  • AUSCHWITZ II: The German Nazi extermination camp, full tour of Auschwitz extermination camp. A full tour and documentary of Auschwitz II the extermination camp including all of the important sites and places within the camp with a description of each as I walk around this huge and very sad place.
Construction on Auschwitz II-Birkenau began in October 1941 to ease congestion at the main camp. Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, head of the Schutzstaffel (SS), intended the camp to house 50,000 prisoners of war, who would be interned as forced laborers. Plans called for the expansion of the Auschwitz II the extermination camp first to house 150,000 and eventually as many as 200,000 inmates. An initial contingent of 10,000 Soviet prisoners of war arrived at Auschwitz I in October 1941, but by March 1942 only 945 were still alive, and these were transferred to Birkenau, where most of them died from disease or starvation by May. By this time Hitler had decided to annihilate the Jewish people, so Birkenau was repurposed as a combination labor camp/extermination camp. The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum estimates that 1.3 million people, 1.1 million of them Jewish, were sent to the camp during its existence.

Ed Denoy "history repeats itself" so in my humble opinion I'd say NO, humans race as it is NO, perhaps some nations YES, but looking at what's happening in Middle East and so called western world allowing it, just confirms total hypocrisy of wold leaders. (Trump could be exception here so we'll see) Perhaps certain hipótesis of new world order are true? But that's different story...

Thnx for posting this video. I watch a lot of material related to the holocaust. Take screenshots of the scenes. Those who understand the enormity of this event will feel the sufferings these people had to undergo. It is very important to remember these people because they were killed after going thru horrible sufferings. It is necessary to honour their lives by keeping them in our memory so that they do not feel alone and their lives do not fade away unknown. I am Indian and have no relation with them other than that of humanity. But I always remember them to keep them company.

I would have wanted to get as far away from that building the moment I realized where I was standing too. I appreciate this tour of the campsite, you did a wonderful job explaining everything. It is truly an emotional undertaking to walk thru & film this part of our world history so many say did not happen. For those that do not believe, I leave it in God's hands & do as He has guided "forgive those who trespass against us" as He will take care of their final accounting as He does us all.
When I was a small child, I had horrible dreams of vicious dogs, yelling men & women in weird uniforms, adults, children & babies screaming & crying, the dead were everywhere. My mother, or caregiver, would hold me close to get me calmed down & usually I never slept until daylight came. When I was about 11, while I was staying at my sisters, we went to the local wash-house & I saw my first National Geographic magazines, showing pictures of what I had been dreaming all those years. Once my sister made me understand that part of another conscious had apparently been reincarnated in me I no longer had those dreams & since I have had a very mature understanding of man's inhumanity to man but my childhood had ended.
    Thanks for your fortitude Vic.
P.S. The beds that had the ladders you showed, actually there were 3 tiers starting with the floor, then the 2nd (middle) & the 3rd (top) rows which slept 6 to 9 each level.

This is fascinating, it is difficult to get detailed history's of the holocaust and the death camps of WW II. Looking at the toilet building, the floor has heaved upwards as you say due to an explosion. Could this be due to a methane explosion during the time the building was burnt down? Due to it's function and the enormous number of people forced to use it it would be possible for large pockets of methane to accumulate beneath the floor slab.

The nazi movement was formed after WW1 Hitler was a soldier in WW1 and what he went through and the terrible Versailles contract that made Germany a poor state were part if the reasons he formed the nazi movement. The political instability in Germany and the fact there were many parties who couldn't agree, which created a situation of 3 elections a year, helped the nazies go to power.
In the UK there was a facist movement led by Mosley who supported Hitler but that was after WW1 in the 1930is

Hello again Vic thanks for replying where are you from unless you want to keep that private.
Yes it is so important that you made this Video. I for one thinks everyone at a certain age let's say over 12 years old should watch this I don't think anyone any younger can understand any of this I guess the only thing to tell children at that age anything about it that it was terrible but they need to watch it immensely!
We have people in the United States that try to compare how people were was treated bad in the United States at one time in history and yes of course a certain race of people were treated bad I'm talking about black people but it can't compare how horrible the poor Jewish people were treated they were just murdered for no reason and a big difference is it's horrible as slavery was and yes it was horrible there's no way that it can compare the way the Nazis she did not only the Jews the people of other races also and if you were German and homosexual they killed you too!
Here in America slavery was wrong and like I said it can't compare to the Holocaust it's horrible as slavery was there's no way it can ever compare to the Holocaust because of back during slavery they were not murdering their slaves they were feeding them pretty good because they wanted them to work they wasn't starving them to death a lot of people of the Holocaust!
Of course slavery never should have happened in America but it did. Yes of course back during slavery we had bad people and people should never own people but on the other hand some of the people in America want to forget the past like the ones that claim they're still being mistreated I've never been a racist and I never will be a racist but these people that claim they're being mistreated should watch this video and a bad thing about the same people that claim there are being mistreated I bet you most of them doesn't know a thing about the Holocaust and they should know. Another thing most of them don't even know about the recent pass 40 years ago when the mistreatment of Americans were beginning to stop but I still say they wasn't treated to the extent the way the people of the Holocaust were treated and these very same people in America that say their people was mistreated want to forget the past and just hope it will go away I think just the other way around the more people learn about history the more they can do about it the minute we start forgetting about the past the more likely that something similar will happen. It's like the old saying those that don't remember the past are condemned to repeat it God bless you my friend I consider you my brother

    • @bigglesflysagain1749
      @bigglesflysagain1749 7 лет назад

....too expensive...too crowded...too commercial.....too dangerous......too much aggravation EVERYWHERE and for all types of reasons.....the "Europe on $5 a day" is LONG gone....the best years to travel were in the 60s and early 70s, if you don't count the 30s.

    • @CuriousAboutTravel

Yes Biggles but flight fares are certainly lower than ever. Hotels, not so much, but if you watch YT travel channels, a single person can travel cheaply. We still have hostels,B&B, internet lodging, etc. Not everywhere, though. I do agree with you about the 60's and 70's,because travel still held mystery and some spirit of adventure that is lacking today. Maybe because of the endless stream of tragedy, hate, and greed that we witness 24/7 in real time. The world was a very welcoming place,50 yrs ago, or so it seems ,compared to today.

Listening to you talk about those beautiful innocent person being murdered for who they were while seeing teenagers playing on the track in the background was a bit disturbing. I know kids will be kids but they are old enough to be told that this is simply not a place or time to play. It’s time to listen and be serious. They need to hear and feel everything that comes with visiting this place for thats the only way to ensure that their generation won’t allow this to happen ever again. People plz talk to your children
