A radical redesign of the "laptop" form factor is what the industry needs. Sure, bulking the physical size (internally and externally) HELPS, but not by enough. Desktops stay so much more reliable because they have the interchangeability of parts and better solutions for thermals, power, and I/O. The ROG Mothership is a great example of how portable PCs capable of mobile gaming can have a great and very functional design simultaneously.
easy to use and easy to fix products make manufacturers lose money so no, this isnt ever going to happen. Laptops and the people that buy them, even my own mom, are questionable to say the least.
@@KSword007 Framework is unique but my point still stands. As for the laptop, they never bothered me with it at the border because it was lowkey and normal, plus I didn't have to pay the driver for more luggage and was able to carry more clothes. I travel abroad every 6 months for work. It also sucks when you have to borrow a bloody TV just to play at 60Hz instead of 155Hz when I'm not traveling and am back home. As someone who's looking to get his first gaming laptop, I've kinda found myself going down a few raccoon holes (see what I did there) to make the best informed devision I can, so finding videos and giveaways like these to protect my stuff is so awesome!!
I've actually been considering getting a laptop cooling pad for my ASUS ROG gaming laptop, so this was a wonderful review for me to run in to! I love that the company said to be transparent that they were sponsoring you, they didn't give you a script, and told you to be honest! I have a ton of respect for that. I think I'll grab one while it's on sale for Prime Day!
As a matter of fact this video came in at a perfect time cause I recently wanted to play some of the newer games on my Asus ROG laptop and I was literally unable to use the laptop's keyboard due to it getting so hot.
The ROG specifically benefits more from these types of coolers due to the amount of open vents in the bottom. We had one in the shop I was going to show but it was already fried lol
I worked at Best Buy for some years in the computing department, but I sold tons of stuff with/for people's computers/laptops. People spend so much on stuff for their computers without a second thought- these are such a solid purchase. 100$ for this is a fantastic value. It's a solid fan and an excellent execution of how to accomplish a universal design. Honestly, I would've bought one when my laptop was my only machine.
Similar to Ilano is the IETS. I got the IETS GT500 and lowered laptop temps by 15-20C. I'm glad other laptop coolers are finally acknowledging this type of design, not like those cheap coolers that has an open fan underneath blowing even more dust into the laptop and not even air sealed nor does come with filter.
Yeah this type of sealed design is clearly the correct one, the only 2 coolers that actually work (llano and IETS) use a very similar one re: providing a foam seal and then forcing air into the laptop. The other ones are like blowing air onto a car bumper to cool the engine LOL
@@SalemTechsperts the other ones do suck ass, i had a shitpad l13 yoga with a broken fan and had to use one of those shitty coolers and an extra USB fan throwing air on top of the laptop, if the cost to ship one of these to where i live wasnt 100 dollars this would have been very helpful to me, i've got a pc now thankfuly, so no more cooling problems (now i only get fucked by asus)
@@SalemTechsperts after my Acer Nitro 5 keeps shooting up to 98C for gaming. I had to buy the IETS GT500 and a pad of PTM7950. The difference was night and day with temps from 98C/96C (CPU/GPU) now down to 87C/65C.
I bought one of these based off of the short you did months ago. I was blown away (pun intended) by how well it worked. I wanted to see just how far it could go, so I OC'd my laptop as far as it could go, and played a game on max graphics settings. With the Ilano at max speed, the laptop was blowing cool air out the sides, instead of the flesh-cooking steam it normally does. Well worth the money! The only problem I have is on max speed the Ilano is pretty loud, but as long as I'm not pushing my laptop to the absolute limit, the Ilano never really needs to be that fast
My Gigabyte G5 died right after the warranty. I changed the thermal paste and kept it clean. I had a cooling pad, and I didn't take the laptop with me much. Not only that, but I put in 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB m.2… I did everything for this laptop. :(

Finally some company has addressed the problem with old school laptop coolers which pointlessly blast air on the bottom cover, and it leaks sideways, I can already see that this concept of foam sealing it around will be a gamechanger
I remember watching your short form video for these and thought they were really cool. I need to get this for my recently refreshed gaming laptop. Definitely worth the investment.
wow i just found this video. Thanks for the awesome review. i got a 17" Chunky Laptop that puts out enough heat to warm a small 3rd world country. I love the large top tabs on this cooler. I tried many a laptop "cooler stands" but none have tabs or front edge large enough to keep my laptop from sliding off. This looks like a really great product and im happy to know it exist in the world. Kudos to llano for making such a great product. now i just have to find a way to save for one over the next few yrs to get one.
Never seen a larger format video of yours, and it is surprisingly informative. The seriousness contrasts a bit with the style of your shorts, but some fun is still there. Great video, keep it up! (Sorry for the English if it’s bad, not my first language.)
Gaming laptops have always had issues with heat, having a cooler is honestly a must these days and sadly most are cheap crap that doesn't do much, some may even damage your machine thanks to the fans blowing the wrong way (I've seen it, dont ask htf they sold it that way) this at least seems to have some actual thought into its design, the added foam seel seems like an interesting addition, and those extra adjustments on the feet look good for the taller user like myself lol, a big issue I have with laptops other than the lack of upgrading options, is the beck pain I get from them, so even a couple of extra inches is a bonus for me. Thanks for the review, I like channels who seem to do honest opinions, not just gimmicky bs.
I’ve been using a air large purifier for two years as a table/cooler (put the exit vent right on the intake) works well but getto lol. Glad to see a real laptop cooler finally!
Game dev student here with a gaming laptop from my school, I NEED this to baby it before its demise. I’ll pick one up as soon as I’m paid. Looking forward to trying this out!
Any amount of fans will help, it's just a matter of how much. I had a Toshiba Laptop that i loved get fried once. Was one of the best keyboards, and had a disc drive that ejected the disc, not a tray. I loved that thing.
I had just gotten a Lano V13 thanks to your awesome review for my Framework 16 laptop without the GPU module. I think for my needs, as I'm not gaming on it even with the memory foam not optimised for the fan intake of the laptop it is more than enough for my workload purposes. on idle at 300rpm only I notice a 2-3 degrees C drop in temps which is what I predominately use the cooler on as when I'm working I like to be able to concentrate without hearing as much of the buzzing from fans and such. Because the framework 16 doesn't yet have a way to manually turn on/off the stock in built fans, or set a fan curve, being able to manually turn on the lano V13 to pump some airflow through the laptop is better than nothing and I can feel it if I put a tissue or my finger over the FW16 exhaust.
You can bump it up to 600 RPM. 700 RPM may be a touch louder, but I know for sure anything faster than this is already on the loud side. 2,800 RPM is about as loud as a vacuum cleaner operating at half of its power. 😂
I've heard about these cooling pads in a while and now a review from the greatest technician that's ever lived comes! Kind of shocked by the tests and temperature differences, really interested in the product.
Very well explained man! Even though I can't afford a $200 laptop cooler, just watching these types of reviews is very educational especially if you add the signature comedy lines that you have HAHAHA. I'll be having a blast if I would've been given a chance to have such wonderful products from llano!
If the laptop cooler blowes in air faster then the integrated fans can normally go (causing then to spin faster than rated) can that cause damage to those fans?
There's no evidence the fans get damaged even after long term heavy use. I don't believe the pressure coming from the cooler is even enough to spin the fans beyond what they're rated, it simply helps force air into every crevice
I am impressed how, even when a company sponsors this video, I can hear a honest review of this product. It's awsome when you do see how good the product really is, thank you for this review!
So I bought the non-rgb version and got it today. Ran Helldivers 2 on a mix of low and medium settings and fan speed to about 1200-1500 rpm and while the GPU temp went down to about 60c and below, the CPU temp is a steady 80c. Cranked it up to 2800 rpm and the CPU temp goes to about 78-79c. Basically getting the same temps when I was gaming without the cooler. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here on why I'm not seeing significant temp drops. Don't get me wrong, my laptop surface isn't hot at all but I'm just a little concerned about the no significant temp drops when maintaining a sweet spot or cranking it all the way. Mind you, I'm not a whiz with computers. Anything I've learned is either from Reddit or this legend when he's dumping knowledge while applying severe burns to appease the roast Gods. My laptop's a MSI Bravo 15 C7VE, 16gb ram, RTX 4050 6gb vram and an AMD 5 7000 series. (I managed to tinker with NVIDIA and put a framerate cap of 60 FPS and disabled the in-game one as well so it went down to 73-75c while running the game.)
Do I have to connect it to my laptop to work properly or that connecting USB is for adding more peripheral connections to my laptop? And can it work directly from the power supply adapter ?
Thanks for this review. My wife puts her laptop on a thick book some times to get the camera at a better height for video calls. This would be a much better spacer along with the cooling action provided. Well done! Dig your hair Lupe...
It's a coincidence how after I realised my laptop was getting overheated I found this product online, but sadly I was too broke and decided to use a plastic bag with ice instead. It worked well for a couple of days until today when water leaked through and killed my HDD 😭 If it won't work after drying in 2 days my mom will buy an SSD to replace it and some thermal paste. I looked through your channel to educate myself a bit more and found this video, I thought "Ohhhh that's a coincidence, I discovered this a few days ago" but then got reminded of the price. So when I saw you're doing a giveaway I thought, why not give it a shot and comment (I'm usually a silent viewer, I mostly comment on shorts). I really like and appreciate your video's, they're one of the reasons I'm considering my career path to be in this direction in the future, they're also funny lol
I bought one of these coolers in April and I can confirm that they work great! Playing games on my ROG laptop was decent but became great after I started using one of these pads. I was able to push the settings a lot higher with the pad on a fairly high fan speed. But when you push the fan speed even harder, you can push the graphics a little higher too. If you can get one, get one.
I was looking for a cooler for a new gaming laptop, your videos have been very helpful in helping me understand how to mantain a laptop or any electronic device, I wish you the best for your carreer.
As someone who bought the IETS GT600, I can vouch for these types of coolers. Although if you are buying the FlyDigi BS1, please do be aware that the vents are oddly designed and can be (or will be) the opposite of actually cooling anything properly. The Llano in general is cheaper, by around BND$40, compared to BND$120 for my IETS. Although that BND$80 in itself is a worth in its own price for any gamer, tuner, or just the average user you might know whose laptop is as hot as your local habachi grill or that they're made to replace the Sun... or their room is a sauna because of it. I'm glad to see more coolers like this, truly the best laptop coolers ever made. 👍 (Why I bought the GT600? It had 14inch support foam as Llano had not released the V10 at the time, and I wanted one cooler to be universal.) Also to add, the plastic is good plastic, not like those that you get on like a $5-$15 laptop cooler. Definitely as strong as your mom's Tupperware.
I think personally that, if you don't like a noisy cooling pad, bro... Just don't get a laptop then. I use a laptop and have to cool it during 3D rendering and wind tunnel simulations, and i have to use a hand made fan blasting air through the vents to prevent over heating. In my opinion noise is just a small sacrifice for both performance and portability. Awesome video, i really love honest companies like this one that does not force you to follow any scripts and rather see a real video to even learn from customers and content creator's experiences. Keep it up!
Been eyeing for that v12 for over a year now. Finally, a very honest review. Though the price is really steep so I guess I’ll just have to wait for the giveaway 😋

I searched "The greatest technician in the world that's ever lived"and found your channel
@@Sharpless2 Framework disagrees with you.
@@KSword007 Framework is unique but my point still stands. If everyone did what framework does then youd realize its just 2013 again, yknow, when it was possible to fix your devices at home by yourself with replacement parts that were easy to find and usually cheap to get.
Framework is in no way special as they just do what was the standard since 1998.
@@Sharpless2 Well mate, I brought my nearly 3 grand desktop PC with me over the border and nearly got it confiscated even with all the paperwork just because it looked ''more expensive'' and ''probably'' stolen, even tho it's not. I'll probably buy some cheap gaming laptop for this year's trip, and buy me a proper gaming laptop when I get there.
.....No ASUS.
I'm glad that this laptop cooler brand is available in my country (PH). I'm sorry I can't use your affiliate link to support your channel, but I'm definitely getting one on my next pay check. Thank you for this video!
0:01 there's my laptop! A 2021 zephyrus g14! I don't know how, but there's a scratch on the palmrest that I can't get rid of
I’m selling mine for a desktop
You can't, that's the trickest part. You either cover it with a skin or replace the palmrest

As someone who's looking to get his first gaming laptop, I've kinda found myself going down a few raccoon holes (see what I did there) to make the best informed devision I can, so finding videos and giveaways like these to protect my stuff is so awesome!!
2nd long form video I've watched on your channel, very useful and I love the honesty
I was trying to find a good review for this, thanks!
Would actually consider getting this. Thanks for the review!
My pleasure!
Didn't expect my mother to catch a stray this morning. ; )
Trust me, she catches all the strays.
The Greatest Cooling Pad That's Ever Lived
That’s never lived
My Gigabyte G5 died right after the warranty. I changed the thermal paste and kept it clean. I had a cooling pad, and I didn't take the laptop with me much. Not only that, but I put in 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB m.2… I did everything for this laptop. :(
Also, I went to a repair shop I EVEN WORKED AT BEFORE and we tried everything to fix the Laptop to no avail. RIP LAPTOP.
Bruh planned obsolescence
Never buy a laptop again

PLEASE do more reviews, you are the only person i trust knowing you have no bias, also this vid was entertaining while still being informative, tysm
Bro, for 100 dollars, this thing is a steal frfr, plus RGBs????
Absolute facts #V13
That's what im saying!
RGDeez
not just rgb but you get extra USB ports, currently using one and getting past 1200rpm is overkill for my 3070 temps
it's crazy how youtube recommended this to me in one minute
edit: just finished watching and really glad youtube recommended this to me so soon.
Thank you. I got it from Amazon. it's actually a beast.
I would absolutely love this cooler for my Asus laptop A.K.A. my Heat Bomb. Unfortunate that I cannot get it in South Africa yet. Hopefully it arrives in my country soon.
Nigerian here. Been waiting for this cooler to reach Africa for over a year with no luck. If you find a way to get it please let me know. Thanks.
Super helpful review for someone looking to protect her new computer. Thanks!
I legitamately can't stop watching your videos and you have enspired me on working on all sorts of PC's.These videos also make my day a whole lot better.
Man i seriously respect companies like this, that actually ask for reviewers to leave honest reviews, kudos to llano
Finally some company has addressed the problem with old school laptop coolers which pointlessly blast air on the bottom cover, and it leaks sideways, I can already see that this concept of foam sealing it around will be a gamechanger
The fact that they let you do an honest review is just amazing. Not many companies do that
I remember watching your short form video for these and thought they were really cool.
Gotta love the honesty from Llano, rarely see that in companies nowadays.
Bought one, used your code. Thanks again!
Never seen a larger format video of yours, and it is surprisingly informative. The seriousness contrasts a bit with the style of your shorts, but some fun is still there. Great video, keep it up! (Sorry for the English if it’s bad, not my first language.)
Great looking cooler. Always wanted it. Glad to see the preformance of it is great!
Im learning a lot about tech repair and its eye opening
Kind of shocked by the tests and temperature differences, really interested in the product.
you have a fantastic way of making the viewers feel included!

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I appreciate it
I am impressed how, even when a company sponsors this video, I can hear a honest review of this product. It's awsome when you do see how good the product really is, thank you for this review!
I literally just started looking for a new cooling pad for my gaming laptop, and this looks perfect!
Thanks for the review
The greatest technician that has ever lived!! Good stuff! Love your vids!
Been looking for one for a while so thanks!
I love your videos! I do repair work on a regular basis. I always try to make parts last as long as possible to make less ewaste.
Just going to get a gaming laptop here soon and once I heard of this I needed it cause it would be amazing to use
It is amazing! My mind is blown how well it works.
It's a coincidence how after I realised my laptop was getting overheated I found this product online, but sadly I was too broke and decided to use a plastic bag with ice instead.
It worked well for a couple of days until today when water leaked through and killed my HDD 😭
If it won't work after drying in 2 days my mom will buy an SSD to replace it and some thermal paste.
Thanks bro, I owe you one. After cleaning the gooch swamp from my laptop and repasting, this cooler actually stop my laptop from thermal throttling
I think this is the first time i saw a cheap looking product on Amazon and it turned out to be amazing.
Thanks for the video!!!
Great review and hats of to the manufacturer for honesty, it proves that they have nothing to hide from.
(Why I bought the GT600? It had 14inch support foam as Llano had not released the V10 at the time, and I wanted one cooler to be universal.)
Also to add, the plastic is good plastic, not like those that you get on like a $5-$15 laptop cooler.
Keep it up!
I'd love to get one of these from Llano for my son's laptop. I bought a V12 for my computer a few months back and I love it.
Thx for the review! My son needs one of these while he games on his laptop!
Been eyeing for that v12 for over a year now. Finally, a very honest review. Though the price is really steep so I guess I’ll just have to wait for the giveaway 😋
Great video. Will definitely look into getting one of these.
I would love to see more product reviews! Your practical, facts based approach, with the added humor, is a winner in my book.
Plus more Salem techsperts is always a win for me
Thank you for the review, will try it.
Thanks for helping me pull the trigger on laptop cooler finally.
With prime day's and your discount I got the v13 for almost falt 90 🤘
As someone that has had to deal with a laptop so hot the keyboard is hitting 54°c I can confidently say this type of product slaps. A laptop cooler is such a rare but useful thing
I agree with other comments that its good that they wanted you to be honest and didn't provide a script or talking points
I'll use this cooling pad as both a laptop cooler and my brand new lasko fan. Thanks llano for saving my laptop and I from this summer's heat.
Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
Just purchased my first gaming laptop and was shocked to see how quickly my laptop gets warm once I play those higher impact games. Might consider the cooler as at the moment I am just elevating the laptop and keeping my room cold.
This is perfect for my kid’s first gaming laptop. He saved for months to buy it and we need it to last for a long time.
An amazing straight to the point review I really enjoy your content keep it up
