovo legion 5i 17.3 inch.
question, I just bought one of these. amazing btw but how do I clean the dust proof net, I see some people suggesting isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber cloth
are u using 1 foam or 2 ? i had some effects on start but now im not noticing any anymore , removed the foams completly last time which helped but now its the same :D
Probably. But you shouldn't have to worry about it for a long time. I had the same concerns, especially since it's a chinese product, but I've had it for 18 months and absolutely nothing wrong with it so far. And I've been using it at full blast constantly 24/7 for over a year since I got it. I did stop doing so to reduce dust a bit, but that's about it. I only use it if my laptop starts getting rly hot
I play games with a controller, so I cant give you a great response. If your computer is hot while playing games, I would suffer to ensure to longevity of the computer.
Goes in, you put your laptop on it, and the pad blocked all air goes in or out (when it's OFF) then the pad turbo-fan makes a big noise and very high air pressure goes inside the laptop. Same type of this products in taobao (Chinese online shopping platform) cost about 200 RMB It's way more effective a lot than normal cheap cooling pad, but the noise is very loud
@@leolee2294 it goes in-? Wouldn't that damage the laptop even more? Cause the vent supposed to make the hot air go out so as the dust, pushing it back in doesn't seem like a good idea. O.o are there products that sucks the vents out or-?
Hey ! Very interesting review ! I'm not sure about something : Is the cooler blowing air into the back of the laptop or sucking air out of the back of the laptop ? Thanks for your response !
You know on predator laptop has a software called Predator Sense, it's showing both CPU and GPU temperature were 60°C and that's fine to me, but in system temperature (which is hardware) reach up to 89°C! I just want to know when you use that cooler did you feel the heat in touchpad area?
It depends on what you're doing if you're looking for large decreases in temps Doing some processes that result in immediate 90C on my laptop, get reduced down to like 88C instead while at like 100% CPU usage. But doing tasks like browsing will drop my temps down to the mid-upper 20s from the upper 40s/lower 50s When it comes to gaming, I never touch 70C
How about the exhaust of your laptop? I have ASUS FX505DT and its exhaust is in the back behind the monitor. This may block by the foam. Also, what's racing wheel in the background?? hehe
I have an MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro laptop, Would you suggest getting this cooler for my laptop? Yeah, I know, it's an old ass laptop, but I got it as a gift a couple years back. I never got a cooler for mine as I watched tons of videos and can see that most were junk. This one seems to be making rounds and I'm surprised that only now I'm learning about this

The smaller the airways, the higher the pressure, the louder it'll get. My laptop doesn't have rly large vents, so the fans being worked at full speed 24/7 are being worked extra hard. The laptop itself does muffle the sound. I think if the vents were rly big, the fan would end up being even quieter
wow these cuts hurt my brain
Worth the buy on acer predator helios 300?
seems like a pretty solid laptop. It has the 3060, which should hold up. 165hz is pretty good too
@@christopherdedeck ty for the answer. I have the 3070 version. This cooling pad could be a good idea for my laptop?
@@jashiner17xyes this is a good buy. For any laptop really with bottom intake fans. Not only for the cooling, but bringing in cleaner air that goes through a dust filter. Have not had to clean my fans once in a year. Lenovo legion 5i 17.3 inch.
what is the software you're using to monitor the laptop
Probably MSI afterburner
question, I just bought one of these. amazing btw
but how do I clean the dust proof net,
I see some people suggesting isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber cloth
are u using 1 foam or 2 ? i had some effects on start but now im not noticing any anymore , removed the foams completly last time which helped but now its the same :D
Will the fan bearing wear out faster due to increase rpm of fan being pushed by vacuum air.?
Is it comfortable to play on it without external monitor ?
I play games with a controller, so I cant give you a great response. If your computer is hot while playing games, I would suffer to ensure to longevity of the computer.
Yes. just give it a couple of hours
Do you plan to buy the Iets gt600? And if so, you would do a review.
I’m pretty satisfied with this one actually! 20 degrees is huge. I’ll think about it 🙏
What are you using to see the temps while gaming?
Msi afterburner
Does it suck the air out of the laptop or the air goes in???
Goes in, you put your laptop on it, and the pad blocked all air goes in or out (when it's OFF)
then the pad turbo-fan makes a big noise and very high air pressure goes inside the laptop.
Same type of this products in taobao (Chinese online shopping platform) cost about 200 RMB
It's way more effective a lot than normal cheap cooling pad, but the noise is very loud
The air pushes through your laptop therefore exhausting all the hot air quicker and with a vacuum effect
@@crazyrussian1974 i wonder does it make any harm to a laptop for example when my laptop on turbo boost and also with this fan?
Do you know if the new iets gt600 its less louder? Good video also
Not that I know of. But, any powerful cooler will have a semi-loud fan.
What program shows the temperature on the big screen?
How can it be dissasambled to clean it?
You know on predator laptop has a software called Predator Sense, it's showing both CPU and GPU temperature were 60°C and that's fine to me, but in system temperature (which is hardware) reach up to 89°C! I just want to know when you use that cooler did you feel the heat in touchpad area?
It depends on what you're doing if you're looking for large decreases in temps
Doing some processes that result in immediate 90C on my laptop, get reduced down to like 88C instead while at like 100% CPU usage. But doing tasks like browsing will drop my temps down to the mid-upper 20s from the upper 40s/lower 50s
When it comes to gaming, I never touch 70C
How about the exhaust of your laptop? I have ASUS FX505DT and its exhaust is in the back behind the monitor. This may block by the foam.
Also, what's racing wheel in the background?? hehe
Is it cumbersome to play on just the laptop with this pad underneath without external accessories like ur using in the video?
I have an MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro laptop, Would you suggest getting this cooler for my laptop?
Yeah, I know, it's an old ass laptop, but I got it as a gift a couple years back. I never got a cooler for mine as I watched tons of videos and can see that most were junk.
This one seems to be making rounds and I'm surprised that only now I'm learning about this
I have tested plenty of cooler at this point and the IETS GT500 is so far the best.
