One of David's finest solos, and the lyrics ring more true today than ever. It always sends a shiver up my spine when Machan (Margaret) Taylor screams out the high note, such intensity! Great reaction, thanks for not interrupting the solo.

Back in the day I had the VHS Tape of This "Delicate Sound of Thunder" concert. It was so amazing to me. I never thought it would ever get better but now all these things are available on RUclips. I really love this solo. David is not a "flashy" player. But, he has his moments. In this video he gives a nod to "flashy" at about 9:10. He does a one-note tap with his right index finger. That's it. It's all the more noticeable because he does not fill a solo with "flash". Just soaring notes played to perfection.

recommend COMFORTABLY NUMB, id go with the live pulse concert version,
it will blow your mind and you will get to hear the greatest guitar solo ever
Definitely the PULSE version, but I would recommend the studio version first. With the change of tempo and tone, they're almost two different songs.

Amazing cinematography. This solo is at least equal to Comfortably Numb. Ricks beautiful keyboard intro, David's vocals, the back up singers, subdued effects. Masterpiece as is the entire concert video.
Perhaps, one day, their vision of a world "where the speechless unite in a silent accord" will come to pass. Though the ladies in the chorus belting out the lyrics on this one are my favorite part.
Oh! This is my _favourite_ Pink Floyd song, and David Gilmour's lengthy guitar solo is one I wish never ended! I am so glad they decided to remaster this concert and go to the full version of "On the Turning Away" for us. What a masterpiece!
I would like you to react to a South Korean Gospel singer who is probably the best female vocalist in the world. That is not just idle talk. People like David Foster, Michael Bolton and Josh Groban are all absolutely nuts about her but she refuses to enter the Hollywood music scene because she is a sincere Christian woman and fears it will ruin her relationship with God. Her name is Kim Sohyang and you have never heard anyone who can sing quite like this lady, or take you to a place where time and space warp and you wonder what just happened!
